The best restaurants in Cork city council

11/06/2026: Had caffe latte, carrot cake, salted Carmel brownie and a croissant. I shared the treats and they were all equally good. Croissant was light n flaky but could have benefited with a bit of jam. Definitely recommend

26/03/2026: Staff were lovely, Barista was really nice. The sizes are a bit off though, I got a regular and it felt more like a small for €5. The coffee wasn’t as good as other places I’ve been to like Cork Coffee Roasters, but I did like the location. Sitting outside and people watching was really nice.

30/05/2026: I have been here a few times already and feel that the quality of the food is going down (or I was unlucky) because the last dishes I tried weren’t very good. This last time, we got one of the dishes without one of the ingredients and when we complained, the waiter apologised but was defensive. He said he would charge less for the dish and at the end he took 1€ for a €17.5 dish (strawberry burrata). I really don’t care much about the €1, I think if he had offered more bread (which surprisingly the burrata came with none) I would have left happy. Instead, he made us feel like we were trying to get a freebie, saying that the dish was equally good without it (it wasn’t, probably it would be as bad with the pecans on top as without them). Overall I found his answer very rude and gave him the euro back. They get the euro but not a returning customer

26/01/2026: V good drink. Reasonable price. Full House for the weekly visit by White Horse Guitar group. It's a drinkers bar which can be quite busy, but service is prompt. Bar space at counter limited, large room/s off ..

13/07/2026: There are many great sandwich options! The service is super fast and polite. There are a few (very few) places to sit at the counter and eat there if you want. I recommend it!

28/06/2026: Went there as a walk in with my husband and my mother. Every table was reserved, so we cut our loses. While looking around to see if any tables were free and we were met with judgy eyes and one customer was really rude with my mother, saying “that the tables were booked, can’t you see” then laughed with her boyfriend. I understand that does not project on the staff but unless you book and table you will be judge and made to feel downgraded and unwanted.

24/06/2026: best thing: the cool art. second best thing: everything else. came here for the pub quiz, unfortunately we were quite bad, nonetheless had soooo much fun. wish i could come here every week.

07/07/2026: Great coffee and selection of books plus the vibe is great. Perfect point to grab a coffee on you in or out of lough lake. Views are amazing and a great spot indeed. Recommended.

05/06/2026: We order the hazelnut coffee regularly and have done for years. Everyone compliments our coffee when they come to our house. We've tried several of their coffees which are all great but we always come back to the hazelnut. Have to finally leave a review when I got a shipping notice today 30minutes after I ordered. We always visit the shop when we're down in Cork and the smell of freshly roasted beans is divine. We've already recommended this place to all our friends.

18/05/2026: Mahers is my favourite place to buy coffee. While the online order process is perfect, and delivery is always on time, I would encourage everyone to visit the store in person, the service is spot on, the variety of coffee is unparalleled, and they go beyond every time.

24/07/2026: This place was absolutely amazing. The sushi was perfect. The tempura was fabulous. The atmosphere was just right. The were very busy so I would have liked to have gotten some dessert but despite trying to catch their attention a couple of times nobody stopped to take my dessert order, and eventually I just paid and left.

17/07/2026: Great place. A cozy nook on the busy Oliver Plunkett Street, dishing out some great flavours. Loved the dishes I tried. Team Wabi Sabi you guys are doing great. This itself tells the story, I missed to take photographs as I just couldn't hold back and immersed myself.

17/07/2026: The food was the best I got during my stay in Cork. It was truly delicious. The staff was very nice and polite and we only waited six minutes for our meals to arrive.

11/06/2026: Lately they changed things a bit and I decided to give the coffee shop a second chance. I am loving getting one or two takeaway dairy free coffees a week here on my way to work. The lady with short dark hair is very nice to deal with. She always has a smile. The foreign man is lovely to deal with too. In some places you go in and the staff are looking not happy which can bring your mood down but not here. When I go in there is always customers. It is never empty. The large takeaway coffees most cafès call large would be a medium here. Whatever coffee they use here it does not taste bitter. For non dairy lovers or those allergic to dairy protein like me they do coconut milk, soya, almond and oat milk. Their medium coffee cups are so cool. I have seen pastel yellow, green ones and pastel pink for medium coffees and tea. The other morning I was not myself a bit upset. I got coffee here and got it in a pastel pink cup. I instantly smiled and was in a better mood. (One of my nicknames is pinkie). The cafè is small but good for takeaway coffee and they have lots of different types of teas, buns, cakes. They have an area with wooden cutlery, a bin, paper straws and cardboard holder to put around your takeaway cup if it is too hot. They have a board with drawn on it different coffees and the amount of coffee, milk, foam in them. The seating is done clevetly to maximize the small space. If you are dining in it is good if you want to sit in peace or chat with a friend. It is dark inside with dark decor and furniture but it has a big window letting a lot of light in so the dark decor does not look over powering.. It is close to the bus station and a great alternative to puchinos coffee doc in the bus station where there is no cafè seating. It is also by a taxi area. It is almost in the centre area of the city. I have seen people fine in and the cups they get are burnt orange with black speckles and a sauce to match. It works well with the dark table.
