19/08/2024: Had veggie pizza and margarita pizza , best taste I had in a while .

18/08/2024: The best pizza in Ireland. These folks know what they’re doing. Super friendly too. We asked for a Garlic Cheese Pizza bread which isn’t something that was on the menu and they made it fresh with raw garlic and suggested adding a bit of olive oil too. It was 12 out of 10!! Thanks folks!

20/03/2025: Unfortunately our birthday booking on the19th of March did not turn out as expected. I deeply regret not noticing the booking policy at the end of the confirmation email, as I wouldn't book a table here. We brought a small, single balloon and we were informed right away we can not place it up on the table. We pushed it back in the bag, but that wasn't good enough, as they took it away to the room behind the reception, like the weapon of the mass destruction. We made another disastrous decision of bringing a tiny cake for my fussy 11 year old. That's not allowed, but it wasn't stated in the booking email. I'm working in hospitality myself so I understand the allergens issues in the kitchens so we offered that we can have a cake straight from the box after the meal, and the cake doesn't need to travel to the kitchen or bar. That wasn't allowed. Thanks God nobody brought flowers as they are on the forbidden list also. All that have removed the celebration factor out of the birthday party. We tried to understand the point of all the restrictions but that really spoiled the atmosphere for the rest of the evening. We did not spill our frustration out onto any member of staff as we know they are not responsible for all those pointless rules. We rushed through the meal and left for another restaurant where the cake wasn't a problem. We used to love to visit the bar but will definitely not return. I think the whole point of going out to bars, pubs and restaurants is to have a fun night out, which is not only about food or only about the place. It's the whole package of having a good time with your friends and family in the welcoming environment. We can only guess that insurance companies have something to do with it, and if that is the case in few years down the line we won't be able to step in to any premises without signing a disclaimer first.

15/03/2025: I can't remember our servers name, but he was so nice and helpful. His name might have started with a G? We were booked for afternoon tea for 3pm for my friends belated birthday. Our server was very attentive, remembered I mentioned we were meeting for my friends bday and brought out a bday plate for my friend. We got a mocktail on arrival and honey pot when leaving. These touches are so nice, and I'll be recommending the venue to friends and family. I'll be back soon, such a relaxing and nice spot. All the staff were very attentive from the girl at the desk to the server. You don't get good customer service like this anymore so it was so refreshing.

19/03/2025: Food is nice but portions are tiny. 3 breakfasts and coffees for myself and 2 teens.62 euros and everyone was hungry afterwards. If I'm paying 17 euro per breakfast I don't want to be hungry at the end of it!

23/01/2025: Best restaurant ever! Absolutely loved the atmosphere, and the food was fantastic. We ordered the sharing board and calamari – the calamari was simply spectacular! Such an amazing experience. Every staff member was kind and welcoming. Danilo, who looked after us, was especially attentive, answered all our questions, and made sure we had a great time.

13/03/2025: Got 2 hot chicken rolls you think for the price you’d get fresh ones had to be reheated in the oven which made the chicken hard rubber texture nearly 14€ for two rolls that where like eating a brick .

23/03/2025: You are selling drinks and food without toilet. Terrible!!! Or you have toilet but dont say a password of exit. Maybe you like when people is peeing around your business :)

28/02/2025: It is a great idea for an evening with friends or family. Now, I rank the food at 4 point, I thought the quality was slipping a bit, but overall, it's a really great experience, highly recommend. Watch out for deals on their website or newsletter which they email.

07/11/2024: Happy I found this café, authentic with a genuinely local feel. Staff were friendly, great sandwich and super generous helping of tea so it doesn't feel like they're trying to chase you out of there quickly! Can't wait to go back

01/04/2025: Food is usually amazing and I was looking forward to having my lunch in there so i was very disappointed. I don't want to give it low stars as it may have just been an off day for them. I asked for a quesadilla but when i ordered i realized they don't do them anymore. The staff member (short brown haired woman) was very nice (at this point) and said it was ok that they can make it. They did not have to make it for me and if they couldn't then i would of been happy to order just a wrap as the food is usually perfect. I do want to iterate that it was a special request and it was not on the menu. This was a request from me and I should of just ordered from the menu. The leaf and bean profile picture is a quesadilla that i would usual have but it didn't look like that. My mam ordered a ham and cheese toasty and that came down within 5 minutes but after about 20 minutes of sitting there I had to ask the server where my food was and at this point she was a bit rude to me and didn't acknowledge that I had been waiting 20 minutes for my order. I waited another 5-6 minutes and once it came down to the table it looked as though it was sitting out for the 20 minutes and was just heated up. I ate a bit of it but it just wasn't nice. The chicken was flat, the tortilla was hard and very chewy. The entire thing was very flat and very oily too which made me think it was reheated because it was forgotten about. I asked the other blonde tall girl for my coffee and she dropped it down . The coffee is amazing in Leaf and Bean and would recommend it as the best coffee in town. I didn't touch the rest of my meal and no one came down to me to see if everything was ok. I noticed the brown haired server who took the order looking at my direction while she was polishing cutlery but she didn't seem too bothered. I wanted to wait until it was quiet to pay and to say something about my food .i went up to the till and the tall blonde girl was amazed i didn't want to pay for food i didn't eat. The brown haired woman who served me tutted at me and told her to get the owner and made it clear i was a nuisance. I spoke to the owner who was happy to take the food off the bill once i had explained why i didn't eat it. I felt as though the customer service was really bad and not of the standard that it usually is. I have worked in the hospitality for many years when i was younger and I have never made a customer feel like the way i was treated today by the floor staff. The customer is not always right but there is a way to deal with customers and try and listen to them and be attentive to them when they have concerns. I would eat from leaf and bean again but i don't think i will be sitting in to eat again , I will be going for a takeaway.
