The best restaurants in Cork city council

31/08/2025: Butlers used to be name i trusted, but their dark hot chocolate is now awful. It was bad - even tasted burnt. Definitely not worth the hype anymore. I hope they will work on the quality so I can once again enjoy the good old days of that taste.

01/11/2025: Honestly, the best most sincere welcome in a hotel ever from Ken at the door. The hotel was just spectacular in every way. The bar area and gardens were exquisite and what a view!!! We stayed in a 2 bedroom apartment which had everything we needed to cook our own meals. The layout was great for a family of 4 however I would have liked a larger bed in the master bedroom. The only thing missing in the whole apartment was a mirror beside a plug socket for styling hair...I had to wing it without a mirror which meant I had a questionable hair style for the duration of our stay! The pool, jacuzzi, sauna and steam room were fabulous. We walked and bused it into city centre, bus is 5 min walk away or city centre is a 20 min walk. My advice, walk in and bus it back as its a steep climb up to the hotel. Get train to Cobh for an afternoon out or drive to Kinsale 40 mins away, it's beautiful! We hope to return to this little gem of a hotel in the future. Thanks so much Montenotte Hoyel!

19/10/2025: Great little spot for coffee. Fab sandwiches too and always a good atmosphere. Big car park around the back but the entrance is a bit hidden

08/09/2025: Brilliant venue for a small gig It was my first time at this venue and it won't be my last. Monitors where you can't see the performers. Seating is limited so get in early if you're an old fella like me.€6.50 for a pint bottle of Bullmers is very fair for a City centre venue. The only thing I found strange was a plastic container with a glass bottle, But that's venue drinking for you. Definitely highly recommend 💯

30/08/2025: Good venue that gets a good selection/mix of bands. Just saw the lemonheads recently and have seen Mudhoney, Frank Turner, Bob Mould, Buzzco ks, Jello Biafra and many more over the years. Since a makeover the new sound system is much improved from when I first started going in the 90's.

10/08/2025: Visited Route Fourteen with my family for lunch. The food was great, the dining area was spacious, but I have a few points I hope can be considered to improve the service. There were two lunch menus on our visit: one standard lunch menu (same as website) and one specific for the day or week. We ordered from the second menu since they seemed seasonal and more fresh than the regular menu. The prices were similar to other gastropubs around Cork City. I ordered pork belly with vegetables and mashed potatoes. The pork was stuffed with walnuts and dates, a stuffing I would have never thought would taste so nice with pork. Other dishes we had were the "Smash Burger" and Reuben sandwich. We ordered chicken wings with buffalo sauce for starters. Everybody enjoyed their orders but the beef in the Reuben would be better if it was not heated much. For dessert we had a mango and raspberry cheesecake and lemon meringue. Both were presented nicely and tasted amazing. They are best eaten between two people as they are large desserts. We were seated at a bright high table by the window, however we were near a large private booking and I felt a bit under pressure as the staff were setting the tables around us for the arriving diners. Given that the venue was not busy when we arrived, I would have preferred sitting further away from the large group booking. I would highly recommend visiting Route Fourteen on your next day out for lunch or dinner at a gastropub.

22/09/2025: We were on a flying visit back home to Cork and it was a no brainer that we would stop off at this fabulous restaurant. We ate there pretty often when we lived in Cork and always had a really enjoyable experience. We didn't have a reservation but we just wanted to have a good meal before heading off to a Culture Night Punk reunion gig. We told the waiter that we wouldn't be overstaying and he sorted us out with a table immediately. I know the chef, Michael, pretty well as we both worked together a few years ago and he came out of the kitchen to warmly welcome us back. I had the Thai Red Curry with prawns and it was so tasty and had a delicious creamy texture and was immaculately presented. I can't remember the name of the dish my wife had but we both devoured the very generous portions that were put in front of us, washed down with two superb glasses of Sauvignon Blanc. And the whole meal was very reasonably priced. Cork is definitely a great city for restaurants and culinary experience and Cork And Fork is, without doubt, at the top of the list of local eateries. Definitely, DEFINITELY, pay a visit there cos I guarantee you you will not be disappointed.

31/10/2025: Had such a lovely experience at this cafe! Recently found out I was coeliac and the waitress was so lovely and helpful! Food was absolutely beautiful and had lots of options!

18/10/2025: Lots of servers floating around, but no one to take our order at the table. We were the only customers in there early in the morning, eventually ordered at the till. Coffee terrible. Good location near the fracture clinic in Affidea, but disappointing overall.

28/05/2025: This pub is one of those pubs where you go there for the first time and you will definitely like it. It is a pub frequented by locals from this area and surroundings and also when the students are celebrating those student weeks this pub is very cool and laughs from beginning to end. I had the privilege of being there and only with the locals it was very good, fun and very friendly, I really liked it, in fact I loved it and I recommend it to anyone in the area to go there.

27/09/2025: This place was an unexpected gem to find in Blarney Ireland. We have been to Turin italy and the owner is also from Turin and the food shows it. Everything was absolutely delicious best pizza in Ireland. We will diffinitly be back to this place.

13/07/2025: We absolutely love Fernroyd House. My family of 8 stayed here, occupying 4 rooms. Each room was spacious and lovely, each also having its own ensuite bathroom. The made-from-scratch breakfast (including fresh baked scones!) was delicious & the perfect way to start the day. Tony and Avril are amazing hosts. The location is great… bars & restaurants all very walkable. We would stay here again in a heartbeat!

20/10/2025: I love this place sommuch! I've had sushi here, and it was the nicest tuna sashimi I've ever had, and I wanted to try the meals, and now I have I can say everything here is excellent. it's a little expensive, meals are around 18-20 euro, but to be honest out of other options in cork, I have to say it's absolutely worth it
