07/09/2025: €8.95 for a coffee and a scone. Way too expensive. Coffee was nice scone was ok. Got a pastiche de nata also for nearly 4 quid... Really poor left it behind. Staff were really nice.

31/08/2025: I had an absolutely wonderful experience at Mount Oval Bar & Restaurant. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming, the food is delicious and beautifully presented, and the service is outstanding. A special mention goes to our waitress, Sabina, who made the evening truly memorable. She was attentive, friendly, and professional, going above and beyond to make sure everything was perfect. Her genuine smile and excellent recommendations added so much to our dining experience. I would highly recommend this place to anyone looking for great food, excellent service, and a lovely atmosphere. We will definitely be back!

23/10/2025: Had such a great experience here today. Went in with my friend and we didn’t have much time & the waiter was THE BEST. We were only waiting 5 mins for a table and he served us immediately and got our coffee and food for us SUPER quick. He told us he was “determined that we make our lecture”. Great service! We meant to ask his name but we forgot! Great staff 👏

14/11/2025: Overall, I'd never visit again. For the cost the food was abysmal, the staff were perfectly pleasant and the place was clean and tidy.
I'd ordered the Chicken Tikka Masala. The rice reminded me of poorly made boil in the bag stuff, very watery and without flavour, the naan bread could have been used as a frisbee. The curry and chicken were nice enough but honestly for 18 euro it was awful.

23/10/2025: The bar itself is nice and has a good atmosphere, but the experience with the staff was very disappointing. It was actually my first time going there after living in Cork for 9 years — and definitely the last. After we ordered and had only been sitting for about 10 minutes, they put a “reserved” sign on our table and told us we had to leave in 20 minutes. On top of that, another waiter made an unpleasant comment when he came to take our drinks, which made us feel even worse.
There are plenty of bars just as nice, but with much better customer service. We won’t be coming back.
