The best restaurants in Cork

09/09/2026: All three courses are sooooo gooood

06/09/2026: The restaurant is in a beautiful location in blackrock observatory on the cork harbour. It is a 15min taxi which is between 15 to 25 euro each way. The staff are wonderful very friendly and accommodating. Getting the steak and lamb cooked a little more to my dad's and aunt's liking. The food is amazing. We all got different starters, mains and desserts and everything down to the sides that accompany them were well taught out. The restaurant was quiet busy but the atmosphere and service were 5 star the whole night long. We will definitely be going again for another special night out.

22/07/2026: Lovely store, without a doubt Corks best selection of beans. Saturday isnt the same without a trip to Mahers!

05/06/2026: We order the hazelnut coffee regularly and have done for years. Everyone compliments our coffee when they come to our house. We've tried several of their coffees which are all great but we always come back to the hazelnut. Have to finally leave a review when I got a shipping notice today 30minutes after I ordered. We always visit the shop when we're down in Cork and the smell of freshly roasted beans is divine. We've already recommended this place to all our friends.

28/08/2026: I've been to scoozi a lot of times and I've had no problems until today. My partner and I ordered the mushrooms for the starter and two steak and mushroom tagliatelle. We love mushrooms. The mushrooms came out and it was 6 of them, quite small, a small dip, and a scoop of coleslaw on a butterheas lettuce leaf. This was €11.25. I asked the waitress if there was a possibility to bring it back because I didn't feel comfortable paying so much for such a small portion. She said she would ask. She was very accommodating and understanding. A manager comes over, I think Jessica might have been her name, brown hair, tall, and glasses. Asked if it I wanted them taken away and she could take them off our bill. I said okay. She asked if we would like our mains, I said yes, please. She said they would be out and took away the mushrooms. There was a crash of glass soon after and I get up to wash my hands before my mains come. The manager (Jessica ? Tall, brunette, and glasses) stopped me on the way to the bathroom to say that she had taken my starter off the bill and that she made a snarky comment saying she thought I was being inappropriate. I was confused as I went to wash my hands and went back to my table. Once I sit back down at my table I discussed with my partner and I was genuinely confused if I had done something. Maybe her bringing back the mushrooms made her crash into someone and therefore the glasses shattered? Maybe she was blaming me for that? Not sure as I was sitting facing away from the crashing sound. I also asked the waitress if I had done something wrong and she didn't say that I had. I finished my food, and paid. I asked the staff at the counter if that was a manager and if I could speak to her. Danny came and tried to ask what was wrong but I said I would like to speak with the other manager. I just wanted to confront her directly about what she meant. She basically monologued at me and my partner for returning the mushrooms. She said she's spent over 20 years in the industry, if I heard her correctly. That this has never happened before and took her by surprise. She said maybe that I didn't think it was worth €11.25 but she thought it was worth that money. She said everything is made in house, panko breadcrumbs, the cream cheese, the mushrooms etc. There's apparently 3 kitchens. She's gone to many restaurants and has never done this. She said if I had asked for more mushrooms, they would have gladly given me more mushrooms. That they want me to be full and be satisfied with the food. I did not kick up a fuss as I stared at her in disbelief. All I did was nod my head and say okay. I did however bring up the fact that they did not have to let me send back the mushrooms, which she interjected and said she had no problem taking it off the bill and wanted me to be happy. I also said that I would have been happy to have received a different remedy. She never apologised for her comment, which was not an awful comment by any means but felt very unnecessary, unprofessional, and "inappropriate" in my opinion. I would have been okay had she had told me no, it's not possible to send it back and offered to give me some more mushrooms or even if I had to suffer the costs. Instead she just offered to take it back and never asked what the problem was and didn't not try to solve the problem in another way before it resorted to her taking the mushrooms away. She said they had to be binned, which was probably not necessary, maybe one of the staff would have liked them. You would think after 20 or so years in the industry you would learn how to discuss with a customer, different ways of solving a problem instead of taking a course of action that she did not want to take and then confront me and make a snarky comment at me after the fact. I had not spoken to this manager before she came to the table to take the mushrooms but somehow she knew that I was unhappy about the amount of mushrooms but never brought up giving my partner and I more until after I asked to speak with her after paying. Not satisfied today.

21/08/2026: We arrived without a reservation, and were seated promptly. There were seven of us, and some ordered fish and chips, others spaghetti Bolognese, chicken fingers with fries, and barbecue wings. Everything was delicious and very generous. The waiters were very friendly.

30/08/2026: For many years we have frequented here. Absolutely great summer place for us. I am sure the winters are good too. The seafood is amazing and is great value.

10/05/2026: Absolutely beautiful spot. Divine baked goods and lovely drinks. A lovely dog friendly spot too - my dog was delighted with his pup cup!

06/09/2026: Spent a lovely afternoon trying various wines and chatting with the bartenders, especially Chuck. He was very helpful with some suggestions about other areas to visit in Ireland. Had a delightful time and some great wines.

26/08/2026: Had a lovely evening here: reasonably priced wine, nice food. Less dinner/tapas and more picky bits/snacks but staff were very friendly and helpful.

09/09/2026: the build itself is what most impressed me

07/09/2026: We visited for the new, short-term exhibition of the Annals of Inisfallen. It was our first time visiting and we were delighted, it's small but well curated, clean and quiet. We were really glad to see the Annals on display and the exhibition itself was thoughtful and provided a lot of context for the book. It was fantastic, especially for a free public exhibition! The gift shop had some really nice things from local artisans, which is always preferable to the same mass-produced tat. It was sweet to see a plethora of beautiful books in the children's section of the shop- hell, I was even tempted by a few volumes! We also visited the café-restaurant Léa in the basement and we'd like to go back next time to eat a full meal.

17/08/2026: Went this morning and got served by a guy who just came back to work after being away for a few months. Coffee shop was empty we were the only clients. I asked if he could make my flat white in the purple mug and he replied “you either take the mug I put it in or you don’t get your coffee at all”. Sassy! 😵‍💫 Thought we were in the land of rainbows and leprechauns. His latte art was fire but he could work on his customer service because I wouldn’t go back.

11/08/2026: Even though the location of the coffee shop might scare you away at first, it's definitely worth a visit. The barista was super friendly and the prices for coffee were reasonable. The coffee was great, the matcha was fine and the pastry we had was very nice.

19/08/2026: A very cozy, relaxed, and lovingly run café. We had coffee, banana bread, and scones – very delicious.
