The best restaurants in Cork

07/09/2026: We visited Wabisabi Sushi and Noodle in Cork around lunchtime. Overall, I found the food fairly average — nothing bad, but nothing particularly memorable either. For my taste, the dishes lacked a little brightness and depth of flavour. The wasabi also seemed quite watery and not very distinctive. What really impressed me, however, was the absolute cleanliness of the place. The staff were exceptionally attentive, polite, and clearly made an effort to look after every customer. Their attitude towards customers was genuinely excellent. Would I recommend this place? I think yes. It is certainly worth visiting once and forming your own opinion. If you are nearby and simply want a decent lunch or something to eat, this is a perfectly reasonable option. The prices are fair and affordable. However, if you are looking for bold flavours, culinary delights, unusual dishes, or a truly memorable dining experience, I think it would be better to look elsewhere. Personally, I found the food not expressive enough, so I probably would not make a special trip to come back again. Overall, it is a good place for a casual lunch, with fair prices, excellent cleanliness, and outstanding customer service. I am giving 5 stars purely because of the way the staff treat their customers. Their attentiveness, politeness, and level of service truly deserve it.

06/09/2026: Great little place, good value, service and food. You get server a little green tea as soon as you sit down, which is a great gesture which you don't often see done, making browsing the menu and eventually ordering all the more pleasant

10/10/2026: Update Oct ‘26: food was still excellent, restaurant was busy however the service was exceptionally slow. Servers were not at all attentive with the tables they were serving. Left without dessert as we would still be waiting for the menu. Pity. Menu was comprehensive and the food was very good. Service was good. Atmosphere was a little flat, could do more with the decor and perhaps some background Japanese music would be better

06/09/2026: Spent a lovely afternoon trying various wines and chatting with the bartenders, especially Chuck. He was very helpful with some suggestions about other areas to visit in Ireland. Had a delightful time and some great wines.

26/08/2026: Had a lovely evening here: reasonably priced wine, nice food. Less dinner/tapas and more picky bits/snacks but staff were very friendly and helpful.

25/10/2026: Indian is our favorite cuisine and we’ve been all over India. And I can say with certainty that this is as close as you’re going to get. The food was absolutely amazing, the staff were so friendly and the atmosphere was so calm and comforting. Really looking forward to going back and trying some more dishes. Highly, highly recommend the lamb shank

25/10/2026: Waited 1.5 hrs from ordering to delivery. When food arrived it was stone cold, tasty but freezing

05/10/2026: One of the cutest cafes around with vegan options available. A good spot for tea/coffee when near the lake, will visit again.

13/10/2026: Came in with a group of 8 and we had a wonderful time. Pints are cheap, music is good, and bartenders are great. There is a bar in the middle surrounded by areas with bar + booth seating. Bartenders regularly left behind bar to pick up empty glasses and tidy up seating areas. We were there on a night with live music, and enjoyed the music. The age range inside is 18-24 college aged, not older.

07/11/2025: Situated in the center on the corner of North Main Street this bar is a nice upmarket establishment with a cosy atmosphere. The staff were friendly, the drinks cold and the toilets spotless.

05/11/2025: Great service, very attentive. The double fried fries were great, however the smaller ones were hard to chew. Ribs spot on. Can be a bit dark in certain areas

23/10/2026: Ordered on just eat at half past midnight. Waited two and a half hours in which I kept pressing the order still not here button and they kept replying with there is a delay and it is on its way. Only when I called the restaurant did they tell me they don’t even deliver to my area and that they closed at midnight. I asked them why did they accept the order in the first place and they blamed the driver. I asked them to cancel the order and they said that I have to cancel it ( if I cancel it just eat will charge a portion if not full price for the order). Incredibly shady would not recommend

03/10/2026: My dad ordered the steak gluten free as he is a coeliac but when the dish arrived, there were elements of the dish that weren't gluten free e.g. battered onion bits. It is quite frustrating gluten free orders are not taken seriously
