23/10/2025: This is a wonderful restaurant in downtown Cork that I visited on a local's recommendation. The unique interior, with its high ceilings, was immediately impressive upon entering. Both the shrimp appetizer and the steak entree were delicious.
14/10/2025: We had our wedding reception for 120 people in Jacob’s on the Mall, and from our first meeting with Katie to walking out the door when the wedding day was finished, we experienced nothing but stellar service. The venue itself is absolutely stunning, the food was incredible and we had a truly unforgettable day. We wouldn’t change a thing. The staff were exceptional and all our guests have been raving about how great a day it was. Seamless from beginning to end. We can’t thank you enough!

Breakfast - Eggs Benedict or Eggs Royale
18/08/2025: I stayed at this hotel for 8 nights. The hotel staff is very friendly, both at reception and at breakfast and in the restaurant.
The beds are super comfortable.
The breakfast is very good.
The pool is very nice and clean; the outdoor pool is simply magnificent.
The hotel staff at reception, breakfast, and at the spa are very kind and welcoming.
One small drawback is that there is no small refrigerator in the room. Please ask the restaurant and bistro staff to lower their plates and glasses.

11/10/2025: We stayed for one night. The room was nice and modern, and the bed was very comfortable. The garden surrounding the hotel was beautiful. I can't say anything good about the breakfast, though. The staff were very dismissive. The food was cold when served.
11/10/2025: Very pretty location and friendly service. We got in pretty late and left very early the next day so didn’t get much time to enjoy the hotel. We were traveling on our honeymoon and the hotel left us a nice little dessert plate. Really my only complaint was that the room was pretty warm and from what we could see from searching all over the room there was no AC, so we kept the windows open.

08/10/2025: If the opinion an Americans is worth anything, this is the best you will find between here and Dublin.
I’ve eaten seafood in Boston, New Orleans, San Diego, and Seattle, so I feel like I have some experience to go by.
If want first rate food, service and atmosphere at a reasonable price, Quinlans has it all.
We had the haddock fish and chips and the Seafood Stew and Smoked Salmon Open Sandwich.
FRESH, FRESH, FRESH.
If we ever make it back to Cork, we will be returning!

First time posted this review its been few years now I think. Just want to add, it is one of the nicest restaurants around cork. Each time food is better. Love this place!!!
27/09/2025: My three friends and I ate dinner at The Brook Inn last night and absolutely loved it. The food was excellent 👌 I had the Monkfish, scallop & prawn dish 😋 it was cooked to perfection and so good I almost licked the plate clean.
Friendly welcoming staff and nice atmosphere. John was very attentive and made sure we were taken care of, will definitely be back.

28/09/2025: It's become a mess, literally a mess. I used to love going there because the food was delicious and worth the price. But recently – a disaster.
Three times in a row, that wasn't a coincidence. The broth is water. Tasteless, fatless, like yellow-tinged water with three noodles, and that's it. Pierogi cooked in unsalted water. Bland. You could hear the employees arguing in the back. Food remains on the floor under the tables from previous customers.
I'm sorry, but I'm giving up.

I recently tried to have dinner at The Oliver Plunkett but was disappointed with how I was treated as a solo diner. I was told that I would have to wait 30 minutes for a table, while other parties of four or more were seated immediately. I was directed to sit at the bar instead.
It seemed that the staff were focused on maximising profit rather than ensuring customer satisfaction. I have visited the establishment in the past and always found it good value for money, but this experience has made me reluctant to return.
