The best restaurantsof irish in Cork

05/07/2025: The food was great the prices were very expensive over the high rate of living in Ireland plus vat and tax charges. You can't blame that on the restaurants and publicans so five stars all around. Just glad now at this stage that there is still a local pub left around that can serve great food served by nice staff in a busy and yet relaxed atmosphere. It would of being nice if the bangers and mash came with a side of gravy to pour over as an little extra as we Al like our mash and gravy different. Wings were cooked beautifully with Franks wild sauce a bit to spicy hot and vinegary for me next time must try the mild. The big jug of water was welcomed. The burger top notch a few more chips would have been nice as we shared, great that it came with a side salad with colsaw. Nice pint of Heineken pricey €6.50 but that is now the norm over the increase of living costs and trying to keep businesses open still you can find pints cheaper at the moment for now. All in all great experience at the beer gardens great staff service and food nice cozy beer garden out the back with a screen. Good result in the hurling for Cork V Dublin hopefully they can go all the way and lift that heavy cup in the Final.

15/07/2025: It has been a while since my wife and I last visited Jacobs and it was worth the wait. Food as always was excellent and we also enjoyed a couple of gorgeous cocktails. The staff are always excellent and there is always a lively atmosphere here.

06/07/2025: Enjoyed a date night out here. A little higher end than most spots in Cork. Nice menu and plenty to choose from in terms of cocktails. They had Murphy’s on draft. The food menu had a combo option including appetizer and dessert, but we both just went with one dinner item. Both of us enjoyed our meal. Recommended for date.

22/07/2025: Unbelievable food and detailing in presentation was fantastic. We went for breakfast and it was next level. Staff were under alot of pressure but still managed to get our food to us and check in with no issues and a very short wait time. I had Eggs benedict (salmon and guacamole), I also had the chocolate pancakes and my other half had the French toast, it was all perfect. Highly recommend. Price was very reasonable too. Worth visiting Cork again for that place alone.

02/07/2025: Stunning hotel and grounds. Super clean, modern and comfy rooms. Great service and attention to detail and excellent food. Very close by to the city, local amenities and tourist attractions. A lovely spot for a relaxing break.

13/07/2025: As Italian people visiting Cork we have been to this restaurant as one of the best indicated on many sites. Fish was really fresh and fried squid were good however we took the seafood chowder and the sauce was too strong and completely covering the test of the fish. Prown were full of oil. The seebass with risotto, while the fish was fresh the risotto however was not eatable, overcook, too salty; the type of rise used was for boiled rice not for risotto. It was missing in the preparation all the basic steps requied in a risotto receipt. In both Seafood chowder and seebass threwere musselss with the shells however not a plate or a wet towel has been provided to leavethe empty shells and to clean the hands as other restaurant does. Staff was nice and professionall however the food is not worthed the money.

27/07/2025: The food at the Elm Tree is delicious, but (and this is not aimed at the waitresses who served us - it's not their fault at all) the staff are exceptionally young, and not trained adequately. This is the third time I visited, and I won't be returning. Waiting to be seated having booked ahead, ignored by 4 uncertain staff clinging to the wall who couldn't handle my remarking (in private away from my family) that this visit ( a 90th birthday treat) was turning out to be less than special. They were clearly upset by this, feeling under pressure, and tried to make up ground, but this really is a management issue. We sat at the table for 10 minutes before I went for a walk and found the buffet. We otherwise had a sandwich menu just table left on the table. No balloons on the table (requested on the phone, asked for a second time and finally arrived - we were cringing). Please, who ever is training the staff, please do better by them.

26/07/2025: Enjoyed a lovely dinner here - everyone's meals were exceptional. The desserts were also lovely. Staff couldn't have been nicer or more helpful.

14/07/2025: The staff is very unwelcoming and won't even let you finish your drink at will! I'm talking about the waitress and especially the bouncer who thinks he's ruling the roost with his supposedly combative look, but is nothing short of pathetic. In short, I don't recommend it.

04/07/2025: Hit this place just at the right time ⏲️ as it had just opened in the afternoon and we were the second persons to go in. After doing the tour of Cork we needed somewhere to sit down have a drink 🍸 and 🍻 people watch for an hour. It didn't take long for the outside seating area to full up because everyone had the same idea as us. Very well staffed beautiful pub inside, plenty of history and a good selection of beers 🍻 and wine 🍷 👌. Excellent pint of Guinness.

19/07/2025: Muy decepcionado, esperábamos algo mejor dadas todas las grandes críticas aquí. El pan de ajo estaba anémico, no creo que viera una parrilla o una tostadora. La morenita de tomate era tan sosa. Tenía el tagliatelle de trufa, literalmente mantequilla con trufa. No pude terminarlo, mi marido tenía carne con salsa de trufa, su carne tenía un sabor raro, dijo "fuera". Muy decepcionante visita.

28/06/2025: After grey days, my friend and I had the pleasure of finding Marcello's restaurant. Excellent food, "real" ingredients, excellent quality. All served with an excellent Nero d'Avola and to finish an excellent Amaro del Capo. Marcello is an excellent host and together with his daughter super welcoming ... and everything immediately makes you feel at "home".

04/08/2025: My wife and I stayed at the Montenotte Hotel in Cork this past weekend, as we traveled from the States to Ireland for a family friend's wedding. The hotel provided excellent service and an amazing experience. In particular, Jess with the concierge's desk was outstanding: She coordinated travel to and from Dublin to Cork for us and gave us great guidance and service throughout our entire stay. The overall physical plant of the hotel was beautiful; with a picturesque vista from multiple verandas / dining venues. The food was excellent, and the hotel has a great bar scene. It's also conveniently located close to the center of the city, but it still is tucked away in an alcove away from traffic and noise. I would highly recommend this hotel for anyone visiting Cork in the future. Ask for a room with a view from the hill. It is stuning. James Tierney Tang & Melissa Marovich-Tang New York City, USA

01/08/2025: Lovely balcony area for breakfast and evening cocktails, very comfortable bed and relaxing vibes. My air con was tricky to get working, but a perfect stay beyond that!
