15/08/2026: Always love this cosy Little place, Food is good drinks are great and the live music hits the spot, and the young lad who served us last night was fantastic as are all the staff.

22/08/2026: We had a registry office wedding and Bar italia was able to serve a full 3 course meal for my 40 guests. David (the owner) was excellent to deal with and made sure the day went smoothly. He even printed out a menu with me and my husband's names on it which was such lovely gesture. The servers did not miss any beats and everything ran perfectly. The guests absolutely loved the food. I will book them again if I ever have to get married again! Thank you so much David and all the staff at Bar Italia.

20/08/2026: We went at a quiet mid afternoon and had a peaceful lovely meal. They cater for GF diets and all pasta dishes and have GF pizza bases. A truly relaxing experience with great unobtrusive staff.

16/08/2026: I recently went to this restaurant for lunch with a friend. I ordered a salad and my friend had a pizza. The food was good overall, so I would give it 4 stars. Unfortunately, the service really let the experience down. The waitresses kept coming over and asking if we were ready to order, even though we clearly weren’t. It became quite irritating and felt very unprofessional. We got the impression that they simply wanted us to order and leave as quickly as possible. The restaurant was also very busy, which made it difficult to have a conversation and made the atmosphere feel quite overwhelming. Overall, the food was good, but the service made the experience much less enjoyable than it could have been.

10/08/2026: Lovely meal overall, but it did lack flavour. The staff were very good, and is a very comfortable place to eat.

31/07/2026: Passing through the area, we stopped at this small restaurant tucked away in an alley. Excellent, authentic pasta carbonara and cannelloni. Quite generous portions. Pleasant and attentive service. I recommend it.

17/07/2026: My buddy and I stopped for lunch. We had the Beef with mash potatoes 3 veg and a potato croquet and of course gravy. Well portions were big. Everything was cooked to perfection. Meat melted in our mouths. We are 2 working men with serious appetites . We couldn't have dessert. We eat out quite a bit. Today lunch was fantastic . We will be back..

14/08/2026: Had such an incredible dinner here recently. The tomahawk steak was cooked to perfection and presented beautifully on a wooden board. It was incredibly tender and flavourful. The dessert was the perfect finish to the meal. That brownie with a scoop of ice cream hit the spot. I am already looking forward to my next visit to Ashbourne.
