Hilliard's Killarney
Killarney
09/08/2025: Overpriced and very average food. For example €28 for fish and chips which seemed to have more batter than fillet. Uncomfortable seating. Friendly efficient servers. I won't be going there again.
04/08/2025: Very good cuisine, very tasty dishes, attentive staff for this large restaurant with a lovely decor

Roundy's Bar
Tralee
10/08/2025: Lovely staff and cocktails are unreal. Great atmosphere 👌will be back for sure.
09/08/2025: Went here for day 2 of a wedding and it was perfect! The decor was beautiful, cocktails were spot on, and the finger food was absolutely delicious. The staff were really friendly and attentive. A gorgeous setting that all the guests loved from start to finish.

Harringtons
An daingean
31/07/2025: A restaurant right on the waterfront in Dingle. We tried the traditional fish and chips, about €17 for a VERY generous portion. Truly delicious: the fish, incredibly fresh, melts in your mouth, and the breading is wonderfully crispy, all served on a bed of chips. Highly recommended!
25/07/2025: Expensive food which was underwhelming. Some chips okay, others terrible. Chicken almost certainly frozen and strangely chewy.
Seats were very recently cleaned and soaking wet. I was not told so. I and most of my belongings got wet.
Staff attempted to be helpful in a personal matter. Their hands were tied by a woman who I can only assume to be the manager.
The woman was overly aggressive and her reasons for refusing to help nonsensical. She appeared to be drunk on her great authority. She runs a chip shop; a bad one.

Sala Thai
Kells
03/08/2025: Amazing views and nice calm walk
03/08/2025: I recently visited and want to share my experience, especially for others with mobility issues or disabilities. Before purchasing tickets (nearly €10 per person), I explicitly asked at the ticket counter whether there were many stairs or steep inclines, disclosing my disability. I was told quite directly that there weren’t any significant challenges. Unfortunately, this was not the case. There are many steps and steep inclines. I was not able to visit most of the gardens.
After entering, it quickly became clear that the gardens are not easily accessible for people with mobility impairments. There are steep hills both to access the ticket desk and within the gardens themselves. Certain paths and areas also have very rough surfaces (loose stones or gravel), which are manageable only for some wheelchair users and can require substantial assistance to navigate. Despite being told otherwise, I was unable to spend more than 20 minutes in the gardens due to the overwhelming terrain.
While the gardens do have some accessible areas and amenities, such as a disabled parking bay (which is not well signposted and is itself up a steep hill behind a gated area with no clear way to get in or signage) and an accessible toilet, these also come with their own problems. For example, there was a step to access the accessible toilet—not all wheelchair users or those with limited mobility will be able to manage this. The website says "selected areas" are accessible, but this does not reflect the experience for many disabled visitors.
Additionally, there are no concession or discounted tickets available for guests with disabilities, which is standard practice at many other Irish attractions and especially surprising given the limited accessibility.
In summary: If you have mobility challenges or need to avoid stairs and uneven terrain, I would not recommend visiting Kells Bay Gardens. The site is not accessible, and the information provided at the ticket desk was misleading if not out right wrong. If you decide to go and require accessibility, it may help to call ahead for guidance, but be prepared for serious challenges if stairs and steep slopes are an issue for you

Dingle Pub
An daingean
27/04/2025: We decided we would like a bit of “irish” food, so decided to try the Dingle Pub. Everything was great!! We had a good yummy Shepherds Pie. Friendly staff and food service.
21/04/2025: The food was good and the atmosphere was incredible! The live, traditional music and dancer were a highlight of our entire 8-day trip!! We caught the music/dancing around 4pm. Do not miss this special experience if you spend any time in Dingle. Service was great at this family-owned pub.

11/08/2025: my friend and I got takeaway and both our orders were wrong. food tasted ok but definitely wasn't worth the price! wouldn't go back.
31/07/2025: We have been to Grill and Thrill 2 times before and every time the most delicious food, but this time the food was not delicious at all, sweet karahi and biriani rice not cooked well, may be other food was better and we ordered wrong dishes.

Gourmet Grill
Kenmare
17/07/2025: Good coffee, pies and tarts but the service style is horrible. Stay in line at the counter, wait for one staff member to take the order, prepare and take payment. Whilst the other personnel is cleaning stuff. So the customer is not really centric at this place.
08/06/2025: We both had scampi and chips. Everything was cooked perfectly friendly service reasonably priced great food nice, seating upstairs.

Hungry Knight
Sneem
24/08/2025: There is WiFi, no sockets, and the toilet is clean
24/08/2025: I needed a beer to wash down the meal. Cheap food, unfortunately, tasted cheap too. Fries without salt, cut too thick, not crispy, but a great quantity; burger patties are frozen, bacon was charged but was forgotten. The food leaves a bad taste in your mouth.

Killarney Towers Hotel and Leisure Centre
Killarney
20/08/2025: I am most impressed with Riva the restaurant manager's ability to assist me with a low fodmap approved meal for my evening dinner. She recommended either of the salads, and prepared me a special salad plate with shrimp and dressing (for someone who needs a low fodmap menu having salad dressing is so rare in a restaurant setting). She also brought me roast chicken, mashed potatoes (yes, no garlic!) with broccolini and farm fresh carrots. My meal was delicious and I do recommend for someone suffering from allergies. special care and attention are provided! The hotel room has a relaxing vibe from the jacuzzi tub and tea with milk service in the suite. The hotel is nestled between two main streets. Nice to wander and savour the live music, both modern and traditional Irish without any noise in our room. Nice and quiet.
19/08/2025: Stayed here for 3 nights in November, not at all what I had expected from seeing it from the outside from previous visits to Killarney. The car parking situation is not great as it's a 5 minute walk to the where you can leave your car overnight. There is a carpark across the road but it goes by the day and you have to be up and out before 9 to get a ticket. The room was so small and dull, definitely in need of updating. The pool also was small, I understand the location leaves little room for manoeuvre but by pictures etc you could only be disappointed. It's definitely a hotel which is getting it's American tourists by the bus load either way so it neglects certain things. We stayed in Athlone on the way home and there was no comparison. Would never stay again

The Diner
An daingean
25/07/2025: The food is clearly priced at tourists and is a bit on the expensive side. Unfortunately, the food was unseasoned and quite bland.
We had fish nuggets, Margherita pizza, and a bacon cheeseburger.
22/07/2025: Great place! Just got the breakfast menu by six minutes and so glad we did. About on toast gad also halloumi and a fried egg😳 but yum. French toast was delicious also as were the mini breakfasts. You could even get a Guinness ( which we did ) and lovely coffee. Very very pleasant young. Very much recommended 👏🏻👏🏻
