04/04/2025: Great pizza at a marvelous place. This looks fantastic, is well served in a beautiful little church. We recommend this!

03/04/2025: No heat in rooms despite very cold temperatures. Plumbing problems and nobody to address the problems. Very disappointing. And, the response from the ‘owner’ says it all. Condescending and disrespectful. The ‘thermostat’ did not work. Our travel companions had similar problems and, in addition, had overflowing toilet that required opening the windows. No exaggeration.

28/03/2025: Our return to Kells Bay House and Gardens, a place we fondly remembered from 2019, turned into a regrettable experience. We even convinced our friends to join us, which compounded our disappointment. Upon checking in at 1:00 PM, a strong sewage odor permeated our room. We immediately requested a room change. While a suitable room was available, we were told it was reserved for our second night, necessitating a mid-stay move. Despite this inconvenience, we were willing to relocate due to the unbearable smell. After lunch at the excellent Thai restaurant, we were informed a plumber would address the issue at 8:00 PM. We spent the afternoon enjoying the beautiful gardens and bay, and had a pleasant dinner, during which the owner, Billy, assured us the problem was resolved, showing us a picture of a broken pipe. We relaxed in the living room until 11:00 PM, hopeful the issue was fixed. However, upon returning to our room and closing the windows, the stench returned, even stronger. Attempts to contact the hotel via phone were unsuccessful, so we emailed the owner. Forced to endure the fumes, we opened all windows, but the vapors still caused eye irritation. My sleep tracker showed a mere 1.5 hours of sleep. The following morning, staff offered a room change, which we accepted. Had this option not been available, we would have left. The new room was odor-free, but the provided towels were shockingly tattered and torn (see attached photo). We’ve contacted the owner three times requesting a refund for the first night’s appalling conditions, but have received no response. Our friends also experienced significant discomfort, as their heating failed on both nights, leaving them freezing. We are deeply disappointed and will not be returning to Kells Bay House and Gardens. We strongly advise others to reconsider their stay.

22/06/2024: An art gallery showcasing the work of various artists. Mainly painting, sculpture and photography. Polish artists also present their works. There is also a tree here commemorating our composer Krzysztof Penderecki.

31/01/2025: A real Irish pub! Very crowded in the middle of the week, hardly found a free seat, but the atmosphere is great. Of course, beers to choose from, I guess a hundred kinds.

15/04/2025: Unfortunately the food wasn’t great the day we visited. The host was a very nice gentleman. We both got the steak sandwich which came on a very thin cut of toasted sourdough bread. Our steaks were cooked to the incorrect temperatures and were very bad cuts of meat. Maybe very cheap cuts rather than paying a bit extra for good produce. The price of the steak sandwich was €20 euro each so can definitely stretch the budget to buy better quality meat. Disappointing as we were looking for a place to book lunch for our daughter’s confirmation. Will not return and wouldn’t recommend.

11/04/2025: The vegetable soup (cream soup) is exquisite! The girls who serve are very friendly and the atmosphere is very nice!

21/12/2024: It's absolutely fantastic.If you've come on holidays or have just never been there go.I promise you won't regret it.The only downside (kind of) is the place is a bit small but once you get your food you won't be sorry for waiting

05/03/2025: We stumbled upon this place after going to the Dingle Pub only to learn that they weren’t serving food. Divine intervention! The atmosphere, the service, and the food were all lovely. The food was clearly homemade and delicious!! So glad we stopped in. ☘️🙂

16/02/2025: Absolutely fantastic dining experience! The food was out of this world. The pork ribs as starter was delicious. There are big portions of gorgeous homemade sauces. The blue cheese steak is perfect. The staff were very friendly and attentive. I can't wait to go back! We didn't have to reserve over a week in advance and managed to get a 4pm slot. So plan ahead!

30/10/2024: The dogs are always a really fun night! We went during the week so it was quite a quiet evening here but everyone was still welcoming and nice. Enjoyable experience!

16/01/2025: We come to the Stables every time we stay in Kenmare. The staff are always welcoming and extremely kind and accommodating. The service is always on point. The menu changes regularly and they have daily specials and soup of the day etc. The food has always been exquisite. They are very kind with dietary requests and small changes to dishes (removing mussels from a dish for me). The atmosphere is a great mix of fine dining and smart casual. Try the chocolate fondant and go to bed happy. We love this place. Definitely check it out.

24/02/2025: Just a lovely hotel to get away for an excellent value for money break. Excellent bar food with open fires. Breakfast cooked to order which is another huge plus. Our second time staying and we'll definitely be back.
