28/06/2025: Wish I could give anything lower than 0 stars. I ordered a Kebab and first time I saw Kebab served with a Naan instead of a proper Kebab bread. It was not only chewy but difficult to handle also, just mess. No cutlery or napkins provided. Also, the toilets were so dirty with a lot of flies around. Edit: They advertise themselves as Indian restaurant but it is misleading. Neither it is an Indian restaurant nor do they sell Indian food items. Photos are misleading.

29/07/2025: I had one of the most disappointing dining experiences at this restaurant, particularly concerning how they treated my daughter, who is a coeliac. When we informed the waitress of her condition, the options offered were extremely limited—either avocado and eggs (which she doesn’t like) or one of the elaborate sandwiches on the menu served on gluten-free bread. My daughter didn’t want anything fancy. All she wanted was gluten-free bread with gluten-free chicken, both of which the waitress confirmed were available. But then she returned to say the chef would not make that sandwich because it “wasn’t on the menu.” I clarified that I wasn’t blaming her and asked to speak with the manager, expecting some reasonable flexibility. Instead, the manager fully defended the policy, saying this was how they had operated for 10 years and had no intention of changing. I explained that all I was asking for was a simple, safe chicken sandwich for my coeliac child—something that would have taken seconds to prepare. I even offered to pay extra. His response was that the restaurant didn’t even have a children's menu, that it didn’t matter because the restaurant was “flying,” and it didn't matter. This level of inflexibility and lack of empathy is astounding. In a region like the western seaboard of Ireland—known to have one of the highest rates of coeliac disease in the world—this restaurant should know better. Instead, my daughter had to sit watching the rest of us eat lunch with nothing in front of her. As a parent, I was shocked, saddened, and frankly, angry. On the way home, my daughter quietly said, “If only he knew how hard it is to be a coeliac, maybe he would have been kinder.” Elsewhere in Tralee, I have always found customer service to be excellent. This, however, was an exception—an eye-opening, frustrating, and upsetting one. I will not be returning, and I hope this review encourages the management to re-evaluate their approach to dietary needs and basic decency. Absolutely shocking!!!

15/07/2025: Was here 12 months ago, was great, went back last week because we wnjoyed it so much first time....took a spin on the bike from cork all the way to Tralee just to eat a late breakfast and then take the beautiful slow kerry roads home, but not so great this time.... Hopefully they were just having a bad day.

14/08/2025: Amazing tasty food, such big portions and lovely friendly service. Would recommended if you’re just travelling through like we were.

30/06/2025: We did a quick search for a Thai Restaurant in Tralee and this one popped up as no. 1 in town. Unfortunately I realized too late that the reviews were outdated by 5 years. Food quality was lousy. Overcooked rice, Thai Curry was some strange chinese interpretation full of glutamate. Other dishes were also of poor quality.

30/07/2025: Best scone in town (admittedly only place I’ve been, but that’s a damn fine fruit scone!)

12/07/2025: Tuvimos un gran almuerzo aquí. La sopa de calabaza estaba excelente y disfruté el sándwich de jamón y queso tostado. La camarera nos hizo sentir muy bienvenidos.

22/03/2025: Personal grosero, no serviría "no residentes" Fuimos a caminar - en el almuerzo después de visitar Torc Waterfall y Muckross House y Abbey. Nos informó que es resdients solo a pesar de ofrecer reservas en línea para no residentes. En ese momento había muchas mesas dentro y fuera disponibles no hay absolutamente ninguna necesidad de rechazar el servicio. Gasta tu dinero en otra parte.

11/08/2025: The diner is in the 50s american style It's really pretty and the Service is one of the best we've seen so far. They are really friendly and give good recommendations. The food was so tasty in particular the supernova Burger. It's really worth going there!

22/07/2025: Excellent food quality indeed. I tried Makhani Chicken, Tandori king Prawn, Special balti, peswari nan and Mushroom pilau rice.

15/08/2025: The treatment we were given as soon as we entered the restaurant was extremely disappointing and actually quite disgusting! We were a large group, I had booked the reservation months ago and because I was 15 mins early (to a mostly empty restaurant at 4:45) I was told I’d have to wait for seating and the man at the front desk was extremely rude because I had arrived early! I have never encountered such rude and disrespectful behaviour from restaurant staff in my life!! My sister and her friend had to stand for 10 minutes even though there was a room full of free tables and seats. The male waiter did not seem to care! Then he continued to tell an elderly couple to get up off their seats and finish their drinks. He could have easily taken chairs from the mostly empty dining hall!! I couldn’t believe what I was seeing! What kind of treatment is this for customers? I’ve been to the other restaurants in Dingle as I live in the area, and I know for a fact none of them would ever dare to treat customers in such a disgusting way. We asked to change the waiter after this and luckily we had a wonderful older women and she was incredible to us! Thank god the restaurant has a women like her! Otherwise I’m sure it would have been shut down a long time ago! Everything was going fine until we went to pay the bill. The “manager” tried over charging us and blamed people that had already payed and gotten receipts on not having paid. It was a huge issue for her to realise that she was in fact wrong! I could not believe her attitude to lie about people having not paid, that had clearly paid. Even that they had receipts to prove it. She did not even say sorry. When we made comments about the rude behaviour of both the male staff at the entrance and her behaviour she said “write whatever review you want, we have the Americans coming anyway!” … utterly shocking experience. I have never encountered such a horrible dining experience in Ireland. Even another member of staff followed me to the toilet to privately apologise to me for the treatment of other staff members. Stay clear of this restaurant. There are many more deserving restaurants in Dingle that provide fantastic service and food! The Boatyard is definitely not one of them!

10/08/2025: Edited to answer the restaurant's reply: we did have funds, first the waitress said she needed a physical card and we only had our mobile phone because we used it in EVERY establishment without any problems, my husband went out in the rain and went to get it, when he came back the same waitress said the revolut card wasn't accepted, we asked for an ATM to withdraw the money and we used THE SAME card for that, so money on the bill wasn't the problem. The food wasn't great, super small portions for extortionate prices, it's a real tourist trap. I DO NOT RECOMMEND IT. "Bad. They don't accept payment by revolut card and they don't put up a sign to warn you. We had to leave the restaurant to withdraw money in a heavy rain"

21/08/2025: Tips & Improvements Beautiful exhibition space spread over two floors and very interesting porcelain pieces. Unfortunately, the prices are very, very high and often oversized. Tourists aren't the target audience here, which we don't quite understand. We would still stop again on our way along the coast to see what's new. Improvements Offering smaller items with corresponding prices. We honestly don't understand why you don't take advantage of this. As a tourist, you can only fit so much in your luggage, but you're always looking for a nice, unique souvenir as a keepsake. Your shop has a lot of potential there :-)

18/08/2025: A very nicely laid out pottery shop, with plenty of interesting patterns and designs. If you can't make it to the workshop itself, Lisbeth Mulcahy in Dingle town also sells some of Louis' pieces.

22/08/2025: Every time we are in the tralee, this is my family favourite spot to eat, the food is excellent and the price is fair. The main course rangers from €13 to €21 depending on what you want,

07/08/2025: The food is delicious, served hot, that's very good. But we were served by a waitress who kept dropping something, first my fork, she replaced it... the girl was fussy and inattentive. But in the end, when there was a whole plate of chicken left and I had to put it in the box myself to take it with me 😟... the service as well as the attention to the visitors should have been better - more attentive and more helpful!
