The best restaurants in Kerry

28/07/2024: Compared to all the other bar's and restaurants we used in Tralee this was the least friendly bar , barmaid made me feel she was doing me a favour serving me , come on Munster bar catch up !

26/07/2024: We walked in tonight and the bartender glared at us so I smiled and said “hi” and he said “what do you want?” in the most unfriendly tone. It was actually quite funny how rude the interaction was. We walked out and didn’t eat there. The food smelled good though. I’ve just never had an interaction like that in a hospitality setting.

28/10/2024: Myself and 3 friends ate here during Patrick O'Keeffe weekend. The food us amazing served but the friendliest staff. Thus is our second year at the festival and as we ate there last year we returned again this year. A great restaurant, friendly staff, great food. There was a trad session while we were there which made it all the more special. We even danced a half polka stet with the owner. Great fun well worth a visit

28/10/2024: We stumbled upon The Green Door during a road trip, and what a find it was! Although there was a bit of a wait, it was absolutely worth it. The food was outstanding—every bite was delicious, and the quality was top-notch. The staff was incredibly friendly and welcoming, making us feel right at home. I’d come back in a heartbeat if I wasn’t from out of town. If you’re in the area, don’t miss this gem!

05/10/2024: The food is amazing, get the chicken cheese rolls and the house special wudong! It’s beautiful 😍! I recommend it so much ❤️

05/10/2024: Worst food I have ever got in tralee town. Ordered sweet and sour Chicken felt like eating vinegar with chicken and the fried rice was literally disgusting. Never again

12/10/2024: Ordered food and said it would be ready in 20mins. Took 50 mins. Food was ok. Chicken was decent and ribs were good. Chow mein was ok. Not much complaints on that end but timing was way off. Just would like more realistic time frames for collection so I’m not waiting around

20/07/2024: Everything is not specialty coffee. It was one of the worst coffees I've ever had. Like Lavazza quality... I do not recommend it to those who want specialty coffee. It was a big disappointment. The coffee landed in the trash…

25/08/2024: We enjoyed breakfast at the Yew Tree each morning of our stay at the Muckross Hotel. The food was amazing, and the staff was even better. Thank you, Ramone, for your outstanding service and kindness.

17/09/2024: Completely overpriced "attraction", you pay 17 euros per person for a maximum of 20 minutes self-guided visit to the cave, which you can perhaps walk over a length of 100 m. At least the lady at reception was nice and there was an audio guide in German.

16/09/2024: Took my child to the play area at the weekend. At that time there was only children between 1 and 2 suppose to be allowed play in the entire centre. Had my child in the under 2 part of the centre then as well anyway. There was youngsters running around the place jumping over my child and they were nearly as old as the employees hired to allegedly supervise them. It was definitely dangerous. There was no supervision, no enforcement of any sort of rules. It was a disgrace in my opinion. I could have started playing on the slides or whatever myself and started rampaging around the place and nobody would have said a word either. It’s a joke. Won’t be back

14/09/2024: Got a pizza last night, asked for thin crust (so it would be crispy). The man was very friendly in fairness and gave me garlic dips for free. But I got the pizza home and it was the soggiest yoke I've ever had, inedible, falling apart. Threw half in the bin. Forced half down because I was starving. Sound fella but my pizza was awful. Possibly a once off

15/09/2024: To be honest, the place and the hospitality is grand but foodwise i had asked for a chicken donor and burgers. Burgers was not too bad but the donor was awful. No sause was provided plue the naan bread was rock solid, and chicked looked like it was boiled with spices on. Won't go in for food.

08/09/2024: This place saved our lives when all other kitchens in the town were closed. The staff was very welcoming and food delicious. I recommend the Fish and Ships! Very fresh, tasty and crunchy. Thanks!!!

31/10/2024: Fun place for kids and families, indoor games 🏀 ,airhockey, friendly and co-operative reception staff. Bowling can be busy at peak hours e.g evenings at bankholidays book in advance.

16/09/2024: Based upon the reviews, we had high expectations of great service and food. Unfortunately, this was not the case. We had made reservations and were seated right away and immediately gave our drink and appetizer order. Water was provided also at that time. We ordered the Atlantic Prawn for a starter. What we got were 6 very small shrimp floating in oil and a piece of bread. I was hesitant to order prawns again from another restaurant but their prawns were in fact plump and very delicious. So, I know it was not the norm. My husband had the sole which had little flavor and I had the sea bass. The sea bass came in the form of two very small fillets with little fleshy meat. The food in itself was disappointing, but the service was even worse. After our order arrived, we had no other contact with our waiter. We finally flagged down another waiter and asked for more water that never arrived until we received the bill. For our second night in Ireland, it was very disappointing. Especially as we had wonderful fish and chips from a local pub the night before. Not worth our time and money, unfortunately.

07/09/2024: Won't be visiting again, went in 3 or 4 times & every time there is something missing from order & I'm having to get up to pay again, ordered something separate for take away they tried to charge again, food is basic.

29/09/2024: So Bad ! I’ve been ordering fish and chips and requesting to get Tartar Sauce and Salt , I’ve ordered like 7 times and every time they forgot to put the Sauce and the Salt. They put a fork inside the bag , but only when they remember , or whenever they want , didn’t put any napkin. Is the worst service I’ve ever have in my life and I ordered from many places but never like this place ! Won’t order again from u , I wish never know about u. You lost a good customer because u didn’t put sauce so , bye bye see u never again

07/09/2024: The pizza was really good. We ordered The family meal and it was yummy. The chips were really and value for money.. only downside is the cleanliness, they can make the place a bit more clean..
