The best restaurants in Kerry

18/08/2026: Really enjoyed our dinner! We felt unwelcome in another restaurant down the street but were welcomed into their best table when we asked if reservations were needed. Our waitress gave wonderful recommendations and we loved our food. The fish cakes were delightful and I absolutely loved my prawns main! Creamy but light and flavorful. My husband loved his roasted duck as well and duck has been hit or miss (mostly miss) for us in many parts of the world (except for France). We were checked in on twice by two different people, and the staff was quite helpful. The menus were also funny - a little quip about not being psychic so to please let them know about allergies, and instructions for take away if you’re in a hurry because all the food is made fresh. This made me happy - I’m in the mood for fresh clean food and that’s what I got!! Plus cute ambience with string lights, candles, and color combos (no dress code though!). This was absolutely great dinner experience and I highly recommend!

29/06/2026: I ordered the Amber Beef and Beef Chow Fun at Ho Kee. The Amber Beef was excellent — very authentic with strong wok hei, nothing like the watery versions you get from other takeaways. The Beef Chow Fun was also fantastic, loaded with beef and egg, and full of that same great wok aroma. The owner (lady boss) was incredibly nice. When she heard I was rushing to catch a train, she immediately asked the chef to prepare my order first. Really appreciate the great service! 24/07/2026: Old world hotel. No extras such as bottled water, toiletries. They dont matter. Hotel bedroom was spotless. Bed very comfortable. Lovely freshly cooked breakfast each morning. Very helpful staff. Hotel is located in a great place. Will definitely go back again

21/06/2026: I rarely post negative reviews, but this one is completely deserved. I don't understand how this place qualifies as a 3-star hotel. If it weren't advertised as one, my expectations would have been different, but it fell short on almost every basic level: *Check-in: The receptionists were incredibly slow. A long queue was forming, but the staff seemed entirely indifferent. *The Room: There was a strange, dog-like smell that was evident even while sleeping. It was so unpleasant that we avoided spending time in the room as much as possible. On top of that, the noise isolation was poor and it was very loud at night whenever anyone walked down the hallway. *Cleanliness & Maintenance: The bathtub had permanent dirt stains that wouldn't come off. The in-room safe was completely useless as it didn't have any batteries. *WiFi & Parking: The WiFi was quite slow, and the password wasn't even listed in the room; we had to walk all the way back to the lobby to get it. They advertise "free parking," but when we arrived, we were simply turned away and told it was full. *The "Save Water" Irony: The room has "save water" stickers posted, yet the toilet only has a single large-flush mode, making it impossible to actually conserve water. Unless they fix these maintenance and service issues, I cannot recommend staying here.

05/04/2026: I've visited a few times while in Killorglin. Always hoping to get a clearer read on this place, I still haven't managed it. The staff here are genuinely lovely and always pleasant to deal with. No complaints there whatsoever. Portion sizes are also seriously impressive, the price is on the slightly higher side, but the amount of food you get does reflect that, so fair enough. The problem is the food itself and how unpredictable it seems to be. Every visit feels like a dice roll. The food can be delicious, mediocre, or sometimes just simply inedible. There's no pattern to it that I can identify, which makes it hard to recommend with any confidence. My suspicion is an ingredient substitution issue. When they run out of their usual stock, they seem to swap to noticeably cheaper or lower quality alternatives. The chips are a good example, they have a go-to frozen chip that's actually quite good. But when that runs out, whatever replaces it is obviously a large step down. The same issue crops up elsewhere in chicken dishes too. Could be the product, or could be the freshness. Even the sauces can taste totally different each visit, again not sure if its a substitution issue or just how long what they're serving has been sitting out for. It's perhaps understandable for a small family run restaurant managing costs, but it directly affects the dining experience in a way that's hard to ignore. I'd be much more likely to come to spend more money here if they were willing to spend more money ensuring they're consistent with the quality of the ingredients they use. There's a genuinely good restaurant in here somewhere, but until the consistency improves, I can't give it more than 3 stars total.

21/07/2026: Waited my whole lunch break for a sandwich. Did not receive the sandwich. Waited over 40 minutes for a simple toasted sandwich on a relatively quiet day with lots of empty tables. Wont be returning

17/07/2026: I promise you this is the best kebabs in Ireland, I praise the people that work there, they always sort you out with a smile and you leave the place with a smile. Please never stop doing what your doing kebabs 20/10 atmosphere 20/10 the people working there 100/10 I will always come back to this place when I visit my family here in Milltown
