The best restaurants in Laois

14/02/2026: We picked Tracy's for some food on the way back from Donadea Forest park as the menu looked good and it had lots of parking. We got the lunch menu. It was 14.30 when we arrived .Prices were fair and the portions were decent. The chowder my daughter had on the starter was a bit small but her dessert was excellent. Good quality beef in the burger and the chips were very tasty. All the staff were very pleasant. No complaints. Would stop again.

18/01/2026: Nicely decorated restaurants stone walls and ceiling beams,wasn't impressed by the service ! We were waiting 20mins to be even asked for our orders thats criminal !! ,no offer of jug of water or titbits to nibble on as you wait.The food itself was ok the burger is super thin you get 2 on your bun to try make it look decent,the fries were average, also what put me off returning here is the noise of the music blaring I feel like you're competing with the racket playing while trying to have a conversation.

16/10/2025: We were visiting family and went there for something to eat. From getting there it felt like we were welcome. We got our table and Danni Kennedy served us. She was very welcoming and friendly. It just felt that she could not do enough for us. The food was excellent and very tasty.

16/10/2025: Went to Jeremiah’s over the weekend, lovely pub with a lovely atmosphere. We got served by Danni who was very friendly and professional, a credit to your business. Will be returning soon

24/02/2026: Food & service at Eddie's in Portlaoise is amazing. Really not much more expensive than any of the other fast food chains in general, and actually cheaper with app vouchers or daily offers like Kids Eat Free Tuesday. Food is so much fresher and nicer than regular fast food though, and staff are super nice. Definitely worth a visit!

26/02/2026: Unfortunately service was poor location good room couldn't lower temperature below 19° staff lovely and friendly just not managed properly when I eventually got my food it was ok went to the thatch next night lovely food and drink

19/02/2026: If your feeling peckish and in need for good food then it's worth the detour off the motorway and head for O'Gormans Bar and Restaurant in Portlaoise you will not be disappointed.

05/12/2025: The food was amazing, super fresh fish, home made chips, large portions, the desserts were top class, everything was perfect. Polite staff, we loved the cozy and old fashioned atmosphere.

07/02/2026: Good stop option off the motorway. Plenty of space to sit and eat with a number of options of places to eat from too. Hotel next door is also a consideration.
