11/06/2025: Stayed at this pub in our Campervan for 2 nights. All I can say is it is one of the best places we have had a stopover for the hospitality, food, drinking and the Craic. 10 🌟 if I could give it.

03/06/2025: Delicious homemade food, lovely inside and nice service. Chicken curry, chicken and ham and bread pudding were great!

31/05/2025: There are some places that just get it right—every time. For me, that place is Mueller & O'Connell Bakery in Abbeyleix. Whether it’s their signature sourdough, packed with flavour and texture, or their focaccia, light, fragrant, and perfectly crisped—this bakery consistently raises the bar. The craftsmanship, care, and tradition behind every loaf is obvious the moment you step inside or take that first bite. It’s not just bread—it’s what bread is supposed to be. Real ingredients, no shortcuts, and an authenticity that’s rare to find these days. There’s a quiet brilliance in doing something simple, but doing it exceptionally well. And Mueller & O’Connell have that down to an art form. If you haven’t been, do yourself a favour. You won’t regret it.

20/05/2025: An absolutely fantastic bakery in Abbeyleix. I chose the raspberry and elderflower mousse cruffin (a cross between a muffin and a croissant) and it was incredible! I have never tasted anything so delicious. The bakery itself was busy and the staff were nice through it all. I got my food to go and it was still fresh and tasty by the time I got home. I highly recommend everyone to check out this wonderful bakery if you ever want to grab a bite passing through.

19/05/2025: Thank you to Jess Elton and Staff for always delivering the best quality food and service. If you have any occasion and need food delivered and still want it piping hot these people are who you need to contact. I speak from experience after having 2 big party’s and everyone full till the next day with the amount of food they brought. The size never dampened the quality of the food either which we were thrilled about. We don’t have occasion that we don’t use this company for . They will always deliver and never let you down. Nothing like the friendly faces behind the counter and a catch up on a Friday when getting your food . It becomes the weekly routine you never knew you needed . A friendly family feel to the place. It’s a gem in the centre of Portarlington⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

24/04/2025: The best burgers in the midlands !! We’ve been here a few times now and we are never disappointed. The burgers are expensive- €11.50 is the cheapest burger with no fries. However I think it is absolutely worth it. The chicken tenders are also delicious. We will be back again!

05/06/2025: I got two lovely hampers for my PhD supervisors for my graduation. The staff are extremely friendly and helpful. Lots of the stuff I bought was Irish which I really enjoyed since I like to shop local. Brilliant place

28/05/2025: I have been using Grape and Bean for corporate gifting for the last 3 years. And I have no intenetion of moving our business elsewhere!! The service has been first class and I would not hesitate in recommending them.

03/06/2025: Food lovely and staff very helpful. Cutlery and glasses weren't as clean as they should be. Mineral cans served instead of bottles. Not much table space. Man behind me has his chair pressed up against mine and trying to push me more into my own table. My chest was touching off the table. I left without ordering dessert.

24/02/2025: Hare Corner best place to visit when your feeling like a good home cooked dinner, the sandwich menu worth a look and that pot of tea. Just a a lovely homely restaurant & relaxing atmosphere Lovely staff & plenty of parking space.

30/05/2025: Best hotel bed in Ireland for a long time. Room outstanding. Check in desk was deserted after midnight, had to roam around looking for someone. Breakfast pleasant, staff friendly in general.

23/05/2025: Absolutely love this hotel for a real break from it all. Golf, Spa, Swimming, Great food, walks and the staff are so, so friendly and helpful. Always has been and will remain my 'go to' for my little getaways! 👌🏻🤗

04/03/2025: I have frequented the anvil on many occasions over the last few years Always for it's lunch menu The menu changes from day to day and is not operational on Sundays In all that time I have found them reasonable excellent food Would I return I would and the answer is yes yes

25/05/2025: Was in a rush and ended up only having about 20 minutes to get a quick bite with a friend for breakfast. Decided to try the pantry for the first time on a whim. Saturday morning and we were seated instantly, we ordered and had our food within less than 10 mins! Service was fantastic. You can pay at your table using contactless which just made it easier for us. Nice fresh food also and this smoothie bowl was delicious.

23/05/2025: Beautiful café with lots of love for the decor inside and out. Delicious coffee and amazing cakes! The waitress was very kind and asked the chef which cake had the least sugar, as we had a diabetic friend with us. We were on vacation driving from Dublin to Cork and stopped here. When paying, we asked for tips on places worth seeing. We received some very nice and excellent tips (Killarney, Rock of Cashel). Thank you very much! Greetings from Germany ;-)

18/04/2025: Fantastic place for solo or accompanied lunch:) The food is really healthy and nutritious and there's a generous portion of it. If you are protein lover you'll love the salmon and egg options and avocado implemented in sandwiches. This place is very popular and the only drawback are limited space and waiting queue. The latter, on the other hand shows you how popular the place is. Staff are very efficient and lovely.

08/06/2025: Nice local spot. Food was good and service was friendly. If you’re a fan of chocolate would recommend the ‘death by chocolate’ dessert!

27/04/2025: My favorite place to order from. I always order the Avocado burger with the garlic and cheese sauce fries. I was so looking forward to it after work this day but new menu means the Avocado burger is gone 😞 The only chicken burgers they have on menu now is 3 options and there a normal lettuce cheese mayo etc and rest are beef. The 3 chicken burgers on menu are basic so they could of got rid of either one of the chicken burgers or one of the beef burgers even. They took one of the nicest chicken burgers off the menu . I miss the Avocado burger please bring it back and keep it 🙏🏽 Either way i love eddies and i await to hear its back on menu 😊

31/05/2025: When you call in a a takeaway they always ask you for when?? When you answer this question by saying 'when it's ready' they say 5 10 or 15 minutes but when you get there that 5 minutes turns into 15 minutes. When you go to collect you stand in an alley and nobody comes to the window to ask you what you ordered. Sit in might be alright but they can't do take away. Don't This is not the first time neither, they leave customers completely unattended in the 'alley'

20/05/2025: We went to Croft Alley for my hen and it was nothing short of exceptional. Gale the owner was incredibly accommodating providing us with a sharing menu for our large group and every single one of us were raving about the food after. We had gorgeous sharing starters that had something for everyone. We had to make ourselves stop eating more and wait for our main courses but we really didn't want to stop!! The main courses arrived and we didn't think it could get any better! The pizza and pasta were absolutely delicious. The different spritz's were also gorgeous! Everything was 10/10 and I cannot wait to get back to Croft Alley again. To top off a lovely experience, we went into the pub next door for a drink and one of the staff members from Croft Alley dropped in our leftover pizza in pizza boxes for us to bring home! Amazing service all round!

29/05/2025: I like this pub, good atmosphere, warm and friendly culture. Friendly and helpful staff, always up for a chat. Live on regularly, fantastic outdoor area. Good vibe, great Guinness. Well done Kavanaghs team, luv your work 👍🫶

20/05/2025: Best pub in town bar none. Great place to watch sport, listen to live music and have the craic. The staff are also very friendly and the service was excellent. To top it off the pizza is delicious!
