13/11/2024: Dog friendly, staff were so lovely, food was wholesome. Lovely atmosphere and the dogs loved all the attention! Can’t wait to go back again!!

09/11/2024: We ate in the bar. I could not praise the young man serving us highly enough. He was so pleasant, attentive and friendly. Made for a really relaxed atmosphere. Well worth a visit.

21/10/2024: Astonishing place. It is meant to be a take away coffee shop, but there are some stools to have a sit.

19/10/2024: Best sourdough bread for miles - excellent spelt bread. All cakes and pastries glorious, with some gluten free options.

23/10/2024: There was a birthday party going on however the service was still great and fast. I had the Grant's Burger & my partner had chicken goujons and chips. My burger was 10/10. Goujons were nice as well. The server was nice and checked in on us a few times. The music wasn't too loud and the atmosphere was nice. I wish I'd taken a picture of my burger but I forgot. Anyways, I will definitely come back again the next time I'm near Laois.

19/10/2024: Lovely Breakfast here in The Pantry, Portlaoise. 6 of us , got a table no problem out in the Rear in the garden room. Food, Great, missed a lovely Sausage, not on this Menus. I had maple bacon and eggs ( scrambled ) which was delicious and the home made brown bread ( not toasted by choice ).

07/09/2024: 10/10 pizza and 10/10 service. My partner and I called in on a busy Saturday night and the team accommodated us, making us aware they needed the table back in 45 min which was more than enough time for us to enjoy our delicious pizza. The restaurant has a great vibe too!

23/10/2024: I went for Brew Cafe's breakfast, and it was delicious, freshly made poached egg with avocados and sour dough bread. It was really tasty, and I would recommend a visit when in Portlaoise.

19/10/2024: This cafe is by far leagues above anything else in Portlaoise. The food is always spot on with amazing flavours and the staff always have a smile. Been several times now and can confidently say this is my go to for a nice treat for breakfast or lunch. You just HAVE to try the pancakes.

17/11/2024: Disapointed with the fillet steaks which were tough and although replaced without fuss the excuses given by 2 different servers were ridiculous.One stating that the knives were possibly blunt, which is irrelevant when trying to break down tough meat in your mouth.The second stated thst they wil contact their supplier. Starters were ok but overall a 2 dtar experience.

16/11/2024: We were a large group of ten out for a family celebration. The atmosphere was wonderful and we were well treated from the beginning. The food was of excellent quality and the staff managed the orders with great professionalism considering the size of the table. A special mention to Artis who was pleasant and attentive and to Angela and Conor for seeing us off. We'll be certainly returning again and look forward to another fabulous night at Kelly's.

03/11/2024: 40th birthday dinner for 15. Food was excellent, staff friendly and efficient. Great value for money. Definitely recommend. We'll be back 😀

27/10/2024: Ruchi in portlaoise was recommended by my sister's and it really lived up to the recommendation. The staff, setting and food was excellent. Falal our waiter was really attentive and friendly. The food was really of a very high standard. The decor was very sophisticated and comfortable

10/11/2024: I tried to have dinner here with a group of friends yesterday to celebrate my kids birthday. We didn’t make a reservation since it was a spontaneous plan, and we arrived around 5 pm when the restaurant still had many empty tables. I completely understand that we were a large group and didn't expect a single large table, but I asked if they could seat us at tables close to each other. Unfortunately, the staff didn’t seem willing to accommodate us or offer any alternatives. When I called at 3 pm to check availability, I was told they don’t take reservations for large groups over the phone and to send an email instead. However, by the time we arrived, we were simply turned away. It was disappointing, especially since many friends had recommended the food here. The lack of flexibility and dismissive attitude left me embarrassed in front of my friends.

Shocked to see the price increase (but understandable) same meal less than a year ago cost us €20 less 🙈 madness.. The girls had enough to deal with fussy customer but kept smiling 👍🏻

23/09/2024: We dine in many eateries in and around Kilkenny and Ashbrook Arms one off the best by far food is always excellent ,generous portion sizes .Service is exceptional from all the staff .Highly recommend .

03/09/2024: We recently attended a family wedding in Durrow and had the good fortune to book into the Ashbrook Arms for 2 nights. The accommodation in the Courtyard was beautiful, it accommodated all of us in individual units. We had a delicious meal on the evening before the wedding and the breakfasts were first class. Paul and Rosezita are lovely hosts, and they couldn’t do enough for us. We plan to go back again just for the food and the accommodation.
