30/07/2026: Best scones in Limerick!! Possibly Ireland! I’ve spent 3 weeks in Limerick, and made it my mission to sample as many scones as possible, I’ve probably tried a dozen different places in Limerick and a handful outside and nowhere has been able to touch the quality of these scones! Perfectly baked crispy crusts, soft fluffy centers, always served with butter, jam and whipped cream. If you are looking for a good scone, you’ve found the place!

11/08/2026: I visited The Old Quarter pub this afternoon. The chicken burger was very tasty, I had mashed potatoes instead of fries. I was disappointed that the chicken fajitas aren’t on the menu anymore though.

04/08/2026: We were very lucky to get a table the evening of a concert in Limerick. We stumbled on this place, and it will be forever seared in my memory as the best fish and chips I've ever had in my life. I have had a lot of fried fish in the United States, and some of it has been pretty darn good, but this was outstanding! Flaky fish and the batter was perfectly crisp and seasoned with something very, very pleasing! The dessert... oh my wow! if I recall I think it was apple pie or apple crisp... fresh whipped cream!

09/06/2026: Stayed there a couple of times so far. its off the beaten track, we found it because we wanted somewhere central to stay with old friends who are dotted around the country. Food great, rooms great, bar gas a wide choice

13/08/2026: I was looking for a local bar away from the city center and stumbled upon Charlie Malone's, a friendly and totally laid-back bar. Its atmosphere is amazing and always makes you feel at home, even if, like me, you're not Irish. Don't hesitate to order a drink from Joe!

05/08/2026: The Top House is a great pub. Donal and his young team behind the bar are very friendly and professional. They pro-actively seek out customers looking to be served, unlike some other local barstaff who try to avoid eye contact at all costs. It's clear that Donal puts in considerable effort in training, developing and coaching his team who aspire to develop the skills that you would see in the busiest and best pubs around the world (especially in the US). They are also very good at judging whether to have the sport on in the background or, if it's a big match, play the commentary and make it an occasion! The food is really excellent - especially the fish and chips. I'm also a regular for their breakfast - which is great - served quickly and fresh. The pub also has a separate area for events which can comfortably cater for at least 60 people. We held a family birthday there recently - which went really well. They coped with a large food order without a problem, and all the alcohol prices are maintained at pub level rather than the premium you would pay in any restaurant. I would thoroughly recommend the Top House for a quiet drink with friends and family, or to celebrate a big occasion.

14/05/2026: What a gem! I had such an enjoyable stay here earlier this week. It's certainly not your typical bland, business hotel but feels very special with beautiful decor as well as a friendly, professional and personal service. I loved the comfortable room and the little touches such as rosemary bathsalts and proper tea/coffee brought to the room as well as a delicious breakfast. Highly recommended.

30/08/2026: Great experience. Waiter spilt coke on birthday girl and didn't take any action. We were left to.deal with it.
