Wilton Hotel
Bray
29/09/2024: It was okay.. we only needed a room for the night on our journey. I would have been disappointed if we were going to be staying multiple nights but it served its purpose for us.
26/09/2024: Slightly old and tired. It’s a traders stop with a small bar beside reception and basic food menu. Not a place to visit but not the worst if you stop for the night

08/10/2024: Very clean place with fast and friendly service
Excellent and plentiful food, spectacular chips!!!!
Super recommended!!!!
05/10/2024: I wanted to say that Chicken kebab is not a chicken cutlet in breadcrumbs cut into strips and wrapped in naan bread. The meat should be seasoned with kebab spices like lamb. I bid you a cold farewell.

Joanne's Restaurant
Arklow
12/09/2024: Visited Arklow today with our HYPOALLEGENIC Lhasa Apso and where looking for somewhere to eat. The tourist information office recommended this cafe so in we went to be met by the most rudiest person . She pulled a face that implied we and our dog were vermin . By all means if dogs allowed have the courtesy to be polite . Needless to say, if you have a dog Arklow it is not the place to go. And just for education purposes Lhasa Apsos do not shed hair, they are clean and hygienic dogs . I would not waste my money in this cafe if that is how they treat customers with or without the dog
10/09/2024: Had breakfast here 3 days ago, really enjoyed it I would recommend it

Four Star Pizza
Bray
14/10/2024: Great fresh pizza and snacks at a reasonable price
08/10/2024: This review has nothing to do with the food as it's always been quite good and the service as well. This review is for the frustrating website update that will try anything to refuse your order. Sitting here for the past 30 mins trying to order through the four star website but wouldn't let me order. Had to go onto the just-eat website and it wouldn't let me customise the pizzas either so decided to order from Apache instead. Ordered in less than 5 mins. It's a bit silly losing a €150+ order for a party of 15 over a website. Should really get onto your IT department to sort that out because if I'm willing to switch to Apache I'm guessing others are too.

05/11/2024: Great Pizza, unfortunately the rest of the menu let's this place down, Southern Fried Chicken is Terrible and the Chips ain't much better. Again, Great Pizza but the rest of the menu is poor.

Apache Pizza
Arklow
21/07/2024: Food is disgraceful the people who work here are very rude pizza was like if some drove over it extra toppings where never added but thanks for let me know your service towards me so wrong
18/07/2024: I have just read the about section for this place and it is completely untrue, this is not the best pizza in Arklow it is the worst I've ever had in my life, the pizza is too big and the sauce and cheese are disgusting and the other stuff such as the chicken and chips are awful and are very bland.

Delightfully Delicious
Arklow
03/10/2024: Some customers smell of cow dung and sit inside as if nothing had happened, they don't even wash their hands. A disgusting place in the middle of the countryside. Must be closed or customers who smell of cow dung must be banned. They sit inside, trying to look smart, even putting on a shirt, while you can see the cow dung on their shoes, and the smell coming off them.
13/08/2024: Lovely coffee and lovely staff! They have been so kind to me, Sean and the staff helped me, gave me a lift because I was lost and didn't know where to go. Absolutely recommended!

Avoca Fern House Cafe
Kilmacanogue
11/11/2024: Food, service and standards are very good my only issue was the noise in the place. With surround glass windows and tiled floors the chatter of people echoed and it was very difficult to hear the people at my table.
02/10/2024: Used to be a lot nicer. They don't cater for vegetarians well in the Fern House restaurant. The setting is beautiful though.

The Carraig
Greystones
10/10/2024: A Rock of a pub!
**🍻 The Carrigg in Kilincarrig: Where Legends Brew 🍻**
Nestled amidst the quiet of Kilincarrig, this mythical pub emerges like a forgotten treasure chest. Its timeworn door, etched with tales of yore, beckons wanderers and dreamers alike. Step inside, and you'll be swept away by an intoxicating blend of history, magic, and camaraderie.
**The Atmosphere:**
Imagine a symphony of laughter, clinking tankards, and haunting ballads. The air hums with secrets whispered by ancient stones. The hearth crackles, casting shadows on the faces of patrons—pirates, poets, and lost souls. The walls, adorned with memories, harbor the echoes of countless toasts.
**The Libations:**
The Carraig's brewmaster, a sorcerer in disguise, concocts elixirs that defy reason. Sip the "Mist of Lugnaquilla," a potion that transports you to Arthurian realms. Or perhaps the "Whispering whiskey," which reveals forgotten truths. And when the moon waxes full, and the Carrick Curse flows with brews that bind hearts and fates.
**The Enigma:**
Legend has it that the pub's cornerstone was laid by a banshee, her wails etching magic into the stones. The mirror behind the bar reflects not your visage but your soul's deepest desires. Beware the hidden door—the one that leads to Avalon or oblivion, depending on your courage.
**The Carraig's Oath:**
"Here, all are equal—kings and beggars, poets and pickpockets. Raise your glass to the moon, for she knows our secrets. And when the storm howls, remember: The Carraig shelters not just bodies but dreams."
So, fellow wanderer, step into the Carraig in Kilincarrig. Let its whispers weave your destiny, and may your heart find solace in its ancient embrace. 🌙🔮

Mickey Finn's
Redcross
03/11/2024: Spent the day touring spectacular Wicklow taking in the Autumnal sights.
Wanted a pub meal and found great reviews for Mickey Finns so called in.
Lovely ambience in the pub and comfortable tables with plenty of space. Staff were very attentive and efficient too but never hurried us at all.
A good sized menu with a choice to meet anyone’s needs.
2 starters served being soup of the day and spicy chicken wings. The soup was delicious and served with 2 tiny loaves of gorgeous bread. The chicken wings were stunning. Spicy sauce and tasty blue cheese dressing and so much meat on the pieces too, best chicken wings I’ve ever had.
Next was mains, perfectly prepared mussels and skinny fries and so many mussels but all devoured, second main was my steak and chunky chips, wow steak served rare on a bed of spot on mushrooms and amazing chips crunchy outside and fluffy inside.
A brilliant meal but, for the first time I can remember we were actually too full for desserts….
We will be back with our family as it was so good and great value too
30/09/2024: This place is amazing it has its own tasty brewery, a hooly show, a friendly bartender, and excellent food as well.

Germaines
Baltinglass
25/10/2024: Great food fabulous service
And good value for money 💰
17/10/2024: 1st time visit. Went for a carvery. Hostess was on the ball spotting us in the crowded pub looking like lost puppies. Explained the layout and off we went. Great choice of food. Got the beef and it was like butter. Nice big portions too. I'd bathe in gravy so asked for a side order of it and chef happily accommodated. T'was a little bitter for my palate but hey-ho. Overall a great experience and would definitely go back.
