02/07/2025: A return visit. Had a lovely time here with a good friend. .The food was delicious as usual but this time there wasn't a big choice on the menu. Informed that was the menu now for a Tuesday. Staff as usual very kind . A great atmosphere. Great parking. Lots of beautiful goods in the shop to choose .

10/06/2025: I don't usually eat salads but they are fantastic here. Soup was gorgeous too. It's my fav spot to go when anywhere near the area.

07/06/2025: Fine sports bar. Just be aware there hasn't been food for over six years. Only good beer, good people, and hopefully good sports.

20/02/2025: Easily the best coffee in town! On top of that, the staff are incredibly welcoming and always go out of their way. Highly recommend!

09/08/2025: This pains me to write this review having dined here for over 25 years. I was hear previously about 6 months ago and had a terrible meal but I refined from writing a review although it was really bad but I gave the benefit of the doubt. Anyway onto today’s meal….the starters were all unbelievably cold to the point I questioned whether the chicken was cooked. The main were also very cold with the portions exceptionally small. It was so disappointing. It’s pain me to say this as it’s been part of my child hood for so long but it’s the last visit I’ll ever make here again. Really disappointed and unfortunately the place hasn’t evolved with the times. Poor, cold quality food, small portions and average service. Please avoid.

16/09/2025: Christmas breakfast for the grown ups. Great food, or at least the breakfast that I always go for is (Turkish eggs). Recommended.

07/09/2025: Excellent brunch here this morning. We had a Crushed Avocado with poached eggs and a Veggie breakfast. Each was accompanied by a beautiful salad. Lovely dining room and friendly service.

05/09/2025: The Grain Store is a cozy and inviting restaurant in Ireland, perfect for any occasion. The outdoor seating is lovely on a sunny day, while the fireplace creates a warm, welcoming atmosphere indoors. Great food, excellent service, and plenty of charm make it a spot worth visiting.

02/09/2025: Two adults, two children, Sunday lunch. To start with the positive, most of the food here was fresh and tasty but our experience was completely soured by an undercooked dish and a Fawlty Towers level of service. My husband, who would normally order a medium-rare steak, began poking at his chicken dish. I could see that it was pink, even from where I was sitting. We called the server and her reply was exactly this, 'to be fair, I think that's fat'. Huh?? 'Well could you please bring it back to the kitchen, it should not have left the kitchen'. A minute or so later she returned triumphant, 'the chef says it's perfectly cooked'. It was not. It was chicken on the bone. And it was pink. 'We can do you another one or put it back in the oven' Huh? But it's perfectly cooked right?....'okay, well can you please put it back in the oven?' It's undercooked, it's pink and it's inedible. You know, if it walks like a duck and talks like a duck....but let's not get hung up on the bird puns. So, the rest of us continued eating and ten minutes later the 'perfectly cooked' chicken returned along with great fanfare...and extra potatoes...oh, and extra salad - not sure what they were for as there was already plenty of those on the table. So much for cutting back on waste. Anyway my husband finally got to eat and we got to watch him eating. Great. After that we didn't feel like hanging around for coffee and dessert so I can't comment there. This was a birthday occasion, supposed to be a little treat but we all left feeling a bit deflated. It feels here that they've forgotten that you are actually paying money for the 'privilege' of eating there and I tend to agree with a previous reviewer that it is over priced for what you get. So, to sum it all up, we will not be back nor will we be recommending this place to anyone.

19/07/2025: I’m posting this review for one Reason, for a staff member who I didn’t catch the name off. An older gentleman who I asked to get a prize for my 10 year old Nephew. My Nephew has ADHd and Sensory issues. Without me saying anything this man, gave my nephew all the time in the world, allowed him to test out different prizes for there feel, touch. In minutes my Nephew was telling him his story. His Kindness was everything. My Nephew didn’t stop talking about it for rest of the day. He made our day trip to Bray. Thank you Sir.

19/01/2025: Pretty disappointed to be honest have been a customer for years and tonight they cancelled my order said I was being refunded, I rang them they explained that an item wasn't on the menu ,I picked a different item and they said look you'll be refunded soon we will ring back and take payment ,10 mins later nothing in bank these refunds take 3_5 days

15/02/2025: I cannot express how disappointed I am with my experience at Elephant and Castle. What was supposed to be a romantic Valentine's Day dinner turned into an absolute nightmare. From the moment we walked in, the staff greeted us with hostility, setting the tone for the rest of the evening. When I mentioned I wasn’t sure what to order yet, the server rolled their eyes at me—an incredibly rude and unprofessional gesture. They then barked, “What ye want?” in a tone that made me feel like an inconvenience rather than a guest. This was not the warm, welcoming atmosphere I expected, especially on a special occasion like Valentine’s Day. The service only got worse from there. We were completely ignored throughout our meal, making it impossible to order more drinks or even get the attention of the staff when we needed something. To make matters worse, I witnessed something utterly appalling: a staff member took drinks off a table after the customers said they weren’t the right ones, and then proceeded to serve those same drinks to another table. I was horrified to see the couple at that table take a sip, completely unaware of what had just happened. This level of unhygienic and unethical behavior is unacceptable. This rudeness was experienced by many as I spoke to fellow guests who also complained and felt the same way The entire experience was embarrassing and frustrating. I would never recommend Elephant and Castle to anyone, especially not for a special occasion. Save yourself the disappointment and dine elsewhere. This place is a complete letdown
