The best restaurants in Cork city council

13/08/2026: The breakfasts are fantastic! Everything is super good, the service is quick, and the staff are incredibly friendly. Since we've been in Cork, we've only been coming here for breakfast! You can sit inside or outside. Highly recommended.

31/08/2026: Quite a lovely experience. Staff were immaculate, so extremely attentive and friendly from the get go. Our main was out within the first 30 mins of our booking (after devouring the lovely pork belly starter prior). I had the mushroom tagliatelle which was very delicious but extremely cheesy which made me feel quite sick and I couldn't finish it sadly. My partner had the steak which he enjoyed and it did taste amazing. We shared a bottle of wine between us which was gorgeous too! €120 for two mains, a starter and a bottle of wine which isn't too bad! The hotel itself is very classy and the bar area seemed nice and was quite busy on the Friday night so we didn't stop in. The only problem I had with the hotel is that the ladies toilets are a bit old and could use with a refurbishment. Awkward layout and not a lot of cubicles. Overall, I really recommend Helena's! I would come back again on another occasion.

05/08/2026: The service was 4/5 👍. Unfortunately, twice we were served food that belonged to another table, but I understand that mistakes happen, and it was actually quite funny. Unfortunately, my burger was very dry and in places badly burnt, which made it taste bitter. Even worse, my daughter's chicken sandwich contained a bone! Thankfully, it didn't end with a broken tooth.

12/06/2026: €14:90 for the most disappointing eco chicken curry from eco at the marina market. No curry sauce & tough chicken. We live close by so opened it at home & it was not eaten. What a waste of money.

12/07/2026: There was a singer on a Tuesday which was great because the concert we had come to cork to see had been canceled. The bar was well decorated creating a welcoming feel. ( Shame about the upstairs loos! ). There may have been something going on I wasn't aware of but the service wasn't the best on this occasion. Very serious staff, zero chat. The little crowd that had formed made the night.

03/08/2026: I think I've just about gotten over the fact that this building previously housed the wonderful Roches Stores, however this Marks and Sparks is an excellent department store with a particularly excellent food section. good. Nice cafe on first floor, but no toilets there. Staff are a mix of indifferent and very helpful. Great central location in the city.

You can sit down on a cozy couch and get some work done on your laptop or sit outside and watch the world go by all the while sipping on amazing coffee and they have delicious lunch options too. Ooohh and the brownies are to die for!! The fantastic background music always draws me in.

25/05/2026: I tried a sausage roll with black pudding. It was a fantastic modern twist on a traditional Irish flavor. It was freshly baked and fragrant, the dough was crispy, and it was generously filled. Locals were coming in one after another to buy them, and I loved the homey atmosphere. It's easy for tourists to enter, and I highly recommend it to anyone who wants to experience authentic Irish flavors. Thank you for letting me use your restroom. Tá sé ar fheabhas🇮🇪

18/08/2026: Went there for dinner with my brother. I got the masaman curry and it was delicious. The portion was large too. I got a lot of chicken in my meal. I have food allergies and loved that the menu by the door outside tells you what allergies are in what dish. I loved how they split the menu into different sections like stir fry, noddles, rice dishes etc. It is very small inside but if you can get a seat there go in if you want dinner. They also do these drinks, Palestine cola, Palestine lemon lime. Brilliant atmosphere inside and people from all different backgrounds went in while we were there. Worth a visit if you like noodle, curry dishes and if you have any of the main food allergies there should be a dish or two to suit you. You can also order food for takeaway or delivery within a certain distance. I don't like spicy food and my curry was not one bit spicy. My brother got a spicy dish he loved. They are open 3pm to 8.45pm Tuesday to Saturday. They are closed Sunday and Monday. I will definitely be going back to this hidden jem again. The prices are not bad for what you get.
