The Olde Glen

20/09/2025: Great pub, hospitable owner, just like an Irish pub should be, with its interior, charming little lounges, and relaxed atmosphere. Tip: For those who are tall or large, mind your head as you enter the pub with a slight bow.
07/09/2025: Holy cow! Who would think that a bar, a bar way in the hills, would produce such incredibly good food. I'd give it 6 or 7 stars if I could. It is worth the drive. A real destination restaurant. Compliments to all the staff that made our dinner for 40 so unbelievably good. Two 👍

30/11/2025: The restaurant was absolutely gorgeous — elegant, warm, and perfectly inviting. The food was outstanding from start to finish. Each dish was beautifully presented and bursting with flavor, clearly made with fresh ingredients and real care. Customer service was just as impressive. The team was friendly, attentive, and professional throughout our visit. A special mention has to go to Richard, whose warmth and enthusiasm made our experience even more memorable. He went above and beyond to make sure everything was perfect. Obrigada, Ricardo! Overall, it was a flawless dining experience — exceptional food, wonderful service, and a stunning atmosphere. Harbour Restaurant

Donegal
01/01/2026: We enjoyed a delicious dinner. The ambiance, service, and food were all excellent. I highly recommend it! Thank you for a wonderful evening.
19/11/2025: Up for business and got the fish & chips. Fish portion was big and tasty but everything but for €22 it would need to be. Frozen chips and tiny portion of peas. €9 for a glass of wine. Donegal town just feels like a price gouge for tourists.

Nancy's

Ardara
08/01/2026: Nancy’s Bar in Ardara is the kind of establishment that captures the soul of Donegal the moment you step through its traditional red doors. This family-run gem manages to feel both like a step back in time and a masterclass in modern hospitality. The highlight of our visit was undoubtedly the fantastic full selection of oysters. Brimming with the fresh, saline bite of the Atlantic, they were expertly shucked and served with a precision that honors the quality of the local catch. Following this, the open prawn sandwich was a delight generous portions of succulent prawns resting on hearty bread paired perfectly with a bowl of seafood chowder. The chowder was velvety and packed with flavor, avoiding the common pitfall of being overly floury. While the pub's popularity means it can get quite snug and bustling during peak hours potentially leading to a short wait for a table the atmosphere is so authentically warm that you hardly mind. The service is efficient yet retains that genuine Irish charm that makes you feel like a regular. Nancy’s isn't trying to be a polished gastro-pub; it’s a characterful, honest sanctuary for seafood lovers. It remains an essential stop for anyone traveling the Wild Atlantic Way.
05/01/2026: Nancy’s is truly a hidden gem. My partner and I decided to visit Nancy’s on a whim on our road trip. We were delighted to have what we can easily rank the best fish and chips we’ve had. We also tried the Seafood Chowder, which was great. We’ll definitely visit again!

Seaview Tavern

03/11/2025: Always a super meal and pint here - crab toes are a must!
30/10/2025: We stayed two nights at Seaview Tavern during our Malin Head trip, and it was just perfect! The room was clean, cozy, and had a lovely sea view. Both breakfast and dinner were delicious, and the bar downstairs had a great local vibe, we really enjoyed our pints there each evening. The staff were so friendly and attentive, and Mike, the owner, is simply amazing - always around for a chat and full of great local tips. A true Donegal gem with genuine Irish hospitality. Highly recommended whether you are visiting Malin Head or exploring the Wild Atlantic Way. We will definitely be back!

Ballyliffin Lodge & Spa

Ballyliffin
10/11/2025: Everything was perfect till 10pm then the music started, ok its a wedding but it went on till 2am and the base drum banged out 180 beats per minute like a rave only it was country music mostly then, people chatting and laughing till after 4am. Other than that is was wonder with beautiful views friendly and efficient staff more than ample parking fantastic spa and gym suite
06/11/2025: Just back from three nights at the Ballyliffin Lodge and Spa. We had a great time enjoying our stay including swimming a couple of times in the pool and getting massaged by the bubbles in the jacuzzi. Must give Jacks bar and restaurant and the breakfast staff a mention for friendly service.
