The best restaurants in Donegal

21/07/2025: The hotel didnt look great from the outside but inside is bright, clean and well maintained. The room was a good size and spotless, but oppressively warm and it made sleep difficult. It could do with air-conditioning of some sort and the fan supplied was of no help. The pool and facilities were clean and well kept. The staff throughout were really great, very friendly and helpful.

18/07/2025: We stayed in the Clanree hotel for our 30th wedding anniversary and I have to say one of the best experiences, hotel is beautiful, staff are lovely and the hotel is ideally situated . I would definitely recommend this hotel and I would go back there again.

18/06/2025: Really nice hotel, great views especially if you have a room looking out over the golf course. If you're a golfer you have complimentary golf in Buncrana golf club, which is a lovely bonus, it's a nice little 9 hole course. All the staff are nice and friendly, good bar food and nice breakfast

13/08/2025: Arrived here bank holiday weekend...had no hot water in the shower for two days....complained and asked to be moved..told hotel was full... Complained again at checkout and we were offered an upgrade on our next visit. It's supposedly a four Star hotel... No customer service. Would not visit again. Very bad service in the bar.

19/08/2025: Very disappointed with the visit. The bill was quite large, but in fact we ate almost nothing because of the terrible quality of the dishes. Tom yum soup was thick, gelatinous, like jelly, I have never seen anything like it, with four shrimps - absolutely not what it should be. Rolls - we have never seen worse: rice porridge, avocado green and hard, "Philadelphia" without Philadelphia cheese. For all our comments, we were offered a discount certificate, but this seems strange - we are definitely not going to return to an establishment with such a level of cuisine and service. The service did not leave the best impression: no one cleared the table, we had to free up space ourselves. The waitress was unpleasant, unfriendly! The price does not match the quality at all.

18/08/2025: A lovely, authenticly styled venue with a great takeaway menu also. The food is always delicious.

20/08/2025: Great service, very quick turnaround even when busy. Generous amounts of milk with the tea and butter with the bread too.

02/04/2025: I was in Bundoran for a few days playing music and stumbled across this café on the first day. The food was excellent and the service 2nd to none. I didn't have lunch anywhere else the entire time I was in the town 😂. Was looked after very well, and can't wait to come back.

07/06/2025: I highly recommend this place. From Guinness to hot whiskey, they have everything your heart desires (hot whiskey is best only if you're sick or really into it), the staff is full of love, and the atmosphere is heartwarming (like the hot whiskey I tried). If you're in Bundoran, you should definitely go there!

17/07/2025: Absolutely amazing fish supper and it was pretty quick as well. Just a note that it's cash only but there are plenty of machines about. Top tip is go head down to Ballyness Pier to eat something fishy 🐠

10/08/2025: Booked to stay two nights but unable to go for first night of stay due to family emergency. I tried to book in the following day but was met with the most appalling reservations manager who refused to let me avail of my paid accommodation and accused me of not contacting hotel to tell them of my delay. I had to show details on phone to prove I had. Clearly my room was given away as they had a wedding booked in that day. I was told the delay booking in was due to them moving my room to quieter part of hotel. It wasn’t, the room was above the ballroom. So I was kept awake till 2am with noise from same. The room was grubby and not worthy of a 4 star hotel. I did email the hotel with full details of my complaint. Unfortunately I did not get any response whatsoever! Most definitely will not be returning!

08/08/2025: Disappointing arrival, problem at reception on arrival, I would have imagined a more pleasant arrival, given the standing of the hotel, shame!

14/06/2025: The atmosphere isn’t the best as the couch is a bit old and sticky but apart from that it was grand. The service wasn’t bad there was just a language barrier. Food was amazing best spice bag I ever had.

07/05/2025: Chicken chow main and egg fried rice really nice, spice bag was really salty so couldn’t eat it. Would go Back but wouldn’t order a spice bag.

07/03/2025: A great restaurant that serves quality Asian fare. The only reason I cant give it 5 stars is due to fact that their prices are a little extravagant for the portion sizes you receive. Still highly recommend !

26/04/2025: On purchasing a family meal deal which included pizza, garlic bread, chips and Popcorn chicken and a bottle of drink, on collection I was presented with a 500ml bottle, I'm not sure how a family can share out 500ml between them total cost €27 I then had to buy 3 cans costing €6 extra , total cost €33 Inc recycling fee, note the bottle and cans did not contain the return symbol to get the deposits back. Food was ok but feel I was ripped off by a sneaky move!

23/04/2025: Fantastic food and great service, you may have a longer wait at times but the food is worth it their "Full House" pizza 🍕 is fantastic
