The best restaurants in Donegal

22/06/2025: Awful experience. Deceived us with an overpriced fake menu. Attempted to scam us with a fake bill of €150. Terrible portions. Nothing is exaggerated or false about this review. Zero stars if I as able. We had a group of 8 and we were handed a menu with extortion pricing that was priced higher than their menu shown on the website. One person from our group paid around 45 euros for a steak and soft drink meanwhile, their website shows the steak is only €24.95. We then had 2 unexpected guests on the way which we notified the staff of, so we were moved to another table. After we all paid individually, I was told there was still €150 left on the bill which was shocking. I had to call all my friends back in and show them the remaining total printed on a receipt given by one of the staff which included cheesecakes, pints, turkey and ham dinners and more. I told them we ordered none of this. However, the waitress lied claiming she remembers bringing us cheesecakes meanwhile the rest of the staff and manager were so confident we had ordered everything they said we had ordered and lied that we still owed €150. I was stunned by what they were trying to do. It was obvious we weren’t from the area as we were up from Dublin for the rally. So I guess the very deceptive manager advised his staff to absolutely rip us off as much as possible. The prices on the menu they gave us were insane compared to the prices listed on their website, at least a 50% increase. Around 8 euros for 5 of the smallest chicken wings I had ever seen without exaggerating. More bone on the chicken wings than meat. I have no idea how they have managed to gather such a good review rating after our experience there. We’re up every year for the rally and will definitely never return here. I’m happy to let every car enthusiast I know who go to Donegal ever year to not step near this place.

15/06/2025: Me and my family were staying here for one night after going go-karting, as soon as we walked in there was an absolutely beautiful lobby. The receptionists were very kind and pointed us in the right direction. We went into the room and it looked good to start until we looked at our view to see the worst view I’ve ever seen. Just a roof with solar panels. The room its self was pretty good, although, the heating was uncontrollable. It was very hot during the night. No wonder they give you a fan to cool down. The beds were very comfortable but very very small. Altogether i would book a different hotel if you hate warm rooms.

14/06/2025: Recommended by a fellow traveler this hotel did not disappoint. Spacious lobby, lounge areas and rooms. Pool and sauna areas well run and serviced. McGettigans lounge was a pleasure. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Harry, from India, was as Donegal as they come ~ a gentleman. Gavin was beyond helpful with local recommendations. All the staff were great.

14/06/2025: The atmosphere isn’t the best as the couch is a bit old and sticky but apart from that it was grand. The service wasn’t bad there was just a language barrier. Food was amazing best spice bag I ever had.

08/06/2025: A very nice 4 star hotel with great service. Located on the Main road, this property serves well if anyone wants to stay in and around this area to visit Mount Errigal, Magheratoy beach and many more places. Staff too is very friendly and helpful - going beyond their service for guests. Recommended to anyone who is looking for a nice stay and food.

07/06/2025: I highly recommend this place. From Guinness to hot whiskey, they have everything your heart desires (hot whiskey is best only if you're sick or really into it), the staff is full of love, and the atmosphere is heartwarming (like the hot whiskey I tried). If you're in Bundoran, you should definitely go there!

10/06/2025: You ruined our anniversary night We had reserved the hotel restaurant for our wedding anniversary, and I even told the receptionist I was willing to pay extra for something special. But not only was there nothing special, after we finished our main course and were waiting for the dessert menu, they just dropped the bill on our table out of nowhere! No one came to ask if we wanted dessert or more drinks. No one cared it was a special night. Unprofessional behavior and complete disrespect toward guests. I’m not spending another penny in a place like this.

18/05/2025: My partner and I had dinner here over the weekend during our stay at the hotel for my 50th birthday celebrations. We were shown to our table which was comfortable with plenty space. The restaurant appeared absolutely spotless, welcoming and cosy. Immediately we were asked if would like too order drinks, which we did, these were brought to the table soon after ordering whilst we looked at the food menu. The food choices we made were absolutely outstanding, I can’t praise the standard of the food enough. We stayed on after dinner for more drinks and for the entertainment which was excellent as well. The atmosphere was really nice and friendly. The staff, when we ordered more drinks brought them too our table which was helpful for me personally as I am on crutches! My partner had the Guinness which he said was amazing and I had a few Strawberry Daiquiri’s which were the best I have ever had! The young girl’s serving did not stop the full night! They were friendly, efficient, professional and very competent. I would definitely recommend this restaurant too other’s and I would definitely return some time in the future. (Sorry I forgot to take a picture of our main meals which were absolutely delicious)!

07/05/2025: Chicken chow main and egg fried rice really nice, spice bag was really salty so couldn’t eat it. Would go Back but wouldn’t order a spice bag.

07/03/2025: A great restaurant that serves quality Asian fare. The only reason I cant give it 5 stars is due to fact that their prices are a little extravagant for the portion sizes you receive. Still highly recommend !
