The best restaurants in Donegal

11/11/2025: No functioning toilets !! But the coffee machine was working!!! Go figure!!!

24/10/2025: they do not even deserve 1 star. We , along with our friends visited this spar on our way to Donegal. The lady in the payment counter was really rude and racist with us . We bought some food from there and was waiting for our friends to come back from washroom and this lady came and told that dont cross this line , even when we were staying in a distance. Such persons do not deserve to be in customer service . This incident happened today on 24th oct 2025 after 9.30pm.

22/08/2025: A great pub with a great atmosphere. Shows lots of sport and has traditional live music. Has a beer garden out the back. Is enjoyed by young and old. Relaxing during the day but can get very busy and noisy in the evening at weekends but that's not a bad thing. Staff are always very friendly.

02/11/2025: Great experience altogether! We did the (Halloween) jail break solving puzzles and opening many locks. Our jailer did a fantastic job keeping an eye on us, leading us along without giving too much away and adding a bit of history at the end. And although the kitchen was about to close, we were able to sit down with a quick snack and lovely cappuccinos and hot chocolate (trying to escape from a jail cell makes you very hungry). We say thank you to all the staff to give us this fantastic experience!

28/10/2025: We had a great time at the Halloween jailbreak (we were pretty useless but we had a great guard!) fascinating authentic and fun! Great food with a licensed bar too - all very reasonably priced. Free parking. Highly recommend! 1adult & 3 teens all thoroughly enjoyed! Thank you!

09/12/2025: Allingham Arms is perfectly located off the main road entering Bundoran. Plenty of parking at the side and around the back of the hotel. The hotel was beautifully decorated for Christmas which gave an amazing backdrop for taking beautiful photos. The front desk staff were very friendly and very informative giving us great advice for our night out. We stopped by all recommended hotspots and had a fabulous evening in town. There is a fabulous bar and restaurant for enjoying a few drinks to start your night off right. The room was clean, quiet and had all of the usual amenities you would expect. Fabulous pubs, clubs and the necessary late night food options were all within walking distance from the hotel. The front desk arranged a taxi for us as we were wearing heels yet walked back. We had planned our night which would allow us to be close enough to do so. We will definitely return soon! So put the Allingham Arms Hotel on your list when thinking of heading to Bundoran. A big thanks to all of the wonderful staff who made our visit spectacular!!

14/10/2025: While not there on an overnight stay, we did have the opportunity to visit. Lovley sea view, and dining area. The bar/lounge was worthy of a good rating. Staff we interacted with were friendly and helpfull. Will definitely have to stay over on my next visit.

26/10/2025: Always love coming in here — the atmosphere is great, and Antonia behind the bar really makes it. She’s friendly, professional, and somehow remembers everyone’s order with a smile, even when it’s packed. It’s rare to find someone who consistently keeps things running so smoothly and makes every visit feel personal. She’s a real credit to the place and deserves to be recognised for it.

05/12/2025: Chicken Nuggets and Chips Was Delicious I Bought It For Delivery Today 5th December 2025 The Delivery Driver Is So Friendly and I Had A Medium Meal. I Would Order Here Again.

01/08/2025: Popped in to Have Chips and a Tea ☕, before a visit to the Regional Culture Centre. It was a nice and quick service and always good to be there. For My Latest Visit I got a back on the Menu Pork Rib Sandwich with Chips and a Tea and the Item is still Great Since it was last on the Menu and well Recommended.

24/04/2025: Perhaps we should have sticked to the cakes which looked delicious, but it was lunch so we had soup which was a joke. It was meant to be vegetable. It was very watery and tasted like stock cubes. The wrap and sandwich were ok but too expensive.

07/12/2025: Great Roadside cafe. Good food at reasonable prices, staff are great and its open late.

20/05/2025: Now this is what I call a good old fashioned Irish pub. Decor welcome Guinness all great. We didn’t eat but stayed there all night

22/09/2025: Ordered fish. It left alot to be desired. Fish was fresh. The batter was disgusting, smelled and tasted of uncooked dough. So disappointed. Id glad drive past and go to Friars Glencar.

07/12/2025: Very disappointed with Matts dinner, I have enjoyed the food here before but recently I called in and ordered the pancakes with bacon syrup. Well the bacon was perfect but the pancakes where store bought and not very nice there was one I couldn't even cut through with a knife and fork! Get your act together Matt

23/09/2025: Lovely folk running a cracking diner. Great for an early morning Irish fry, pot of coffee or a nice wee tea!

20/08/2025: A bartender named Garreth is the most rudest man ever. Shocking. My step mum came to letterkenny for the night and asked for his name as he was serving us so she could leave a good review and he just kept giving her dirty looks and refused. Fair enough. Later on that night my step mum accidently knocked her pint over and he sighed and gave her another dirty look, she asked for a tissue and he completely ignored her and went on to serve other people. My friend had to go around the bar looking for tissues to clean it up as garreth clearly cant do his job. Weird man.

14/08/2025: Brillant hotel. Every part of the hotel was spotless. Room was well decorated and very comfortable. The staff on reception were very friendly and helpful. Food and staff in the restaurant were great. Will definetly book here again.

21/07/2025: The hotel didnt look great from the outside but inside is bright, clean and well maintained. The room was a good size and spotless, but oppressively warm and it made sleep difficult. It could do with air-conditioning of some sort and the fan supplied was of no help. The pool and facilities were clean and well kept. The staff throughout were really great, very friendly and helpful.

18/07/2025: We stayed in the Clanree hotel for our 30th wedding anniversary and I have to say one of the best experiences, hotel is beautiful, staff are lovely and the hotel is ideally situated . I would definitely recommend this hotel and I would go back there again.
