Kate's Kitchen Newtown
Ardara
07/07/2025: The online shop is a fantastic place to find lots of excellent local products. Lovely people and great customer service!
14/06/2025: Kate’s Kitchen is a charming little café with a warm, welcoming atmosphere that feels like a home away from home. I spent about €15 on a hearty brunch — the eggs Benedict was perfectly cooked and the portion generous. The food tastes fresh and homemade, nothing fancy but genuinely satisfying. The service was friendly and relaxed, making you feel comfortable from the moment you walk in. The cozy, rustic vibe makes it a great spot to enjoy a slow, easy meal with good company or some quiet time.

Olde Castle Bar, menu
Donegal
07/07/2025: Gorgeous food! Generous portions and cooked to perfection. Friendly service and cosy interior
04/07/2025: Wouldn’t recommend this place. Was staying in Donegal for a few nights. Saw this place from the outside and thought I just had to go in as it looked very nice. Went in and was essentially treated as if I had wandered into a restricted area, bar staff asking what was wrong and no food available I had not even managed to say a word yet. Told them I only wanted a pint, and this seemed to them to be an inconvenience. They then tried convincing me to get food and a lady with glasses came over asking if I was getting a table or not as if I was greatly disrupting the entire restaurant by only wanting a pint. I don’t understand why they were asking me if I wanted a dinner table if I am just having a pint? There is such a thing as upselling in the restaurant business, but this place honestly felt more like walking into a commission only car dealership was ludricious how ignorant the staff were. Overheard staff making jokes about a foreign family who couldn’t read the menu quick enough for their liking. I’m happy I went here just to know it is never worth visiting again.

Peppers Diner
An bun beag-doirí beaga
24/06/2025: Food is always lovely with big portions, if it’s breakfast lunch or dinner you get a fulfilling meal, right beside the ocean also if you get a takeaway you have lovely views
10/06/2025: Nice vegetarian lunch; I had a baked potato with salad and coleslaw on the side, husband had a cheese toastie and chips. A trip to Peppers isn’t complete without ice cream (Kinder Bueno for me and Biscoff for him). Good food and service.

John Eoinín's
Gleann cholm cille
22/06/2025: We stayed overnight and enjoyed it. The rooms are extremely modern had everything we needed. It felt very luxurious. The staff is extremely kind and we're very helpful. The food was really good too. Being above the bar I was worried that I wouldn't be able to sleep from all the noise but we honestly didn't hear a thing. And they had live music that night as well! I would 💯 stay again.
18/06/2025: Lovely clean room with beautiful view, the staff were friendly and the cost was very reasonable.

Thyme Out
Letterkenny
16/04/2025: First timers and 3 generations had a bite to eat here after over 2 hours in Tropical World. We had cooled down whilst waiting for the children to run themselves ragged in the covered but outdoor play area. On entering the cafe, it was warm and inviting until we spotted people leaving a table and went to make a move to get it and were informed of the queuing system for a table by a staff member and a couple in front of us who would get the table. We waited probably about 5 minutes for another table to be vacated: it felt quite long with 2 children aged 6 and under who were hopping from one foot to the other. In the meantime, we ordered a latte €3.50, cappuccino €3.50, 2 fruit shoots (€1.50 each), one chocolate brownie €3, one coffee cake €3 and a slice of lemon meringue €4.95. Coffees and tray bakes were very good but star of the show was the lemon meringue which was DIVINE. Overall, I thought here was quite reasonable given the climate. We thawed out, warmed up and got our sugar hit and rolled out of here. We would return maybe for some quiche next time and definitely some lemon meringue 🍋😋.
