27/10/2025: A very homely wee cafe. Eggs Benedict was very good and arrived very quickly. Service was friendly and fast. Couldn't ask for more at these very reasonable prices.

18/09/2025: Have a Good day everyone! Looking for a place to eat deliciously and have a great time? Everything here is simple, yet interesting, and most importantly, heartwarming! The cooks, waiters, and staff do a very difficult and routine job so that even the smallest bread crumbs taste incredible. Thank you for your hard work, which earns us respect and a desire to return again! You can bring your pets here, and you don't have to worry about anything else. Yes, you can use Aldi's parking, but that's not a minus, but rather a plus! Overall, it's a very good place. I recommend it!

09/10/2025: Craic was 90, ambiance was 90. The heart and soul of the Ramelton community can be felt under that thatched roof. A roaring fireplace, some incomprehensible accents (we’re American), and lovely photos of a coconut headed man and his trusted donkey will make you feel right at home.

12/08/2025: Lovely country estate house that has been refurbished beautifully inside, food in the nearby restaurant was fantastic as was breakfast in the morning. They were a bit short on staff, probably as quite quiet to reduce overheads, but they were all fantastic and really friendly.

03/08/2025: We recently stayed at Rockhill for one night, having been influenced by the many positive reviews on Google and Booking.com. Unfortunately, our experience did not align with those expectations. Our check-in time was scheduled for 3:00 PM, but we arrived at 5:30 PM after returning from Sliabh Liag. Despite arriving well past the official check-in time, we were still made to wait for an additional 45 minutes before receiving our room keys. Upon entering the room, we found the bathroom had not been properly cleaned—there was a used razor left behind. Furthermore, only one set of towels was provided for two guests, and there were no tissue papers in the room. The sleeping arrangement was equally disappointing. Although we had booked a double room, the bed consisted of two single mattresses pushed together, resulting in an uneven and uncomfortable surface. The hard mattress edges made it difficult to sleep properly, and the overall night was restless and uncomfortable. The following morning, we were asked to wait another 15 minutes for breakfast, which we did not mind. However, my husband’s Eggs Benedict arrived with a strand of hair in the food (photos attached), which was extremely off-putting. To the staff’s credit, they were courteous and did apologise for the inconveniences. However, by that point, the damage had already been done. For the price we paid for a one-night stay, the overall experience was disappointing. The only redeeming qualities were the hotel’s scenic surroundings and the aesthetically pleasing decor in the reception and waiting areas. Regrettably, we would not recommend this property based on our experience.

06/03/2025: A nice place that pleasantly surprised me. From the outside, it looks like a typical fish and chips shop, so at first, I wasn’t sure whether to go in. However, I’m glad I did! The food exceeded my expectations. The beans were perfectly seasoned, and the baguette was fresh and crispy, making for a simple but delicious meal. The portion size was just right, and everything tasted homemade. The atmosphere inside was cozy, and the staff was friendly and welcoming. If you’re in the area and looking for a casual but tasty bite, this place is worth checking out!

04/10/2025: Great atmosphere, service and food. Our favourite restaurant since being in Ireland! We sat on the bar side and the menu was excellent. The fires were warm and the service even warmer, especially on the cozy couches, on a stormy evening. Cocktails were also superb. Wish we were staying near for our whole trip so we could have another meal at the Red Door!

03/11/2025: Popped in here today for a bite to eat and found it to be top notch. Service with a smile, food came out quickly and was excellent whilst reasonably priced. I really enjoyed the grub, good home style cottage pie, really tasty. Would definitely visit again if in this neck of the woods.

05/08/2025: Visited Letteykenny in Ireland for a short break, had seen reviews. Definitely have to book so popular. Lovely options to choose from. Decided to go straight to the main, I had the lamb shank special of the day, The lamb just fell off the bone, buttery mash with good selection of vegetables, some as purée,and a tasteful jus to bring it all together. My husband had the cod with fish pie, a beautiful chunky piece, definitely a hot pie with creamy mash. Both our plates were completely cleaned. I had the meringue with fresh fruit and compote, meringue crispy and chewy just the way it should be. A lovely atmosphere in the restaurant. Staff were very attentive and polite. Very good value as well. Would definitely recommend The Yellow.Pepper

29/10/2025: A very welcoming pub with good music, pool, and darts. The people were lovely, and there were lots of young people with whom we spent the afternoon playing darts.

13/10/2025: Whilst on a driving holiday around the whole of Ireland we stopped off in Donegal & what a fabulous night we had! First we ate at the Olde Castle then we crossed the road and had a great night full of Irish Craic - it was simply the best night we had!!!

17/06/2025: Busy busy busy but this small eatery was well worth the wait - absolutely delicious chicken pie and Quiche but served with a lovely mixed salad - very reasonable and very tasty. Will definitely be back and would recommend - remember it was busy but that's a good sign

16/04/2025: First timers and 3 generations had a bite to eat here after over 2 hours in Tropical World. We had cooled down whilst waiting for the children to run themselves ragged in the covered but outdoor play area. On entering the cafe, it was warm and inviting until we spotted people leaving a table and went to make a move to get it and were informed of the queuing system for a table by a staff member and a couple in front of us who would get the table. We waited probably about 5 minutes for another table to be vacated: it felt quite long with 2 children aged 6 and under who were hopping from one foot to the other. In the meantime, we ordered a latte €3.50, cappuccino €3.50, 2 fruit shoots (€1.50 each), one chocolate brownie €3, one coffee cake €3 and a slice of lemon meringue €4.95. Coffees and tray bakes were very good but star of the show was the lemon meringue which was DIVINE. Overall, I thought here was quite reasonable given the climate. We thawed out, warmed up and got our sugar hit and rolled out of here. We would return maybe for some quiche next time and definitely some lemon meringue 🍋😋.
