24/12/2024: We happened to be in town and fancied breakfast so here seemed a good bet. I had the avocado +poached eggs and decided to add bacon, whilst my companion had the large fry The bread, avocado and poached egg were nice, in fact the basil oil around the plate added an extra zing...I do wish I hadn't added the bacon as it appeared either deep fried or re cooked in some way as it was brittle and lacked flavour The fry was below par. Plenty of it but over cooked and perhaps not drained as the over whelming flavour was oil. I swapped one of my poached for my partner's fried egg and wished I hadn't as it was very far from runny and oily tasting. The staff are attentive and friendly and run the front of house efficiently but I do think the meals are a little on the pricy side

04/03/2025: Mr Chippies The Mountain Top. Great Dinners with Meat, Veg and Potatoes. Great Staff very friendly and very helpful. Plenty of parking too. Easy access for wheelchairs etc. Definitely worth a visit.

26/03/2025: If you're looking for nice and peaceful restaurant then this place should be on your list for sure -- THE RAMBLING HOUSE BAR & RESTAURANT. These restaurant is at Main St, Laghy, Laghey, Co. Donegal. The food we ordered was served incredibly fresh and was flavorful as required. We ordered Vegetable curry with Tofu option and Chicken Grilled Burger and to complete the meal at last we had ordered their Chocolate and Guinness Cake. The food was quite okay as there was nothing great to differentiate from other restaurants taste wise but their Chocolate and Guinness Cake was just yummmmmmmmmmmm. The staff were knowledgeable and helpful, offering great recommendations to try from the menu. The restaurant is huge and has loads of seating area and tables to accommodate a very large number of people. The soft lighting and comfortable seating created a relaxing and inviting environment. The ambience was very creative and relaxing. One can just freshen their mind by just looking at the decorative and creative pieces and arts all around. Every hanging piece of art had their own caption and own meaning to standout. The bar section is totally a place to look at. It was perfectly organized highlighting all the types of liquor they serve. Talking about the parking, there is plenty of parking space available at the back of the restaurant and they also have outdoor sitting as well to enjoy in the nice weather. Do not keep high expectations on food. The food tasted decent enough to eat so not a problem for eaters like me who do not seek 5 star taste and service everywhere. Overall a nice place to enjoy your time.

20/03/2025: Very quiet, still it was early in the day.

11/02/2025: Located in a fantastic area right in the town centre, when we arrived we sat in the bar part of the premises, the front bar was warm when the back part where we sat was very cold with no heating on, staff was very friendly showed us to our room. Rooms where in a good condition for the price, the carpet was stained, and there was some floaters in the kettle. The heating in the room was extremely hot this left me unable to sleep, when we return to the room and I noticed the radiators were blasting I turned all off, also my partner burnt his hands on the water as it was extremely hot very quickly. Overall it was an ok spot for the price

31/12/2024: Lovely old man’s pub. Good atmosphere, friendly staff, nice and cozy, good Guinness. The only bit of advice would be to get the door to the bar fixed so it closes automatically, as everyone leaves it open as they come in.
