The best restaurants in Donegal

02/11/2024: Always a great experience at Matts,whether it's eating in or taking out. Food is 10/10. Staff are super friendly, and a few times I have dined inside with my children, and staff always go above and beyond with them.

05/06/2024: We had a Doner Box and a Chicken Wrap. Both excellent and the chips (fries) were some of the best we have had in Ireland. Clean place and very good, friendly service.

25/08/2024: We were just looking for some where to eat and the sign just caught our eye and thought we would give it a go . It was lovely lots of seating and ong the outside sitting area was amazing pity it was raining I would of loved to sit out . Any way got our seat by the window and looked at the lovely garden hanging baskets and tubs .. A lovely lady the owner came took our order food came the only thing that let it down I had the fish it wasent fresh fish and frozen skinny chips. Would of been better fresh chips as we were in kerrykeel famous for fresh fish .. the other half had steak done the way he liked it, it was lovely .Pudding was just yummy I had carrageean and he had sticky toffee pudding just lovely .. diffo I would go back.. so get yourselves there it's worth a visit

31/05/2024: Good selection on the menu and nice size portions. Food was amazing and not a long wait. Cosy atmosphere with the open fire on, I wasn't able to manage a pudding but from looking at others they looked lovely too. Highly recommend 😀

28/10/2024: The family and I went in here for some food while in Bundoran for the weekend. I ordered the fresh cod, lasagne for the wife pizza and nuggets kids meals. I really wanted a breakfast, but because it was lunchtime and there was no breakfast option on the menu, I assumed I couldn't order a breakfast. After I ordered and started eating my fish, someone behind me ordered the All Day Breakfast. I was disappointed, but that was not this establishments fault. The chips weren't great. They were very greasy and the usual frozen chip variety. The lasagne was very dry. I think it was made the day before and reheated when we ordered it. Maybe it was cooked and placed under heat lamps all day. It was that dry. The fresh cod was a grand size and had the perfect amount of batter crunch on it. The portions of food were pretty decent, though. I can't fault that.

22/09/2024: Love this place. Perfect for a post-surf feed. Incredibly friendly staff, great service and tasty, wholesome food. Great with young kids too. Highly recommend.

03/08/2024: 10 stars for the brisket!!! Wow! The most tender meat I've eaten in my life! Really, and I'm not young 🙃 Pulled pork on a donut 🍩 is also good. Great 🍟 fries. Recommended. Come. Eat. Now. You won't regret it!

08/09/2024: Four of us visited on a Saturday evening. Three of our party had Cajun chicken and it was faultless. I had sirloin steak and it was cooked to perfection. The welcome was first class with a warm greeting and big smiles. The staff seemed really pleased to see us and that set the scene for a lovely evening. The place was modern and spotlessly clean. Special thanks to our servers Nadine, Leah and Bronagh (names in order of appearance!!). Their welcome, service and attention to detail throughout our visit was exemplary. We are so grateful to them for such a memorable experience.

17/10/2024: One of the best dining experiences I have ever had. The food is consistently excellent with amazing flavours that complement each other perfectly. Rana, Shez and the rest of the team put in every effort to make sure you have a fantastic meal. Top of my list for a high quality experience!

14/07/2024: Rockhill house estate is a stunning place to stay! With a half mile private tree lined drive and electric gates which open up to a grand courtyard in front of the impressive building. Great rooms and service, wouldn't hesitate to stay again!

15/11/2024: I have to say that at the price point this deserves its five stars. Bed was extremely comfortable, room clean and spacious, shower pressure brilliant and bathroom spotless, breakfast decent with coffee quickly brought to table!
