The best restaurants in Donegal

26/06/2025: Myself and my family went to Chandpur for the first time a few weeks back, we got a big array of different foods, including samosas, madras, jalfrezi, etc.., and every single dish was delicious, you could taste the flavors and spices, everything was cooked brilliantly. I have to admit that this restaurant is one of the best for authentic Indian dishes, offering a proper Indian dining experience with its music and decor. We will be coming back, 10/10

13/06/2025: Rooms were lovely and clean. Food was fab. Great value for money. Only downfall was service was slow. Breakfast lunch and dinner, staff were just slower. They weren't understaffed or anything like that. They were super friendly and very helpful, their pace of service was just slow. It was noticeable to us, maybe it was the pace of the establishment and not a negative but just something we found mentionable.

30/06/2025: Huge Price Increases and Half the Quality of Service in Both Food and Service – Backstage Restaurant Letterkenny Backstage Restaurant Letterkenny started out as a fantastic spot — fresh, well-prepared food, friendly service, and great value. In the beginning, meals were consistently delicious and well presented, and it was a place I genuinely looked forward to visiting. Unfortunately, that standard seems to have slipped drastically. On my most recent visit, the burger was poorly cooked — dry, overdone, and carelessly assembled. It looked like it had been reheated rather than made fresh. The chips were far too thick, bland, and completely unseasoned — heavy and tasteless. The onion rings were the worst part: stuck together, greasy, overcooked to the point of being burnt, and totally lacking flavour. While the starters still had good flavour, the presentation was messy and rushed — far from the high standard they once upheld. To make matters worse, we waited 18 minutes for a child’s ice cream — a basic request that should never take that long. No communication, no apology. With prices going up and quality going down, Backstage Restaurant Letterkenny no longer delivers the standard it once did. If they don’t return to prioritising freshness, consistency, and proper service, I fear the business won’t survive much longer. It’s a shame to see such a promising restaurant lose its edge.

22/06/2025: Had brunch here today food was fantastic service was very quick and very helpful was served by a waitress by the name of sarah and she was so polite friendly and great caric she made sure our experience was top class and kept comming around to check was everything OK not too much just the right amount will definitely be comming back again next year for food hopefully sarah will be working here still 👍

02/04/2025: I was in Bundoran for a few days playing music and stumbled across this café on the first day. The food was excellent and the service 2nd to none. I didn't have lunch anywhere else the entire time I was in the town 😂. Was looked after very well, and can't wait to come back.

04/05/2025: Definitely the worse place I ever ate. We got a take away. The smell of the food on the way back in the car was enough to make us sick. When we got home and plated it up, it only got worse. Over 40 we spent on 2 of us and it was rotten. The combo starter all came in the one box. The same kind of box you get a chicken snack box from a chipper in. Very unprofessional. Food we literally inedible. Worse I ever seen.

30/06/2025: We discovered this place while on a road trip. They serve one of the best breakfasts we've had in all of Ireland. The service was also excellent.

18/06/2025: One of the best eating establishments in Letterkenny, highly recommended for anyone who appreciates good food.

07/06/2025: Usually best cafe around with good staff and service.Food also excellent. However 2 younger staff members today leave much to be desired .Was totally ignored for 30 minutes or more.Cafe not very busy.Male staff member more interested in talking to others about sale of cafe and served others who arrived after me whom he probilily knew Poor staff members both .Did not order Moved to another cafe.

19/01/2025: Never been disappointed with the food. Staff are always friendly and helpful. Reasonably priced for a fast food establishment. Good variety on the menu.

01/06/2025: Called in for dinner one evening and opted for the early bird which consists of two courses for €26. When I went to the cash desk which was manned by the owner I asked for my bill and unfortunately I trusted him and did not check the amount. I said to add €2 for a tip. He took my debit card and put it into the card machine which asked if I wanted to give 10% tip and as there was no other option I pressed yes. The final cost was €33. I was charged individually for the two courses I received. The floor staff were friendly and pleasant but the same could not be said about the owner.

29/05/2025: Beautiful food would recommend this restaurant to all who visit Letterkenny. The restaurant has tables upstairs,but these tables were closed off the evening we visited.

26/04/2025: On purchasing a family meal deal which included pizza, garlic bread, chips and Popcorn chicken and a bottle of drink, on collection I was presented with a 500ml bottle, I'm not sure how a family can share out 500ml between them total cost €27 I then had to buy 3 cans costing €6 extra , total cost €33 Inc recycling fee, note the bottle and cans did not contain the return symbol to get the deposits back. Food was ok but feel I was ripped off by a sneaky move!

23/04/2025: Fantastic food and great service, you may have a longer wait at times but the food is worth it their "Full House" pizza 🍕 is fantastic

05/06/2025: Great experience in the Directors Lounge in Eclipse cinema Bundoran; Great sound and screen quality , also super clean everywhere , especially bathrooms .

17/04/2025: Just got done with watching the Minecraft movie with my twin sister, cousins, younger siblings and their friend. All was well until my cousin and younger brother and their friend had noticed they lost a fiver, they panicked and went to the boy’s toilets, found the fiver, made their way back up the stairs when a blonde woman with heavy makeup proceeded to follow these 3 young boys who are all 10 and under. She then started to shout in their faces which frightened them, I ran down to see what was going on, she told me they were messing which if they were, it still gave her no right to approach them, she was pointing in their faces and screamed so loud into one of the boys ears that his ears started to ring. I work in hospitality and I would get fired if I ever approached a child the way she did, yes they most definitely were misbehaving a little bit but there was two adults present and she should have came to either myself or my sister. The children started to cry their eyes out the second they got into the car, not to mention one of the boys is special needs so it traumatised him. The children and myself are also very embarrassed as this happened directly infront of the screen infront of whomever was watching the movie. Been going to this cinema for years and I have never had an experience like this.
