The best restaurants in Donegal

21/12/2025: We waited almost an hour for one cup of tea! We only went in for a short cup of coffee and ordered a couple of food items since they had nothing that would normally accompany a coffee (a bit strange for a place that has cafe in the description). Food came before the drinks and the drinks were lukewarm at best when they did arrive. The coffee was horrid. We ordered spring rolls for €10 and there were only 3 on the plate :/ That's over €3 per roll. The service was even worse as we had to ask about the tea several times and were informed they'd forgotten it each time. An hour later once the food and our coffees were empty and we'd already payed, the tea came boiling hot and so weak we decided not to drink it after all. Only thing that we actually enjoyed was the ceasar salad. Overall it was a huge disappointment and wouldn't recommend it to anyone.

21/12/2025: Visited with a group for a quick coffee and light bite before a Christmas concert. As this was around 2pm, we expected traybakes or similar, especially as the venue describes itself as a café, but none were available, leaving us forced to order full food items. We ordered four coffees, one tea, spring rolls and a Caesar salad. Despite ordering drinks first, the food arrived after around 30 minutes and the drinks came much later. The salad was nice but very expensive. The spring rolls were extremely poor value - €10 for just three rolls. The tea was forgotten three times and only arrived five minutes before we had to leave, despite us being charged in full beforehand. It was very weak and not enjoyable. It may have been a bit busy but for tea thats unacceptable. The coffee was also poor, and the milk tasted off. Slow service, poor value for money, and disappointing quality overall. I would not recommend going into this restaurant unless you are prepared to spend more than the value of the food and get forgotten.

11/10/2025: The chips with cheese and cheesy garlic bread were delicious. Lots of different beers and super-fast service.

06/09/2025: Orderd 2 pints absolutley shocking ..guiness bad ..tuborg rotten ..staff not friendly wat so ever ..left d beers after a mouthful and walked out

16/08/2025: A lovely little Indian restaurant right in the town. The staff were really nice and welcoming, and the food was absolutely delicious with generous portions at a very reasonable price. It’s takeaway only, but definitely worth it if you’re looking for tasty Indian food in the area.

03/05/2025: The food I ordered was inedible. I ordered a chip box with chicken. The lettuce was old and wilted, slathered in mayonnaise, the chicken was overcooked and bland and the chips were covered in sweet chilli sauce. I noticed a lot of grey and blighty chips amoungest them. They used to do a great kebab and hogie but have gone very downhill in the last year. My aunt ordered a curry which was a lot better than my order so maybe avoid anything that is not curry based!

14/06/2025: Had the club and ham cheese sour dough and soup today. The food was ok just, the price point for the quality was shocking and we don’t mind paying for good food. The soup was lumpy and baby food like in its consistency plus there was a film of water indicating it may have been frozen and defrosted - v poor! The sandwiches were bland, lacking in ingredients and soggy. The overall experience was way below average! We would have expressed this had we been asked when paying but we were not… will not return for sub par food at Dublin prices -

23/08/2025: When im in bundoran im only happy walking in the door to the celtic marine bar love the atmosphere and the music when im lucky to catch a night with the acts love collette and aaron 2 of the nicest people iv met over the last 6 years of coming to bundoran im from newbridge co kildare and bundoran is my home from home and the celtic marine bar is my local even tho i dont know the other staffs names they r equally as lovely and the atmosphere is excellent reminds me of my local back home in fact bundoran is nothing if i havent popped in for a visit 😘❤️

17/08/2025: I wouldn't feel safe in this pub. Last time family members of mine have seen such signs like the one in the entrance to this pub my great-grandfather ended up in Dachau, and died there. This place is not safe.

01/03/2026: The food is very average and the prices aren't overly cheap for what it is. The staff are very nice though and I have personally ordered something not on the menu and the staff were happy to accommodate me and what I was asking for which was great. Overall it's decent for a bit of grub on the way home from the pub when the taste buds aren't as fussy, but if you're looking for a sober tasty takeaway I would look elsewhere

24/11/2025: They put there tika kebab chicken in there curry to save money instead of breast of chicken like they use too ,,, and it is now horrible so they lost a good customer

30/11/2025: July 2025 Beautiful location right on the lake shore. Apart from that an average campsite with ok facilities, a normal price and no kitchen.

13/11/2025: We used this venue to host an Aromatherapy Workshop. They were very accommodating and helpful. Great facilities

06/08/2025: Tue 5th Aug @7.40 front of house excellent, super friendly, cleaned up a table for us to dine. Great looking menu, well overpriced. Ordered Veggie ginger & chilli noodle stirfry , a swap of soya sauce,1 whole onion, sesame seeds.€17 Hubby orderd lasagne, €23 came out looked like a orange cheese slice just melted on top of it, so sml and thin not much of a lasnage, side salad was just pulled out of a salad bag. No dressing, nothing. Honestly an absolute disgrace to plate up this, and it it's worthy for diners to pay €35. I'm in the hospitality industry am disgraced of this pathic food I was subject to eat. Again front of house staff excellent , back staff unacceptable

26/07/2025: I appreciated the variety of vegan options available at this restaurant, which was a big plus. However, I had a very disappointing experience. The staff was quite unfriendly, which affected the overall atmosphere. We didn`t feel welcome at all! Additionally, the noodle dishes were swimming in oil, making them very greasy and not very enjoyable.

22/02/2026: Very bad. Fat, oily, bad taste.

27/10/2025: We had a beef curry with fried rice and a spice bag. The beef was tender and the curry sauce had a good kick as we had asked for it to be spicy. The rice was average but nothing to complain about. The spice bag was tasty. Salty chips and tender chicken. Service was quick. If I’m ever back this way I’ll be back again

31/08/2025: Arrived up on Friday night to enjoy some drinks and craic. Band came on and soon found out it was a Republican RA band. Not our experience of anywhere else in Donegal and sadly this pub has definitely gone down hill since it changed hands.

27/08/2025: Angela's fish and chips next door serve the best fish and it is so fresh - the chips are great too.

29/12/2025: Chicken filled burger was not Chicken breast meat and was raw and wet in middle. Had to throw it away. I not be back. The food quality is terrible.
