21/06/2025: As always the food was excellent. Since lockdown it is now takeaway only. Very busy so you need to order at least 30 minutes before you want it.
21/03/2025: Front of house is friendly. Food is over priced & honestly terrible. First time ordering food here & the last. Spice bag was just destroyed with pepper & salt, no actual spice bag flavouring added, couldn't eat it. Fried noodles where not what you normally get. And the mixed spring roll contains celery & some horrible pink meat that I can't identify. Just terrible.

No probé chino pero el menú europeo es horrible.

15/03/2025: Overall 3/5 ... ordered a "cornish" with chips, pasty not fluffy at all, filling good, 3/5, chips like cardboard and no condiments unless you pay for them and that for a price tag of 15 quid 2/5, didn't ask for salad, won't eat it, won't rate it n/a, service quick but remade food 4/5, coffee tough excellent 4.5 / 5, will I come back, likely not unless as today I'm awfully hungry

05/09/2024: This was the first time I have visited the Greencastle Inn and I have to say the surroundings and the food was first class. Nothing was any problem for the chef ! The service staff were very pleasant and friendly. I would recommend it to anyone visiting

03/07/2025: We don’t usually write reviews, but felt compelled to share our experience.
We visited The Phoenix today and chose to sit outside to enjoy the beautiful weather. I went in to get our drinks, but to our surprise and discomfort, we heard shouting coming from inside the pub.
There were only a few customers inside, yet the barman was loudly and aggressively arguing with one of them. It was highly unprofessional and completely disrupted what should have been a relaxed visit.
Sadly, based on this experience, we won’t be returning.
07/06/2025: Me and my friend have gone two nights In a row both times the drinks just taste bad though it could have just be a once of but second night the Guinness was just bad.

08/06/2025: Had a takeaway from here. The staff was very helpful and even gave discount. They accommodate different dietary requirements as well if someone requires too.
Nice snd helpful staff with some good food taste. Recommended !
17/05/2025: The food was tasty ~ chicken jalfrezi ~ but not very ‘spicy hot’. I suspect that the chicken was a precooked breast put into a jalfrezi sauce. It works, but not what one expects. I may be wrong….. but???!
The service was quick & efficient, and very polite!
Perhaps a little more effort on the food & I could be tempted to reassess the star review.
Would I eat from here again. I would. Technically, there was nothing wrong with it, it just could have been better.
