The best restaurants in Donegal

23/04/2025: Nice decor, passable food, subpar service. Doesn't add up to justify the hefty price tag. Thinks it’s more than it is. Disappointing experience overall.

04/04/2025: Passing through Killybegs one evening, we called in to Tara Hotel restaurant for an evening meal. The staff were excellent , the premises were recently revamped to a high standard. The food was excellent with large portions and we would certainly recommend this venue.

20/08/2025: This franchise does not exist any more and reviews are for old franchise called chickings but this franchise is permanently close round 7 months ago now its new business opened here called LK FRIED CHICKEN.

11/04/2025: I regrettably spent 30 minutes (waiting)on an unproductive endeavor. The chicken was excessively cooked and excessively greasy; the oil appeared to be rancid, possibly even outdated. Regarding the family meal—the specific selection escapes me—the team reported a missing side of fries. I would not recommend dining at this establishment, particularly given the presence of uncleared tables. The online comments indicate that the establishment is Halal-certified, a fact that was previously unknown to me; consequently, I will not be returning.

09/08/2026: Quite expensive for lunch with tiny portions, I got quiche and two salads, all very dry and not very impressive. Bland to taste, also not very warm and server was rude in manner. Otherwise nice location and atmosphere.

07/05/2026: The food was delicious. The fish and chips were freshly prepared and very tasty. Everything seemed clean and well-organized. The portions were very large.

16/07/2026: Great feed and fast and friendly service and wasn't expensive.. proper real chips to.

28/05/2025: We travel a distance to eat here and it never disappoints. Lovely friendly staff, amazing food. Highly recommend the butter chicken or Chicken pomegranate. Mouth watering, good portions and excellent value for money.

27/05/2025: The first time here and we were not disappointed. Excellent food and service...and the owner Mohammed remembered us from 20 odd yrs ago in Belfast...lovely ambient restaurant with lovely staff...highly recommend....

29/07/2026: Used to be good worst Chinese I've ever had ordered the salt and chili squid was not even edible. Not even sure if it was squid. Looked and smelled like chicken..rock hard and very overcooked. Not a hint of chili. 3 in 1 wasn't nice either. Never ordering here again

16/12/2025: Fantastic location with an easy walk into the town. Plenty of parking. The spacious twin room had an ensuite. Shared kitchen, that was very clean. Would definitely book again.
