29/07/2026: Lovely staff, all very polite! However, I also work in hospitality, and it's clear that they're understaffed. There was a huge queue, and you could see they were rushing to keep up. It's a bit disappointing, especially considering it's a café that's busy with people who work nearby and pass by every day (myself included). Every morning I notice the same situation.

05/07/2026: ⭐☆☆☆☆ Completely unacceptable for a €500-per-night “4-star” hotel— I rarely leave negative reviews, but our experience at The Spencer Hotel was genuinely shocking. We paid approximately €500 per night, expecting the level of service associated with a reputable 4-star hotel. Instead, we returned to find a room that had effectively not been serviced at all. The breakfast trays and dirty dishes from the morning were still sitting in the room, rubbish remained on the desk and tables, the bed hadn’t been made properly, the pillows and bed linen had not been changed, and the room had clearly not been vacuumed. What made the situation even worse was the The receptionist asked what exactly needed to be done, as though this wasn’t standard housekeeping. Shortly afterwards, reception approached my daughter-in-law and again asked what we expected them to do. That question alone speaks volumes. At €500 a night, guests should not have to explain that a room should be cleaned, beds made, used dishes removed, bins emptied and the room vacuumed. These are not “special requests.” They are the absolute basics of hotel housekeeping. The lack of accountability and the dismissive attitude were more disappointing than the poor cleaning itself. Instead of apologising and immediately correcting the issue, we were made to feel as though we had to justify expecting the service we had already paid for. An hour later, I had to move myself all the dirty plates outside, nothing done from their end as our complain did not count. The attached photos speak for themselves. Charging premium prices creates premium expectations. Unfortunately, The Spencer Hotel failed to deliver even the basic standards expected from a much cheaper hotel. I sincerely hope management reviews both their housekeeping standards and, more importantly, how staff handle customer complaints. At this price point, this experience was simply unacceptable.

07/06/2026: Fantastic hotel, which made a trip to Dublin extremely enjoyable. Staff, food, rooms and drink are all great. Airport Bus stop right outside the hotel makes it even more convenient. Really recommend and would stay here again.

23/07/2026: Vegan wrap is gross, wish there were better options for veggies as I hear the other sandwiches are gorgeous. Lovely staff and coffee though.

19/06/2026: I stay here regularly for work and love it being by the sea. It's worth paying the extra usually only € 20-30 for sea view. Service very good and close to town centre and sea front.

18/06/2026: It was a night to remember! Having to celebrate our silver anniversary in TUH and Ireland in an iconic place is really amazing! The staffs are so accomodating and friendly. The rooms were so nice. Will be back to treat my family friends here!

08/09/2026: These gents know what they're doing. I ordered the lamb kebeb and it was beyond perfect. All ingredients absolutely fresh, great hot and white sauces as well as nice soft flatbtead and the lamb beautifully cooked. Ten stars to these fellas.

22/08/2026: We went with a friend during a tattoo session, so we needed to be quick. They were super nice! wondering taste, we got lamb wrap, I recommend it 100%. I went there a couple of years ago, today after years my friend suggested this place and I didn’t doubt it!

16/03/2026: Nice food, reasonable prices. Friendly staff. I asked for spicy and it sort of just tasted like it usually did, but how and ever, still tasted good. 😂 *edit* Chicken balls seem to have halved in size. Price stayed the same though! Thought I got a 4 portion rather than 8 by mistake because of the bag size, opened it up and they're just.... Small. 😬 More like chicken nuggets than chicken balls tbh. 😂

30/09/2026: Food was not great at all compared to other restaurants around. It was very busy inside. The staff were friendly and helpful when ordering food, but overall I think this place is overrated and not worth the price.

25/09/2026: Wide range of dishes. Reasonable prices. My meal was slightly slow arriving but generous portion size, tasty and nicely presented. Staff worked hard and were helpful. Background music slightly too loud for me.

31/08/2026: Have had a takeaway from this place a few times and it never disappoints! Had another great one tonight, generous spice bags and the food always arrives hot!

26/08/2026: What a wonderful pub didn't have food but had a drink the bar staff where friendly and helpful really chilled out visits we have had a lovely couple of evening not to busy lovely looking inside old and full of history will recommend to every one
