12/09/2025: Amazing experience at Handsome Burger last weekend. Visited with my 15 yr old niece who really wanted to go there for her birthday, my husband & two kids. It was raining out, we were relieved to get in out of the rain and find there was a table on a busy Sat night. But the music was quite loud - nice for me, very buzzy - but way too much for my autistic 6yr old son. He was upset and wanted to leave. I explained the situation to our lovely, kind & empathetic server, Matthew, who immediately said no problem and went to turn the music down. My son was delighted and we all were too. We stayed and had the most wonderful food, Matthew continued to mind our table, seeing if there was anything we needed, and gave the kids a free ice cream treat at the end. Amazing experience, thank you. And please give Matthew a pay rise - he’s one in a million. We’ll be back.

11/09/2025: Fast service, good food and fair prices made me happy

27/08/2025: Wow, Wow, WOW - and perhaps, WOW again! Didn't have a reservation, we stopped in for a bite late afternoon and sat at the bar for something to eat. Think tapas, think large portions of tapas and think Irish influence. Food was just delicious. We had foccacia and miso butter with olives to start, followed by crispty artichoke with chedder custard, ham hock and onions - my stand-out favourite dish of the day, short rib, fried chicken and a thai style pork skewer dishes. Next time we'll just do half of that as there was so much food. Wines available by the glass as well as by the bottle, cocktails and a few beers on draft. Really chilled out vibe with great food - will definitely be back.

19/08/2025: Brilliant from start to finish. Staff really nice. Food was so so good. Lovely atmosphere. Great value. Lovely balance of fine dining and casual atmosphere.

05/09/2025: Really was hoping for more based on the other reviews. Food was just okay and honestly not the best. Probably our least favorite of our visit in Galway. Bit of an odd experience and wouldn’t visit again

22/08/2025: Absolutely loved our dinner at Kirwan’s. Just off the busy main road, this gem of a restaurant offers some wonderful seafood dishes. We had oysters, hake and seabass. What really stood out for us though is the service! All waiters and waitresses were incredibly attentive and kind. Though we didn’t book they made an effort to find space for us. I’d hightly recommend this restaurant.

21/08/2025: The service was great, beer, wine- awesome. But chowder with some strange stuff inside, like the thickener(can be wrong), and the risotto its just like an oatmeal, not the original italian risotto. But tasty. So overall 3 from 5.

07/08/2025: Lovely place close to the Latin quarter. The best vegan burger I have had in a long time. Very welcoming service and great food overall. If I'd live in Galway this would be my go to place!

05/09/2025: This is the best breakfast experience in Galway!!!!! The French toast dishes are unbelievable and rival that of any American establishment!!!! Eggs and sausage to compliment create a spectacular flurry of flavors and textures!!! The service is exceptional and very fast!!!! Truly an amazing breakfast experience and the only way to start your day!!!!!

31/08/2025: Had Breakfast here and my goodness, what a stunning Breakfast it was. My choice was the pancakes with blueberries and cream. Small error, I should have asked what size they were as I also ordered sourdough toast. The pancakes were huge, absolutely delicious. It was a struggle but having been brought up not to leave food I did manage to eat it all. Thank you for a fabulous Breakfast in great surroundings with very friendly staff.

09/09/2025: Authentic pub with fantastic food! Service was rather mediocre.

09/09/2025: The Skeff is part of the The Skeffington Arms Hotel. Food was very good. The Seafood Chowder and a couple of (non!) Stout beers from other parts of Ireland were a welcomed change of pace. IPA's, actually. One from Letterkenny, and the other from Kill, County Kildare. Other than the service being just a tad slow, it was (overall) very good. And the live music was magical this night. Okay...Not exactly magical, but covers from bands/artists that everyone knows, sung by a group of a youngish band of 3 called The Groev. They did a great job, actually.

08/09/2025: Great spot in Galway city centre. We were on a pub crawl trying Guinness in all the famous bars in Galway city. This was easily one of the best. I love the Irish language being spoken too. My wife had a coffee and enjoyed it a lot.

19/08/2025: Good dinner in a tiny restaurant where everything is prepared with Irish ingredients. Tasting menu to travel through the tastes of West Ireland with Irish drink pairing. Crab, fish, duck, tomatoes, mash potatoes with mushrooms, see weeds, cheese with a fig, forest strawberry dessert, ice apple wine and so much more. However, the service is too intrusive and feels too commercial so we liked the food but not really the overall atmosphere. I don’t think I would go again

24/08/2025: Come here and eat. Good beers. Sweet waiters. Pub food...but incredibly well done. Want chicken presented with an edible flower? Go elsewhere. Want to eat real local products? How do the Irish eat them? Come here. PS. The vegetarian selection is also very respectable. P.S. The fries, however, could be improved by using hand-cut ones, but that's the only flaw I don't feel like lowering the review for.

24/08/2025: Very nice pub in Galway, we were lucky enough to wait just 5 minutes before sitting at the table. Food was good and beer too..

11/09/2025: We went to Hooked after having read, that it’s supposed to be the best place for fish&chips in Galway. Sadly that was not our experience. We got a table instantly without reservation which was nice. After ordering drinks it took about 10 minutes for them to let us know, that the ordered IPA was out of stock. The seafood chowder was an absolute disappointment - completely plain and watery. After more than a 45 minutes wait (this being said that even people coming way later than us got their order before us) we finally got the fish&chips. The fish was plain, the chips as well and did not taste like cooked twice. After paying and not tipping we didn’t even get a goodbye. We did regret choosing Hooked afterwards since we’ve only had a one night stay in Galway. Not worth paying 60€ for dinner.

07/02/2025: Pedí el "Pastel de los Pastores" y estaba extremadamente decepcionado. Demasiado ajo en polvo y dudoso "puré de patatas". Muy seco a pesar de añadir una jarra de "jus". Me fui 1/2. Si un restaurante tiene una cocina abierta, entonces los chefs al menos deben actuar profesionalmente. Fui testigo de tantas infracciones HACCP que fue aterrador. Picando comida y comiendo sin lavarse las manos. Rascarse el cabello sin lavarse las manos.

07/09/2025: Amazing steaks ! Good wine selection. All food was very tasteful and the atmosphere is cozy.
