Galway
06/07/2026: Disappointing, fry was less expensive than a small breakfast burger and had to pay extra for an egg. Seating uncomfortably close to next table. Coffee was late. Staff very pleasant however.
06/07/2026: I found this place while deciding where to have brunch during my day trip to Galway. To start with the conclusion, the staff were very friendly and nice, but I should have ordered the Eggs Benedict or pancakes instead. I was debating between the Mushroom and this one, but since it came with a poached egg, I ordered this one. It was really tasty, but the egg was really, really bad. The yolk was a runny yolk that was almost fully cooked, and the egg white had a chewy texture due to the egg white skin, which wasn't good at all. The fries were just okay. The cutting was also poor, and they were fluffy, so if you're planning to order the mushroom toast, I think ordering a drink is a must! I saw some Korean reviews and decided to visit. I really loved the service—it was warm and thoughtful. But the food was a bit disappointing… Did I expect too much? 🥹 The poached egg wasn’t really poached—the yolk was almost fully cooked. That said, the mushrooms were nutty and had a really nice texture. I actually enjoyed that part.ᐟ.ᐟ They(on review) had eggs Benedict with bacon, I think! If you want to try something, go for it—or get the pancakes 🥞

Greens & Co

Galway
09/07/2026: Absolutely love Greens & Co! The food is always fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. There are plenty of healthy and delicious options to choose from, and everything tastes like it’s made with care. The coffee and specialty drinks are amazing too. The staff are friendly, welcoming, and provide great service every time. The atmosphere is cozy, clean, and perfect for catching up with friends or enjoying a relaxing meal. Highly recommend to anyone looking for great food and a wonderful experience!
09/07/2026: I came here for a nice vegetarian meal, where I could relax and sit after my long outing at the cliffs of Moher. When I walked in, I was planning to just order at the counter and take my meal somewhere else, but the lady practically forced me to a table. I had studied the menu online and tried to tell her that I was ready to order without seeing a menu, but she told me to consider. I looked at the menu for 30 seconds before calling her over and ordering. I asked for the Wi-Fi and she turned around and looked at her coworker, rolled her eyes and then pointed at a sign in the back of the restaurant. food did come out, surprisingly quick and tasted fine. I ordered the curry, which came with fried tofu, and I was expecting it to be seasoned like regular Asian tofu, but it was spiced like barbecue ribs. maybe that was on me, I probably could've asked more questions. Anyway, besides the rude lady who served me her coworker was actually quite kind and came over to bring me more napkins when she saw I spilled. atmosphere was great though, nice little restaurant with good vibes.

56 Central

Galway
03/07/2026: Nice full irish breakfast. Seating filled up very quickly. Popular with the locals. No access for wheelchairs.
02/07/2026: I actually gasped when I saw the prices. You'd get much larger portions for better value in many other places near by. I feel sorry for tourists who wouldn't know any better. We were still there for 15 mins after being seated with no sign of anyone coming to take our order. We ended up handing menus back and leaving.

Monroe's

Galway
05/04/2026: Great vibe, great atmosphere, gets a bit crowded but most places do, very nice people.
04/04/2026: My friend and I stopped at Monroe's for lunch. We were blessed with the appearance of Remi, a friendly giant, who patrols the pub & check on guests (and their plates sometimes haha). The pub itself has a good atmosphere and very interesting signed posters on the ceiling! It was busy, but not chaotic busy. The staff was super friendly. We both ordered beef burgers, which were really really tasty, and of course, a pint of Guinness. We have also noticed the place hosts many gigs and other events, which is awesome!

18/06/2026: The place is central location near docs and good atmosphere. It offers delicious food with some asian vibe and excusite desserts
17/06/2026: Walked in for an early dinner at 5 pm and sat downstairs in the bar for their small plates menu. Food was exquisite, the oysters, ceviche, fried chicken, and seaweed butter were our favorites. Excellent experience, recommend reservations if you’d like to sit upstairs for their course menu.

The Seafood Bar @ Kirwan's

Galway
22/05/2026: Excellent!!!!!! We had five separate dishes, three starters and drinks. Everything was spectacular and prepared to perfection. Wonderful! Thank you!
14/05/2026: As a welcome, we received warm service and genuine smiles, accompanied by a carafe of water with an orange slice, Guinness and whole-wheat bread with seeds, and salted butter. Then, our lunch began with a sweet Chardonnay to pair with a seafood platter, bursts of flavor that lingered on the palate. A small, crisp salad, perfectly balanced in flavor, capers with tender smoked salmon that delighted my taste buds, and truly delicious dried mackerel, all finished with a squeeze of lemon—I highly recommend it! Special mention for the Roche oyster; it's a shame there was only one. I was less impressed with the shrimp, which were blander than everything else. To finish, I savored a perfectly crisp crème brûlée (the inside was a little "cold," but I'm nitpicking) and a very good cappuccino. My stay got off to a wonderful start.

Hooked

Galway
12/07/2026: Horrible Service experience ever! We came in with three kids 2-11 years old. She told us she's having one table left for 1,5 hours which we agreed on. I directly mentioned the wish to order already the kids dish with our soup as a starter and asked if the fish which is served is fresh wild caught quality? She didn't know? We asked if she can ask the kitchen team...while she was "trying" figuring out (which kinda ruined her mood!)...we ended up with the decision to have no starters instead getting all plates together just to speed things up, we repeated that wish and got it confirmed from her side. She couldn't figure out our question but told us they have only farmed fish, which was confusing because the online description says quite the opposite, so we told her we choosed the local because of the online description which tells people that they are offering fresh wild caught fish she was over acting (we have been very friendly and that was just a normal question not more or less...I don't expect that she or the team has the knowledge about everything because she could be new, the chef wasn't doing the fish order by himself or he was just not in the house whatever!) "she's only the waitress that's what's the kitchen told her" because of her "aggression sound" I apologized and tried to explain her "I was just wondering and that was just a question?!" Her sound switched calmer again and she started explaining that actually no one knows if the fish is wild or not! Again that was all fine with us...because with three kids seated and waiting for food you're fine with everything what comes...but sadly nothing came for the kids. We got our soup after 25 min waiting (and the soup was excellent best seafood chowder ever) but we have been still waiting for the kids dish after 10 min (we've been ignored) we decided to share it with the kids, which loved the soup and wanted to have their own on top. Finally she was showing up again we asked her: "the kids dishes are coming right?" Waitress:"Yes" We: "we would order another one of those soups" Waitress: "Fine" After 15min the soup showed (no spoon for the kids, not once a question if everything is alright...ignored again, gave already the kids a used spoon) up but still not the plate which we order to share for the youngest a two year old which was already starting to cry because she was so hungry and frustrated. Asking again the waitress where the food is? She explained that the dishes taking their time in the kitchen and we have to understand that! No apology/sorry...nothing...crazy!!!! So after a bit more than one whole hour our little one got something to eat with an apology from another waitress (and finally some cutlery as well!)...the waitress which served the rest of our food was super lovely...and the food was supercalifragilisticexpialidocious! I prefer to share the good also I was working as a waitress for 20 years by myself and had a team under my fingers with a lot of newbie's ect (first rule if something wents wrong "SORRY"!). So the second waitress and the kitchen deserves full points and I hope the other waitress learns something because our restaurant experience in total was still sadly terrible... to see and hear our little one starving and crying ect, everyone from us was really upset in this restaurant situation and that's not what you want. Mistakes happen to all of us and that's all fine...at least you can say sorry, or offer a lil treat for the kid (whatever!). One last point if you're coming with kids and maybe you have to wait a bit longer...I was so glad that we packed some pencils and coloring books by ourselves because that's something we've been missing here as well. Stars only because I know we had bad luck and the food was so good also the other waitress was friendly to us!
12/07/2026: Very fresh fish and fair prices. Very friendly staff.

04/07/2026: I was visiting Galway a few years ago and went to renzo cafe. The place was great. So on my return last week I went back in. Still brilliant. Great coffee and beautiful food. Friendly, helpful staff. As they say, Ill be back. 😄😄
28/06/2026: Love this cafe. My friends and I went multiple times on a trip to Galway and it was great every time. The food is delicious (I highly recommend recommend the Caesar wrap and the chorizo melt) and the drinks are great. The atmosphere is really nice and the music they play was always really enjoyable. The service is fantastic and everyone is really friendly. Also, the art of the walls is brilliant and relatively affordable. Definitely recommend!

The Kings Head

Galway
26/05/2026: Upon arriving at the restaurant, we were told there would be a 30-minute wait, but we were seated within 10 minutes, which was great. We then requested a table closer to the band and were told we could sit at a nearby table for four. However, less than five minutes later, another couple was seated there instead. Naturally, it made me wonder if the color of my skin played a role. Sometimes it’s the small things that can make or break a restaurant experience. This was our first restaurant here, and I’m sure there are better places with friendlier service. Being handed vegetable stew in a to-go box to eat felt inconsiderate and unwelcoming. I’m from Texas — we simply don’t treat people like that. See pic below We had oysters, which were delicious of course being an American from Texas. We are so used to our crackers, and apparently they don’t know what that is. She had no idea what I was talking about. However, I should be grateful that they had Tabasco sauce.
26/05/2026: The drinks are great and great craic at night. However, my husband and I stopped here for dinner one night when looking for seafood and couldn’t get in to the upscale seafood place nearby. 45 minute wait for 2 people at 7:30pm on a Monday-would highly recommended the salted caramel espresso martini-amazing! We ordered the seafood platter and scallops. The oysters had pieces of shell in them and tasted of pure salt water-I love oysters but these were just not that great. The scallops were slightly overcooked as well. I would avoid this place for seafood and stick with drinks and possibly traditional food only.
