11/04/2026: I went there for my anniversary the food was amazing, our server Aishlinn was so polite and friendly. The atmosphere was absolutely amazing. I would 100% come back and told all my friends and family to check it out.

10/04/2026: Came for the burgers with a GF bun, and they exceeded our expectations! Very chill spot, great staff (thanks Matthew!), excellent vibes.

07/04/2026: Went for dinner and the food was decent, nothing outstanding. To start we got the prawns, croquettes and donuts all were good but a little underwhelming. The main dishes were all delicious. The sea bass and trout en croute were so good, lots of flavor and the vegetables cooked perfectly. Also had a bite of the feather blade and was shocked by how well cooked it was. So flavorful but melts in your mouth. We tried all the desserts across our whole party and the best were by far the Celeriac and the miso caramel. The others were not great but those two are worth it. Drink service was very slow, our starters coming out before the first round. But the overall service was very attentive and friendly. This place is definitely worth it if you order correctly! Also have heard their brunch is the real showstopper so keep that in mind.

30/12/2025: A very, very nice place. Great food. Great atmosphere with fairy lights and plants. The service was very friendly despite the large number of guests. It was really great. I think it would be better to have one more staff member during peak hours or when the city is busier.

14/03/2026: Went for lunch and was blown away by the experience. I had honey butter fried chicken and the chips and it was fantastic. We both had the chocolate mousse and blood orange sorbet for dessert and it was so well balanced. Service and location are great. It’s expensive compared to an average lunch spot but it’s so worth it, would absolutely go again soon!

12/03/2026: beyond flawless. The best bloody mary and bowl of chowder I have ever had! The dining room is stunning with a view over the bay. The only thing that rivals the food is the genuine warmth of the whole Front of House team. Can not wait to come back

04/04/2026: My friend and I stopped at Monroe's for lunch. We were blessed with the appearance of Remi, a friendly giant, who patrols the pub & check on guests (and their plates sometimes haha). The pub itself has a good atmosphere and very interesting signed posters on the ceiling! It was busy, but not chaotic busy. The staff was super friendly. We both ordered beef burgers, which were really really tasty, and of course, a pint of Guinness. We have also noticed the place hosts many gigs and other events, which is awesome!

20/02/2026: My wife and I had an absolutely exceptional experience. From the moment we arrived, everything was outstanding. The food was incredible—fresh, flavorful, and beautifully prepared. Every bite captured the true taste of the sea, and even the next day I could still remember and almost taste those amazing flavors. The drinks were just as impressive, perfectly crafted and a great complement to the meal. The service was equally remarkable—attentive, welcoming, and genuinely warm without ever feeling intrusive. It’s rare to find a place where the food, drinks, and service are all this consistently excellent. I honestly couldn’t recommend this restaurant highly enough. An unforgettable and unbelievable experience from start to finish.

01/04/2026: Delicious vegetarian dishes, a spectacular flat white, friendly people, and it would have been worth stopping here just for the excellent flapjack. Lovely, highly recommended, and a bit off the beaten track from Galway's tourist hotspots in the Latin Quarter!

05/03/2026: Had a lovely visit to Jemi Lighthouse Cafe, a fully vegan café located close to AIB. It’s a cute and an Instagram-friendly spot with a cozy vibe. I tried the Terryland Reuben sandwich and the Salthill Squash Salad, and both were tasty. The only downside was that the portion sizes felt a bit small for the price. The place was quite busy over the weekend, but we managed to get seats on the high chairs along the window aisle. Overall, it’s a good little spot for a quick vegan snack, and I would recommend stopping by if you’re in the area.

09/09/2025: Authentic pub with fantastic food! Service was rather mediocre.

09/09/2025: The Skeff is part of the The Skeffington Arms Hotel. Food was very good. The Seafood Chowder and a couple of (non!) Stout beers from other parts of Ireland were a welcomed change of pace. IPA's, actually. One from Letterkenny, and the other from Kill, County Kildare. Other than the service being just a tad slow, it was (overall) very good. And the live music was magical this night. Okay...Not exactly magical, but covers from bands/artists that everyone knows, sung by a group of a youngish band of 3 called The Groev. They did a great job, actually.

10/04/2026: Arrived in with a party of 8 from Galway Bay Brewery , the food and service were unbelievable. The fish is so fresh and tasty, also pricing is very reasonable as good fish isn’t cheap . Big thanks to Ester too who looked after us .

09/04/2026: Takeaway 1 cod, 1 hake, chowder, and prawns on 9th April 2026. The chowder was so incredibly salty that we had to throw it away. It was so aggressively seasoned that my tongue is still numb from the salt. Like being hit in the mouth with a tidal wave of Irish Sea water. Please chef, taste your own food before you serve it. 2/5 because the Hake was alright. Other items mediocre. Would not recommend this restaurant.

25/03/2026: I recently had a Full Irish breakfast at the Hyde Hotel in Galway, priced at €18.50, and found it to be fairly average for the cost. While the presentation initially seemed decent, it was disappointing to discover that the 5 or 6 rashers—hidden beneath the bread—were undercooked and really didn’t feel properly prepared. Overall, the experience didn’t quite justify the price. Service was good, albeit a slightly long waiting time.

24/03/2026: We went from pub to pub and nothing was really quenching my satisfaction. I enjoyed the Guinness but wanted more. I heard about this place so walked in without a reservation with hubby. Everyone was nice and we got a cute table right away. Ordered a flight of Irish gin and loved the experience! Bartender came and explained each in detail and then later made me an amazing drink no longer in the menu with rose petals and lemon sweet foam! It was Amazing! We ordered the spicy sausage pizza and mezze appetizer with hummus and nothing was left. We leave Galway tomorrow but everyone was so nice wish we could go back.

10/04/2026: The food was very good, I believe I got some type of seafood platter, very fresh tasting. but the girls at the front door were kind of rude and sassy kinda made me uncomfortable and not welcome. The waiter was much nicer though.

19/03/2026: Really lovely food, incredibly prepared variety of fish, and a cozy warm atmosphere. The service was top call, Noel was really fantastic, friendly and extremely knowledgeable on everything on the menu and behind the bar. Great experience overall!
