Caffe Letterario GattaNera
Bray
19/09/2025: A lovely spot for lunch and a coffee in Bray. The staff are incredibly friendly and helpful, the coffee is great and the sandwiches are out of this world. Highly recommend the Parma king or the n'duja.
15/09/2025: Apple cinnamon tea was perfect with extra cinnamon. I hope they add a ginger cookie to the menu , it would be the perfect combination for a cozy autumn evening! šš

Wicklow Inspired Cafe
Wicklow
02/10/2025: This is a great little gem in the south road to Wicklow harbour. The coffee is top notch and the service brilliant and friendly. What I like best is that the cafƩ is entirely Dog Friendly and provide free treats water and pupachinos. You can sit outside in the sunshine and admire the harbour as the tide rushes in and out. Highly recommend Inspired Well worth a visit.
26/09/2025: A unique cafƩ. Delicious coffee. Lovely ambiance. Cool decor. Right on the harbor, with three benches across the street, overlooking the bridge.

La Piazza
Bray
29/10/2025: Highly recommend!!!! š everything was so so soo good and tasted amazing. We had bruschetta, pizza and pasta arrabiata also tiramisuā¦just wow.. thank you Valbone and company!
23/10/2025: We were only in this area for 2 days an we ate here both nights. The food is absolutely amazing. The staff make you feel well taken care of. Again the food is absolutely delicious. We drove almost half of Ireland and this is by far our favorite place. I would come back here. Iād fly 9 hours back for the risotto. I do think they could redo the front of their building to accommodate at least another table or two. You can search parking lot an park near the church an walk here. Itās about 1 min walk. They have a kids menu but our kid chose to order a bowl of mussels and ate that for his dinner. Heās literally never done that an only ever had tried them once in France. He said they were delicious. Dessert is also mouth watering. I had the pavlova simply because I had never tried it an heard it on the TV show Bluey. Itās dangerously good.

Mount Usher Gardens
Ashford
06/09/2025: Having heard so much but never visited before I was a little disappointed after paying the ā¬10 fee in comparison to Kilmacurragh gardens which are free. The food in the AVOCA cafe is delicious and lots of lovely little shops in the square

Dockyard No. 8
Bray
09/10/2025: Dockyard is 10/10. Food always knocks it out of the park. Veg burger, cauliflower/blue cheese soup, great menu, top staff. Now a weekly stop off
24/09/2025: The food is fine, typical Irish: burgers, salads, soup, and little else. The place is nice, especially the terrace. The only thing is that the benches are sloping and you keep slipping. You can't really eat in peace because you have to be careful not to fall.
The water was a little warm and tasted strange; maybe they should look into that.
The service was very good, and the atmosphere on the terrace was very conducive to conversation, even though it was quite noisy.

Taste of Italy
Arklow
11/10/2025: The Taste of Italy was a delightful and delicious surprise. I had the pistachio croissant and my husband had the chocolate croissant. We kick ourselves for not taking some to-go and for not tasting the organic apple pie. Since we were headed out of town, we missed their lunch special, but I'm certain it's fabulous.
The hosts were warm and friendly.
Highly recommend!
04/10/2025: This Italian has just replaced my favourite Italian restaurant in London. Might not be local but worth travelling for.

The Old House
Arklow
18/09/2025: I was a stranded traveller from Canada dealing with a ridiculous rental car situation and the staff here went above and beyond to help me out with local contacts, good food and good beer. I visited The Old House twice, nothing but good experiences. Its a very classic pub with good food and great Guinness.
12/07/2025: Just popped in as i was passing through. Really nice staff. Food was good except for pepper sauce. Nice atmosphere

The Wicklow Heather
Laragh
01/11/2025: The food and service was exceptional! Avinash was our server and he went above and beyond for us absolutely amazing! Will be back again!
01/11/2025: We visited Wicklow Heather after exploring Glendalough in the autumn, and it was a truly special experience. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming ā the perfect place to relax after a walk in the valley.
We started with the **pulled beef croquettes**, which were excellent: homemade, crispy on the outside, and served with a delicious **fig jam** that balanced the flavors beautifully.
My wife had the **Irish lamb stew**, incredibly fresh and comforting, with that authentic countryside taste. I ordered the **venison with wine and chocolate sauce**, which was tender, rich, and full of flavor. It came with a fantastic mashed potato and perfectly roasted parsnips.
The wine list was also a pleasant surprise ā I highly recommend the **Nero dāAvola from Sicily**, which paired wonderfully with the dishes.
Service was great: friendly, attentive, and efficient without being intrusive.
All in all, this is an ideal spot to enjoy high-quality local food in a charming setting, especially if youāre visiting **Glendalough in autumn**, when the surroundings feel even more magical.
**Highly recommended!**
