The best restaurants in Donegal

06/06/2026: I ordered a 12 inch cheese pizza garlic cheese chip Smash burger A portion of onion rings The only thing out of the €35 I spent in this smelly over charged place that was decent wash the Smash burger Everything else wasn't great.The pizza had barely any cheese and it was more sauce than anything .Not melted or no cheese pull it was like warm and the house is 10 min drive away Garlic cheese chip barely any cheese agin not melted . Are you trying to save on the cheese. The entrance smells dirty but it looks clean .Music blaring while you wait a wee bit too loud .The man that was taking my order I could barley hear him because of the music and maybe because of his European accent .Personality of a stone ! I am not a tourist I am local i said I would try it as it was different to my usual place. Never going back .!!

24/06/2026: Its cool to look inside and look at the food options. But everything is expensive. Even simple sandwiches will run you over €12. In the food display cases the prices aren't listed. There are vegan options though

09/07/2026: It's absolutely not worth it. Considering that the catch of the day is frozen fish and chips, I thought I'd get something good and fresh given the proximity to the port... but it's nothing like that. The food is like any other pub and it costs more. What a shame.

02/06/2026: Great hotel rooms very modern location amazing. Service was good. Was in a package but found the residents menu was quite limited mainly fish,only one chicken dish and 1 meat dish which was steak which incurred a supplement . Though good we got was good.

10/05/2026: Stayed with a large group this weekend. The hotel and staff went out of their way to accommodate an early start for an event we were taking part in. Location is stunning. The food was outstanding.. special mention to Justin and Rihanna They were so lovely and enjoyed themselves along with the group in the evening ❤️👍 Home from home. look forward to a return visit soon

17/05/2026: Had a recent family dinner here and it was 10/10. Attention to detail, beautiful menu options - for a very good price. Whipped goats cheese on sourdough was delicious. Service was brilliant and the staff were lovely. Can’t wait to return!

15/02/2026: This was our 2nd time eating here and i can honestly say this place is fabulous! Food is so fresh and tasty, a real hidden gem in the Downings. Scampi & Fish Tacos are unreal. If you dont eat here you are missing out. Just fab!! Cant wait to return

24/05/2026: Beautiful place, room was large and breakfast was delicious. Small walk to the Reel Inn which has fantastic live music 7 nights a week. This was our best night out in Ireland!

06/07/2026: If you are visiting the cliffs of Sliabh Liag this is a must- stop. The restaurant is very command welcoming. The staff is great. The food is hearty and delicious, and there’s usually a fire in the hearth. We tried both a seafood stew and a beef stew. Both were great.

04/07/2026: Brilliant Tour around the prison. The tour guide himself was just fantastic at his job. Wish I had of taken cash to tip him because he was very good at what he does. We learned so much in an hour and it was very interesting. Our autistic son was with us and was nervous but straight away he took a liking to the tour guide which made the experience a breeze 🥰 he really enjoyed himself and wants to go back ! Thank you for a great time 🥰

29/06/2026: This place is fabulous 👌 dont be told visit with friends and family ❤️ and enjoy all the interesting meals they've got to offer then thank me later. They also have some amazing sightseeing too. So what are you waiting for....be there live.

27/04/2026: We had amazing stay here yesterday food was beautiful and staff was brilliant. We will definitely be back.

15/04/2026: We called in there for lunch. The menu is varied and the food was excellent and very good portions. It is in the town centre and has both indoor and outdoor seating.

27/06/2026: Always such lovely customer experience at Purple Velvet. The treats selection is always amazing and the service in particular is always friendly and quick!! The new PV Acai van is such a fun new addition for summer and the girls are so helpful and their attention to detail in making your order is just fab!

17/05/2026: An Absolutely lovely restaurant, fantastic servers, so welcoming and attentive. I had garlic mushrooms then fish and chips, my husband had turkey and ham and a dessert, all scrumptious 🤤 we highly recommend this little gem in Buncrana. Rosaleen and James

26/04/2026: Food was not great - the chips were basically raw and the meat was chewy. Really nice staff and nicely set up.

26/04/2026: We had a very pleasant experience. Although we arrived without a booking as a group of nine and requested to sit outside because we had our dog with us, the staff were extremely accommodating. They kindly arranged outdoor seating for us without any issue, which we really appreciated.

19/05/2026: Service in Supermacs slow. Staff all standing around talking. Only one or two actually doing something
