The best restaurants in Donegal

12/03/2024: We have been going to McGrory's for years. I had my wedding day at McGrory's 2 weeks ago, and to say I was blown away would be an understatement. We live in London so 90% of our guests travelled over for our wedding, and they were so impressed with the staff, the food and atmosphere. Carole was so helpful from day 1 and we really couldn't have asked for better. Thank you so much!

01/03/2024: Idyllic location with easy walking access to amazing beaches. Attended a family wedding at McGrory's, great venue for a celebration. The rooms were spacious, clean and very well maintained daily by friendly staff. We were made very welcome by all the staff and the food here is simply delicious. Dinner and breakfast were of the finest quality. Live music in a cosy bar is a regular evening event. Free easy access parking. Thank you.

31/03/2024: Lovely little hotel. The beds were comfy, the food was pretty good and the staff were friendly. Everything was reasonably priced and the location is ideal for Glenveagh National Park, Errigal and Muckish, and there are nice beaches nearby too. You could easily do day trips from here to many places along the coast. I stayed here for four nights for a work trip, and I would stay again if I was in the area for recreation.

02/01/2024: Had a wonderful stay at this beautiful place. Clean and well-designed apartments with literally everything you need. The Atlantic Ocean is only 5 minutes away and so are the surrounding mountains. Thanks for the good times and looking forward to be back soon. Tino & Katharina from @cozyandwild

31/03/2024: First the good: The location is great— 1 block walk into the quaint village, with some really good restaurants, a wonderful bakery and a few fun shops. Our room was clean and the bathroom had been nicely updated. Now the not-so-good: The young woman working reception was not at all friendly— not rude in anyway, just not welcoming. The bathroom shower didn’t have soap, shampoo or conditioner— we went to reception to ask and they said that they didn’t have any there either, so we bought some in town— but it’s standard for a hotel even of a lower class rating to supply these basic amenities. The whole vibe of the property was just ‘meh’— fine? For the price it wasn’t good value for money.

07/02/2024: Avoid this place. Rude bar manager because he is family. Argumentative and antagonistic all because I asked to have a blind lowered to block the harsh winter sun. Very rude! Actually the daughter works in the bar too. Also rude. An arrogant family! Go to BLAS near it. So much better!

19/12/2023: Lovely welcoming little cafe ran by a mother & daughter. I'm vegan & was treated to a lovely vegan wrap with chips. There was also avocado on toast available. In the heart of Bunbeg. You really do get a lovely warm Irish welcome when you come through the door. I highly recommend a visit.

05/02/2024: If I could give more stars, I would. We are on holiday touring through Ireland and have had some great meals but this is by far the best and the one I'll remember years from now. Everything we ate (grilled salmon, smoked salmon, soup) was Michelin-star quality.

09/03/2024: Stopped here last night after visiting the water fall .Great wee place . Staff where very friendly and food was amazing. We had fish and chips 😋 with tea bread and butter beat i have had in a long time .

05/03/2024: Fantastic place to eat whenever you are in Donegal. My favorite is the battered sausages with chips. I have been eating there for over 40 years (whenever I am over for vacations) and would recommend it for everyone, whether you need a late night snack to take away or want to dine in and have a proper meal. Jim's has it all in a friendly environment.
