The best restaurants in Donegal

12/10/2026: ig shout-out to the chef who popped out of the kitchen when he saw me making a bottle for my baba with cold iced water to cool it down. 👏❤️ He didn’t have to do anything, but he took the time to help out a fellow dad, and honestly, it was a small gesture that meant a lot. It’s the little things that make the difference, especially when you’re out and about with a little one. 👶🍼 As always, the food is good and the service is great, but that bit of kindness deserves a special mention. Fair play to you, chef! 👏

28/09/2026: A very beautiful spot to have food at letterkenny . The rates go well with the taste . The staff is great and friendly as well . I am vegetarian and can confirm this is vegetarian friendly place and they take proper care of food serving and respect your food options at the deli counter. Lovely place to sit and enjoy food .

11/10/2026: Need to say - one of the nicest Irish breakfasts in a while 😋 Portions are definitely feeding you well 😛 Really nice place in the middle of Donegal Town Centre . Love the vibe .

24/09/2026: The first coffee house we frequented for our daily Irish breakfast during our stay in Donegal, in retrospect, it was one of the best breakfasts we had. Good, hearty, very friendly atmosphere and reasonable price.

02/06/2026: Great hotel rooms very modern location amazing. Service was good. Was in a package but found the residents menu was quite limited mainly fish,only one chicken dish and 1 meat dish which was steak which incurred a supplement . Though good we got was good.

10/05/2026: Stayed with a large group this weekend. The hotel and staff went out of their way to accommodate an early start for an event we were taking part in. Location is stunning. The food was outstanding.. special mention to Justin and Rihanna They were so lovely and enjoyed themselves along with the group in the evening ❤️👍 Home from home. look forward to a return visit soon

28/09/2026: Great food well priced. Yesterday was its last day of opening. Very sad to see it go. Thanks to all the staff etc for 16 great years.

20/08/2026: I was very shocked to have this desert presented to me. It had fallen apart and had little to no biscuit on the plate . I watched the cheesecakes come out to a group beside me and they were much bigger slices and together . I would also like to add that I was sitting for 20 minutes on my own before the desert came . It was a set menu and desert was to arrive after they collected my main course plate . Workers were walking by me constantly . Nobody asked how my meal was . Eventually someone copped that I was waiting for the desert . There was enough staff to deal with the little crowd in there but I felt ignored . My advice is to show the same care to solo travellers as to groups or couples .

24/08/2026: The food was really good, an excellent variety and not very long wait times. They could’ve marked which burger is which to avoid confusion the next time. Not a lot of indoor seating, would recommend just taking away

27/06/2026: Always such lovely customer experience at Purple Velvet. The treats selection is always amazing and the service in particular is always friendly and quick!! The new PV Acai van is such a fun new addition for summer and the girls are so helpful and their attention to detail in making your order is just fab!

23/09/2026: Was excited to eat in this cafe after researching and was very happy that we did. It's located on a beautiful hill in the town and has a lovely vibe inside. The staff and chef were very friendly and the food itself was delicious (and I am very fussy eater).
