23/10/2025: The place is very well located. We really liked the overall decor internally. It was bright and sunny while we were there, so we really liked hanging out. We ordered burger, wrap, and a salad. The salad was really delicious and very very healthy. I want to highly recommend it to anyone visiting here (especially if you are vegetarian). The wrap was also good !! The burger was okayish - it was too sweet because of the relish. Maybe it’s a personal preference thing !! The staff were nice and friendly, however, another small feedback is regarding providing drinking water to the guests :) Not deducting any star for these small things 😅 Because we enjoyed being there. Thanks You - will visit again 🙌🙏

14/10/2025: Great little coffee shop. We came in just before closing and they still took our order. The hot chocolates were delicious and not too sweet. The lemon cake was very tasty as well. We spoke to 3 different staff and they were all very friendly.

17/02/2026: Took our daughter there for a 21st birthday treat. Our 2nd visit but first overnight stay. She has additional needs and was made to feel like a princess. Had scones and coffee/tea in the afternoon, while we waited for the rest of our party. Pre dinner drinks by the fire. We had a very good meal and returned to the bar area where we sat and drank until bedtime. The rooms were clean and comfortable. Breakfast was very good. I had the full irish, daughter had pancakes with lots of fruit and honey. I also had melon and was too stuffed for breakfast scones. Our daughter was able to get upstairs with help but had to come down on her bottom, so if you can't manage stairs be aware. Overall, a very good experience, one we enjoyed immensely.

27/03/2026: The hotel has a great location however the nightly rate of €300 B/B per night I thought was over the top for the standard, the hotel is tired and needs some upgrades

05/01/2026: Beautiful place to stay. Food excellent. Staff very attentive and friendly. Only thing that was lacking was the Christmas decorations inside and out. It was between Christmas and New Year we stayed a few days.

13/07/2026: Something ‘fishy’ going on here? I know Chowder and Chicken begin with the same sound, but Chowder should definitely not taste like Chicken! Seriously, 2 spoonfuls were enough to wonder if this was a mistaken order, some desperate chef shortcut, or extreme cost cutting- strain the liquid from some bad cream of chicken soup mixture as a substitute for real cream, bung in some flavoring with an odd bit of fish, and no-one will notice? If not that, very hard to understand how Chowder could taste like that - unless it’s not made in the kitchen with fresh ingredients, but it’s mostly a pre-packaged heat and go.

10/07/2026: Many years ago over half a decade i arrived here with friends to sit down and chill and i was greeted by the most kind and welcoming women who was so nice as to give me a free water which inspired me to try the food because i didnt want ti leave without buying anything after her service and then i had the most amazing food i have ever had and even better views of the ocean 10/10

15/05/2026: Big pub Very cold pub, heating non existant Toilets need a really good clean. Staff all lovely, Guinness nowhere near as good as it used to be.

20/04/2026: Cool pub which has everything. Busy on the day but heard it was good Guinness there but was only average imo. Has a lot of little rooms so easy to find your own space.

21/03/2026: We met for lunch. The food was excellent, cooked fresh and served with a smile. The staff were lovely; very friendly and helpful. Would definitely recommend.

16/03/2026: Very disappointed with our meal here. After getting a recommendation, we decided to have Sunday lunch here. We were told that no tables were available until 16:30, so we booked for then. We duly turned up at that time,and they tried to seat us in the wrong part. After pointing this out, we were taken to find a virtually empty restaurant. So, why having to wait until 16:30 for lunch? The young staff ignored us for a while until we called one of them over. We chose the Sunday roast, which was a very limited menu (2 starters, 4 mains, 2 desserts). We ordered, only to be told that they had run out of lamb. Have you been around Donegal? What is there a lot of? Sheep! The chowder was rather thin and the vegetable soup uninspiring. The mains were OK (just), although the Yorkshire puddings looked like Aunt Bessie's and were tepid. I chose the crumble for dessert and asked for it, and the custard, to be very hot. So, of course, when it arrived it was stone cold (not even warm). That got sent back... Overall - very poor quality and we won't be returning.

01/05/2026: Absolutely perfect. Huge room. Very warm. Clean bedding. Great location just across from the beach. Friendly staff and nice atmosphere in the bar area too. I highly recommend! I would definitely return

01/07/2026: Vegan, vegetarian & plant-based travelers: just call ahead, and the kitchen will make sure to have a full menu of vegan starters and mains for you to choose from. Make sure to mention how many members of group are vegan, so that they can plan accordingly. We were very impressed with the service, and with the quality of the vegan options. We will definitely be returning soon!

02/07/2026: July 2026: Guys, we ate here our entire vacation. Excellent food, friendly staff, always smiling, and even Wimbledon on the screens. Even though it's called the Oyster Bar, it doesn't have oysters, but that doesn't stop us from having an experience we'll definitely repeat. THANK YOU

12/02/2026: Great restaurant with excellent food and service. Couldn't be more complementary about the staff here. They were so attentive and friendly. The food was of a high standard, with the goats cheese and scallops starters being a particular highlight for us. Whilst it is an expensive menu, it absolutely delivers.

From the moment we arrived, the staff were welcoming and the venue had that calm, polished atmosphere that makes you feel like you’re in good hands. We were served a set menu, and the selection was surprisingly impressive for a large group. For starters, we had a choice between a classic vol-au-vent — buttery, flaky, and filled with a rich, savoury mix — or a cream of vegetable soup that was smooth, comforting, and perfect for the season. You could tell the kitchen puts real care into even the simplest dishes. For the mains, the options catered to every taste: Roast Hereford sirloin of Irish beef, tender and full of flavour Traditional turkey and ham, beautifully carved and festive Baked fillet of Atlantic salmon, cooked just right with a lovely freshness Although the service took a little longer than expected ⏳, especially between courses, it honestly felt worth the wait once the food arrived. Everything tasted freshly prepared rather than rushed, which I appreciated — quality over speed any day. Dessert was the highlight for many of us: the Best Ever Castle Festive Plate. It lived up to its name 🎄🍮 — a generous, indulgent selection that felt like a celebration on a plate. The perfect sweet ending. Outside, the car park was spacious, easy to navigate, and well laid out, with plenty of room even during a busy event. I also noticed the wheelchair-accessible spaces and pathways, which is always reassuring to see — accessibility done properly makes a big difference 🚗♿. Overall, Lough Eske delivered a polished, enjoyable experience with great food, a beautiful setting, and thoughtful facilities. Despite the slightly slower service, the quality made it worthwhile. I’d happily return for another event or even a relaxing meal — it’s the kind of place that leaves a lasting impression 🌟.

09/02/2026: Tried all the pubs in the village but always settle on a favourite. Great atmosphere with locals but mostly tourist visitors. All the pubs dog friendly and felt very relaxed bringing in our dog. Excellent pints at reasonable price. Really enjoyed the music on Friday evening.

06/06/2026: Where do I even start ? Possible the greatest ever night of my life, better than the birth of my child. Place was pumping, staff were friendly, great pint selection and the live singers will make it to the very top. Very talented !
