The best restaurants in Donegal

23/06/2026: The most miserable "bowl" of chicken wings I have ever had the misfortune of ordering. €10.95 for 7 pieces, which in this place constitutes a bowl here....burnt on one side too.

03/05/2026: Beautiful food! All three of us loved our meal, wish this restaurant was closer to home but we would definitely visit again if and when we visit letterkenny again!

19/05/2026: Food is clearly home made. Very tasty lunches. Lovely vegetable soup, real vegetable pieces and not too creamy or thick. The quiche was excellent.

27/06/2026: Great place but FILTHY!! We arrived first thing in the morning and there was chocolate all over the toddlers play area and sweet wrappers in the ball pit. I don't understand why there aren't cleaning schedules for places like this when they are accessed by children. Disgraceful.

15/07/2026: 5 June 26 - we found this through a search and were delighted to eat here rather than trying to find somewhere to park in Letterkenny proper. This is so much more convenient. Don't be put off by the location, through an industrial estate. // Katsu Chicken Burger - very tasty with good sauce; Gambas Pil Pil - tastes as good as it looks in my pic; Donegal Steak Sambo, and sweet potato fries. // Also discovered 'Football Special' non-alco drink for the first time (check the internet for that too). // Very good quality, well cooked, and very tasty. We would have gone for breakfast when we moved on from the area to our next rental, but they don't open Tuesday & Wednesday.

17/07/2026: Absolutely beautiful wee coffee spot that serves the best scones about. Out door seating and few seats inside. Services excellent coffee and pastries and brilliant friendly member of staff

15/07/2026: Food was decent. Grilled cheese and tomato soup we're a good combo and good portions. Cafe seems to be permanently closed and there is no toilets which is strange when it's on such a busy route, and frankly was a pain with young kids. Probably would put me off coming back given you really have to travel to it.

30/06/2026: We were here today. The name and pictures in the window bear no resemblance to what we got. At the entrance to the restaurant, there are beautiful photos of grilled meat. We asked for grilled steak. Look what they brought us. And for that, 25 euros? If you want real grilled meat, this place will definitely disappoint you. Why put such a pretty picture at the entrance if you don't cook it in the kitchen?

21/06/2026: Me and my fiancé ate here this evening, the staff were so pleasant, the service was brilliant and so fast and the food was excellent and not expensive at all. I couldnt fault anything with this establishment. Will most definitely be back when ever we are in town again.

21/05/2026: Our visit here was a lovely experience. The food the staff the place itself were all excellent. What else can I say. If you are a whiskey drinker, the owner also has a distillery and their whiskey is very good too. My favourite was the version called Alba.

19/05/2026: Great food and great service. We had to wait maybe 5 minutes for a table, the place was packed so we thought it would maybe take a while for the food to get out, but everything came out quite fast. Enjoyed the lamb and the duck, and the steamed mussels as well. Great restaurant if you’re in the area.

06/06/2026: Stayed in downing Bay hotel along with 40+ other golfers on 4th June 2026 .. what a fabulous hotel very friendly and helpful staff nothing was any bother for them. Rooms were beautiful and spotlessly clean would highly recommend this to anyone looking a wee break away . Will definitely return

02/06/2026: Had a family dinner here and food was delicious and staff where very attentive. Best turkey and ham we have had in a long time. Would of been 5 star only we didn't get to sample the cheesecake as they have ran out! Will be back.

30/05/2026: I only arrived today for a four day stay and I want to come back already. The welcome you get is heartwarming, the rooms are beautiful and spotless and the food in the restaurant is to die for. Congratulations to all the management and staff for simply doing things right ✅️

04/07/2026: Absolutely terrible service stood there while 3 employees behind the could didn’t have the decency to say I’ll be with you in a minute, while I stood at the counter, walked out down the road to dip n sip got a smile,chat and coffee cost nothing to be nice, work on your customer service.

12/06/2026: We were looking for somewhere quiet to have dinner while on vacation and my mom and I found this place while staying in Donegal Town. The food was good and the dining room was really cool. The gin and tonics were delicious. Definitely the perfect place if you want to get out of the town center when it’s busy.
