03/10/2025: Stopped for a coffee on the way to Rosapenna. We needed a caffeine boost and found the perfect spot. A lovely sunny Sunday afternoon and this place was busy! Always a good sign. One staff member on duty behind the counter so had to wait a little while. We had our coffees and some cake outside in the courtyard area, enjoying the Autumn rays 😎 Great experience Would recommend 👌

07/12/2025: Come here if you want to be talked about by members of staff and giving u dirty looks. Daga the hostess, probably the most incompetent person I have ever met in my life. Too busy looking after her friends and bitching about paying customers in polish. Can’t even string a sentence together and when confronted about what was witnessed she could hardly speak. Will never even return because of that service

07/12/2025: My partner and I went in for dinner and drinks. Staff had ignored us on arrival, we waited for about 15 minutes to be seated which resulted in us just finding a seat for ourselves. We then tried to get the attention of a staff member to order food. This also didn’t happen and in the end up I had to approach the bar and ask for menus to be given out for not waiting to be seated. They had moved us then which was fine we didn’t mind. At this point I was starving. Ordered food which was lovely but wasn’t given any knife or fork. Lastly my partner tried to order another drink after food. We waited over 30 minutes in the end he had to go to staff yet again that he didn’t receive it and bluntly told that it’s not on the bill. No apology or anything. The service was soo bad. I usually love it in here but I doubt I’ll ever be back after that.

14/07/2025: Didn't visit their Carndonagh cafe, but was at the mobile one at Malin Head. First class service (sorry, i didn't ask your name) and coffee & cake were out of this world! Cant recommend enough and will def be visiting their main cafe the next time im comimg through Carndonagh 👍👍

26/10/2025: We had an absolutely fantastic lunch at Simple Simon in Donegal Town! I ordered the vegetarian rosti, and it was outstanding — perfectly crunchy on the outside with layers of creamy avocado, topped with fresh arugula and tangy pickled red cabbage. The sides of roasted beets, feta cubes, and pumpkin seeds added the perfect balance of flavor and texture. My husband went for the BLT, which was packed with flavor — beautifully toasted bread filled with crisp bacon, a perfectly cooked egg, and fresh salad greens. Everything tasted so fresh and thoughtfully prepared. They also have a great selection of coffees, which made the meal even better. Cozy atmosphere, friendly staff, and beautifully presented dishes — can’t recommend this spot highly enough!

02/11/2025: Great staff very friendly and work efficiently. Restaurant is clean Food was ok, massive portions (make smaller portions for a cheaper price) 2 of us ate here, we got a burger and fires each ,a portion of wings, 2 drinks and 3 dips. It came to over €60. Very expensive for whats basically chipper food. Burgers are called smashed burgers on the menu but it's just a bit of beef flattened. A smash burger should have crispy edges the meat should be caramelised.

26/10/2025: First time here was unsure what to expect. Book in advance(had to eait 15 minutes a walk in. Server seated us and didnt explain that you order at the counter. When I went up and ordered,when we asked for loaded chips as a side,they didnt make it easy but we got there, but a friend with us asked for the sqme and wasnt able to. Food was good,portions decent and good range on the menu

28/10/2025: Wow! This pub was so good that we stayed an extra day in Donegal to come back again. The first night was absolutely brilliant. Two different (and really good) live acts, really friendly people, and a brilliant atmosphere with lots of singing, dancing, cheers, etc. Because the second band was so good, we decided to stay another night and see them play on the Monday night. The man working that night was really lovely, helpful, friendly and informative about the area. I thought the first night couldn't be topped, but it definitely was. One person described it as the best night of her life. How the woman on the bar coped, I have no idea, but she did, and kept the drinks coming while genuinely smiling and working through it all. A phenomenal place. Must visit.

22/08/2025: The choice on the menu was excellent. I had the 8oz steak and my friends had the cod and the salmon after the excellent cabin chicken starters. We were not disappointed in any of the dishes. The staff were excellent and very friendly. A first class dining experience and I would highly recommend an TSúgain to my friends. GRMA
