The best restaurants in Dublin

16/04/2025: Decor lovely but cold air coming down on top of us. Food was underwhelming and overpriced. Wine very expensive - same bottle in store would be around 20 euro. Paid 5 times that. Waiter did not seem interested. Got two orders wrong. No starter came for my guest and my starter (Duck salad) came as a main. Personally would not return.

12/04/2025: I visited this restaurant with my sister and daughter.We were extremely disappointed with our visit. Almost one hour after arriving for our reservation we had still not received our starters. When the food eventually arrived our Prawn Cocktail was tasteless. I chose Fish and Chips and my local chipper in Cork does a far superior dish. Tables around us filled and emptied. The stress of the delay and shocking service ruined our evening.

15/03/2025: I just stopped by here today 15/03/2025 to meet a relative. We had a few beers but nothing to eat. Pleasant bar staff. Nice quaint interior. Toilets were spotless. Just one problem the head on the second and third pint of Guinness was too big. Overall a good pub to visit.

12/04/2025: Small cozy place with lovely staff, very warm and relaxing atmosphere. Pizza was really good ,pizza dough really top range and all ingredients so tasty.amazing.

11/04/2025: I have been living in the area for over a year and I only just found this place. Nestled on a quiet side street a lovely authentic small Neapolitan Italian Pizzeria. I will definitely be back. The pizza reminded me of being in Naples, the service was with a smile and the ambiance was perfect.

03/11/2024: Lovely little Cafe. Three ladies behind the counter were amazing, friendly and well run. The cafe was very busy and I can see why. Good choices of good honest food. All of us enjoyed our meals. We'll done ladies!

21/03/2025: Had the "Fancy pants" afternoon tea and it wasn't great. Some of the scones were inedible, rock hard, stale. The bread in the sandwiches wasn't super fresh either. The desserts were very night but chocolate heavy and there were a lot of them (the best thing about the whole presentation). Cocktails were nice and service was friendly but I won't be rushing back for the food.

21/04/2025: We ate here 2 weeks ago myself and my elderly mother .Had to return dinner twice so dissipointed No manager came over even to apologise .Wont ever be back in .

01/04/2025: Barman is incredibly rude, was here for the afters of a funeral, me and my family were poorly treated the whole night. It's such a shame that one man with such a cheap on his shoulder can ruin a whole night. Management really need to have a long look at what they're doing.

01/04/2025: Totally agree with the review below about the change in ownership. Also been drinking & eating here for over 12 years, & regularly pop in on a Sunday for a pint & a roast. I will never be back under the current ownership & management. They’re appalling, utterly defensive, & take everything personally. I was there on Sunday evening with my older son. We sat at the bar at 7pm & ordered a roast beef & lasagne. After what we thought was 45 mins we still hadn't received our food. My son was getting very hungry & upset that it was taking so long. At no point did anyone update us. I asked at barman if he could check & he came back saying it would be just 5 more minutes, with no apology for the wait. I said I'd like to talk to the manager & when she came over I was met with a faux interest in what my issue might be, repeating it's "one of the busiest nights of the year" & my food would be out shortly. I thought they'd simply forgotten or lost the order, & she refused to accept that. She got the receipt which proved that it had been 36 mins since we'd ordered. I said it was brutal they hadn't updated us. She claimed she's "running two restaurants", including the old man's bar next door. I've drank here for 12 years & have never seen a hot meal in the bar next door. She then claimed they also had a staff shortage due to a mysterious "virus" or "bug", which was ironic on one of their busiest days of the year, & that there was already a small army of 20-something-year-olds on the floor. I asked her to consider before I paid the bill. Our meals arrived 2 mins later & the beef had clearly been under a kitchen heater lamp for some time, as the surface of it was completely dry & hardened. My son's "lasagne" was just layers of pasta with minimal beef in between, & he barely ate it. She asked was the food OK & I outlined it wasn't. She then said I was starting to shout, which was in no way the case, it was simply loud & I had to raise my voice a little so she could hear me. I again asked that she simply consider the service before we pay. When we finished, she came over (after I had to ask for her again) with the bill & & asked for the full amount for both meals, despite my son haven not eaten 60% of the “Pasta Sheets Sans Beef”. I said didn’t think the full amount was fair given the service and quality of the food, that I’d only like to pay for one. She refused. I said I’d like a beer I drank to at least be discounted, and she refused, only for me to recall I’d already paid for that separately. She refused any discount whatsoever. I said I'd been a customer for 12 years, spend c€1000 a year & would never come back if she wouldn't please reconsider. She refused again. I then said I was going to write this review. She replied I was "going to ruin a family run business" by doing so. I said one review wouldn’t do that if it was actually viable business. When I repeated I was going to write the negative review she then accused me of "threatening" her, personally. I was at pains to explain to this, seemingly quite inexperienced “manager”, that saying I’m going to write a negative review of a hospitality business for poor service and poor quality food was in no way a person threat, it was just a fact. I tried to pay with one card, but it didn't work. I stood up to get my wallet & before I could she accused me of theft if I left without paying! I paid, laughed, & left. I will not be back again under that management. For there to be no recognition whatsoever that I had a legitimate grievance about the service and food, to only be defensive, & then to react personally, without an offer of any discount, is appalling. The service provided was indicative of the inexperience of hospitality staff since the pandemic. They assume your money is theirs by the mere fact you’ve entered the establishment, & any expression of dissatisfaction is met with a) complete defensive/disdain, b) claiming you're being aggressive, and then c) being personally offended. The sooner the manager here learns a lesson, the better. But I'm not paying for it.

14/03/2025: I had a fantastic experience at Java Coffee Republic, thanks to Magda and the team of girls. They were all incredibly welcoming and provided excellent service. Magda was very friendly and has always positive vibes ,really made me feel good, and the girls were attentive, ensuring my coffee was just prefect!. The atmosphere was warm and inviting, and I left feeling completely satisfied. Highly recommend! 10/10

10/03/2025: Hands down the best coffee blends out there! Recently, I had the pleasure of dealing with Jolanta, regarding an order and some other 'issues'. I received the most amazing customer service, flawless in every way. There was full accountability, even though that could have been questioned. The way you treat your customers, proves to me that you really care about what you're doing.

25/03/2025: I ordered the Cajun burger, it comes with a side and i chose the regular fries. The fries were good and a nice portion. The burger was one of the best that I've had, the only problem for me was that the first bites you could taste the spicy but it wasn't overwhelming, it complemented the burger but in the end it was a lot (for me). But the taste was amazing and one of the best fried chicken I ate. I ordered takeaway so I couldn't experience the atmosphere for long, but the restaurant is small and there were groups there that made the space really loud. Really nice decorations tho. Service was amazing, everyone was so nice and attentive. I would go again!

23/04/2025: The hotel is in an ideal location The receptionist who checked me in found it very difficult to understand English which was quite frustrating. When I got to my room I found it very run down and tired. Certainly wasn't worth the money. Breakfast does not start until 8am
