07/06/2026: This was the perfect late-night spot in Temple Bar for food! ​My mom and I stopped by this lovely shawarma place in the heart of Temple Bar for a late-night bite after exploring the local pubs and bars, and it was the perfect end to our evening. ​The staff here are incredibly friendly and welcoming. While we were waiting for our food, they actually brought us a complimentary veggie soup, which was absolutely delicious. It was such a sweet, thoughtful gesture that made the place feel like home, which you don't usually expect from a late-night spot! ​My mom ordered the falafel and I got the shawarma. When the food arrived, the portion sizes were incredibly generous, and we could barely even finish them! Everything was fresh and packed with flavor. ​If you are out late in the Temple Bar area and want great food paired with genuinely warm service, I highly recommend checking this place out!

25/05/2026: Im just of every takeaway going wrong these days. Ordered Katsu curry - came with no curry sauce. How does that happen. Anyway foods ok prices are high delivery took 1hr and 15m and it was missing a key component. Frustrating.

18/05/2026: ​Highly recommended! I tried the Spice Bag from Camile Thai Phibsborough and it was absolutely delicious. The chicken was crispy, perfectly seasoned, and had just the right amount of kick. It’s a huge portion.

08/03/2026: First time there yesterday. Have always passed it over the years and always wanted to go in for a pint. Walked in yesterday. Sound barman served us Fantastic Guinness. It's a beautiful pub. Had a nice stroll around it as it wasn't busy in the afternoon. Will definitely return.

02/02/2026: Classy pub, with the traditional storefront, hardware and perfume bottles that used to be for sale. "Just going to the hardware store to buy a couple of nails and an Eau de Cologne", that old tradition. Heineken 0.0 on tap, that's pretty rare, and cool.

04/01/2026: We ordered two burgers and some fries to share. The fries were tasty but a bit spicy and hot. We ordered the ones with lettuce, pickles, and veggie patty, but there was very little meat, hardly any at all. I quite liked my "chicken" burger, except for the buffalo sauce, which was incredibly hot. I had to remove one of the bun halves because I can't handle spice and I didn't like it at all. I asked the waiter to add a slice of cheese to my burger because none of the "chicken" burgers include cheese. The other burger was a double "meat" smash, very tasty but nothing special compared to others we've tried. Overall, we liked the place and the food was good, that's undeniable, but we've had better veggie options. Even so, we liked it and would go back, but we'd try other choices. What we liked least was that it was very cold inside, and also that the burger didn't come with its own fries.

28/03/2026: Great pub in a prime location. Besides delicious Guinness, it's also perfect for watching sporting events like rugby on a big screen.

04/05/2026: We visited here on Sunday 3rd May. The staff were so accommodating with providing a table in a already very heavily reserved bar!! ( we had not booked in) The service and food were fabulous. Children's menus provided and no issue at all with accomodating children's quirky requests!! Prices are so reasonable for lovely fresh, delicious food. Would highly recommend McGowans of Phibsborough and we will definitly be back.

26/04/2026: A sensational meal, that will stay with me for a long time. Service from Ailish and Johnny was exceptional. This is an elevated food experience that surpassed all expectations. It is clear that the team and chef Damian are operating at an elite level but it never felt forced. A must visit if you like food served with joy and wit.

07/12/2025: Recommended this place by the team at Hot Box Sauna. Amazing coffee, the foam for the flat white was silky smooth. Can’t wait to pop back it will become my weekly coffee spot.

07/06/2026: Ordered delivery from Admiral and everything was perfect. The food arrived hot, very tasty, and well packed. Great quality and reliable service — will definitely order again! UPD: We finally visited in person and enjoyed it even more. The atmosphere was lovely, everything we ordered was delicious, and the service really stood out. Our waiter was incredibly warm and welcoming, and we found out he has been working there for more than 20 years, which says a lot about the place. Definitely recommend!
