The best restaurants in Wicklow

24/04/2026: Came here because a friend recommended it,honestly wish I hadn’t bothered. Walked in on my own and stood at the entrance for a good five minutes, completely ignored. Didn’t interrupt the staff because they all looked so “busy,” but with four people at the front and a half-empty restaurant, can’t help but wonder how you managed during peak hours. Okay I understood and decided to wait until one staff member finally walked over… and just skipped me entirely to talk to the couple behind me 😂 Sure, they had a reservation—fair enough. Sooner another group of three walked in and were told to wait while she checked for a table (so clearly, tables did exist).Again, ignored me the second time. Then I finally got the chance to be able to talk with the girl then I was told straight up by her: “We don’t have a table for one.”okay do u need the whole 10 minutes to tell me this information? Right. Left immediately.Not sure if staff training is necessary ,but the lack of basic customer service and the inconsistency was pretty telling. I assume the pasta I haven’t able to get is good but the first impression was just awful.

10/05/2026: Our first time to visit last night (group of 4) and although it was very busy and we had no booking we were very well looked after by all the staff. The quality of the food was excellent from our starters through to the deserts (I had a truly wonderful Wagyu burger). Super food & delightful service. We look forward to visiting again soon.

01/04/2026: We had a wonderful lunch here yesterday! Everything was exceptionally clean and well-maintained. The food was delicious and beautifully presented. Special thanks to the staff – they were incredibly polite and made us feel truly special. Definitely recommended!

30/11/2025: Fantastic coffee shop. Sausage rolls are to die for, and coffee is always amazing. Tried the dark peppermint mocha, interesting take it was nice for a change

30/03/2026: Rain or shine, this place is def worth a visit. People who work there are super friendly. Has some random grocery items, along with pottery from a local that day. I got a small piece made by her, so cute! Went on a Sunday for a coffee and scones, both were very good. Sat on a cozy couch near a wood burning stove on a cold and rainy day. Did some writing and relaxed. A lovely place, be sure to stop if in the Glendalough area.

10/04/2026: We spent a wonderful week's holiday at the Horse and Hound and were delighted by the outstanding hospitality. All the staff were very friendly and helpful, the food was excellent, and they even accommodated special requests, such as those related to lactose intolerance. The rooms are comfortably furnished and clean, and we found the beds very comfortable. The free parking directly behind the hotel was also very convenient. We were particularly impressed by the Irish music evening in the pub, which was truly authentic and not a tourist show at all. Thank you for the wonderful time! The Meurer Family

19/04/2026: We were 4 for dinner. The staff so courteous and attentive. Tandoori chicken a great hit with the ladies, rice really tasty. Jalferzi prawns excellent. Very pleased with our visit and a lovely interior, comfortable. Popadum and tasters a bit skimpy though.

19/03/2026: We went without a reservation over St. Patrick's Day weekend and were greeted with good cheer despite the crowds. The value for money is more than fair. We thoroughly enjoyed our meal. Special mention to the unusual toilet door… I won't say any more ;)

16/03/2026: Was here for mother's day. Harry at the door presented me with a yellow tulip. Such a lovely touch. The food was unbelievable. The service was outstanding by a lovely young lady with long black hair I didn't catch her name, she was so patient with my 3 kids which made our experience very smooth. She was quick to order our food quick in getting it out and on the ball with their desserts. There was no messing around with her. Will definitely be back with the family....
