10/05/2026: They serve a great fish & chips. You can choose regular or large. Served with a very tasty salad , mushy peas & a geat tartar sauce. Very tasty light battered cod. Exceptional views across the bay to County Clare. Outside seating area. Service was fast & pleasant. Ate at lunchtime.

31/10/2025: Had dinner here recently, I would be a semi regular at this spot. Not sure if it’s been leased out since the last time I was there, as I didn’t see any of the old familiar faces working on the night I was there. What has changed is the introduction of a 10% service charge, which is extremely disappointing to see, none of my other usual spots in Clifden or its surrounding areas have this, so not sure why it’s been introduced here. I wasn’t aware of this until I was paying the bill, it might be on the menu, I’m not sure, but it definitely didn’t apply last time I visited. Probably going to give it a miss for a while, might pop back when the VAT rate gets reduced, see if the service charge still applies. If it does, I’ll be trying somewhere else up the street!

11/05/2026: We recently held a private dinner event in the Aran Suite and could not fault a single thing, over 150 of us attended. From the very first enquiry, the planning process was smooth and stress-free. Killian listened carefully to every request we had and delivered on all of them. That kind of attentiveness makes such a difference when you're organising an event for a large group. The room was set up beautifully, the food was delicious, and the value for the quality on offer was exceptional. And those views. The Aran Suite looks out over Galway Bay , it genuinely adds something special to the whole occasion. The team throughout the evening were warm, professional, and nothing was too much trouble. The event was a real success and a big part of that was down to the Connemara Coast employees. We would not hesitate to return and would recommend it wholeheartedly for any private or group occasion.

09/05/2026: Amazing staff, loved them. Good parking and of course location. The issue i always find with hotels is: you pay three figures to stay overnight away from your own home. So ideally, you're going because it's an exciting and troubleless time. I found the room to be just overall... a bit grubby. Surfaces were cleaned and all... but I don't even have hair myself and when I went to run a shower there were several little hairs in it. The shower curtain was grotty and just too old and yellowed at the bottom for somewhere charging €147+ p/n. I stayed alone and ended up using the two towels provided because the first one i picked up had black things crusted into it. Almost like a bit of leaf.. not a stain... they wouldnt brush off though. When I went to turn off the lamp, of course i found that it was sticky & dusty. I just.... struggle to marry the asking price to that standard of care. Not the house keeping teams fault either. There are a gazillion rooms here and probably too few personnel. You cant manage everything. Maybe they need to bring on more? Or lower prices. Bed comfortable thanks be to god. Wanted to like it, not sure i did.

10/05/2026: Best Fish & Chips ever. The fish was delicious and cooked perfectly, the batter was crunchy and stayed crunchy even after been in the box (not burnt). The chips were from fresh potatoes. Serves with a little tub of tartar sauce and a chunk of lemon. A good portion so don't be snacking on the way there 🤣 There's a q of cars waiting patiently so you may have a wait. You can ring ahead with your order. The service was perfect and the lady in charge put chat on everyone. Check the opening hrs, not open on Sundays. We discovered this great spot when out for a Sunday drive so returned on a Sat and it was worth the hour drive ❤️ I have recommended to many people since my visit and it's on their list of places to get to this Summer. I'm sure they will enjoy as much as we have.

02/04/2026: A great place for a dinner in the Balinasloe area. We went for a lunch and the staff were excellent, food was speedy and great quality. I know Balinasloe isn't exactly a bustling city but if you're in the area it's a beautiful stop off and I'd recommend you have lunch here for sure!
