The best restaurants in Galway

21/08/2026: 2 star at best. Cold food thrown at us. Asked for reheat for seafood chowder, hot soup poured onto cold and served back to me.

20/08/2026: Worth a visit! The best chowder I had throughout my trip in Ireland. Very cozy atmosphere and friendly staff.

09/07/2026: Really good, seafood, ravioli, great beer, selection, good Lamb, good seafood prawns OK Middle Eastern rice dish, very friendly service. Highly recommend.

10/08/2026: A wonderful discovery, excellent cuisine. We hadn't booked and a large group was expected, but the very friendly waitress found us a table, apologizing in advance for the wait. We were finally served quickly. Everything was delicious, with generous portions. A bonus: €1 billiards.

01/08/2026: Seafood chowder was loved by my 5 year old who finished his bowl and tried to lick it clean. Nothing is over salted which I really appreciate. My other son had pizza and though it looked like your typical frozen pizza they must have added extra cheese bc it was so wonderfully cheesy. I had the soup of the day which is the vegetable soup and felt the price and quantity reflected a fair exchange. Most restaurants make the veg soup to salty to give it more flavor so I appreciate being able to taste the blend of vegetables. The cheeses garlic bread was small and would be a pass for us when we come back.

09/07/2026: Amazing experience, would highly recommend a visit. We arrived for 10.15 on a Sunday and spent the day exploring, and attending the history talks to learn more about Kylemore. Had a wonderful dinner in the restaurant, walked to the walled garden, there is a shuttle bus, but we walked, had coffee and cake in the Tea Rooms.

09/07/2026: This was a spur of the moment trip on our vacation, and it turned out to be the highlight. The camera does not do the area justice. It’s a majestic place that you have to see in person. The mountains are magnificent, paired with the beautiful castle, again the camera doesn’t begin to capture it.

26/07/2026: We had dinner here three nights in a row, and each time, the food was great, as was the service (who never missed a detail).

30/06/2026: We spent a long weekend in Murray's the staff could not do enough for us. The rooms are so spacious and recently refurbished. The food and music was great , I cannot wait to return next year.

10/06/2026: What a pleasant surprise this hotel was. Outstanding food (and I mean outstanding) beautifully stylish and comfortable bedroom (we had a sea view room). The helpfulness and friendliness , not to mention the competence, of all the staff was the best we have encountered in the last twelve months in three continents! Well done to all at the Doonmore hotel, to owners Andrew and Donna, what truly lovely genuine hosts you were. Wishing you all many more years of success.

09/06/2026: Very calm and well decorated establishment, the food portions are perfect and seasoned very well the staff is very nice and looked after us very well

08/05/2026: We stopped with our 91yo mother and extended family. We had the most delicious lunch. I had the goat cheese sambo, the bread was excellent - sourdough roll. Portion size was just perfect. The very best chocolate biscuit cake which is made on the premises is worth driving from Dublin for. The owner John & his staff are welcoming and very friendly. Will definitely be back.

06/08/2026: Great location if you get a sea view on the 1st floor. The food was good but a bit pricey. Service was ok but our table was cleared of things without us being asked, like it was a cheap motel. Like we just had to leave the place quickly.

07/08/2026: Fab food , wine and artisan produce. Unique, creative and quirky setting. Great coffee. Lovely friendly staff and great service. Great Art Gallery. Just off motorway and in central Location in town. Local seasonal produce. Love the place.

12/07/2026: Been here few times. Staff very friendly, just a shame they have a little bit more choice on the menu. Just pizza. No chips no ketchup available for kids. Otherwise lovely place to get simple food

07/08/2026: Got kebab tonight absolutely disgusting lads the worst food I ever got the chips were brown and crusty and the kebab was full with grease and salt and the bread was soggy , in the bin never again

17/06/2026: So glad we picked this stop on our way across the country. The staff were amazing, and so kind advising us on our travels. The hospitality is unmatched! Our group had the curry, burgers and salad and all were great!

15/08/2026: I eat here last saturday evening there was a table booked for 4 people & thank god as it was very busy inside but all the customers were either eating , waiting on there food or just about to order . I didnt take a photos as i was out with my husband ex boss , but food was very good .
