The best restaurants in Galway

14/12/2025: The food was delicious, the Chowder was one of the best I've ever had, the beef eye steak was amazing, everything was great, the service was excellent and the atmosphere was fantastic, there are TVs to watch the games and they have a terrace upstairs.

If we were ever to visit Ireland again, Abbeyglen Castle Hotel would be on the TOP of our list of places to stay!

13/11/2025: Our stay at Abbeyglen Castle Hotel was wonderful. The castle has so much character, the rooms are clean and comfortable, and the staff were warm and attentive throughout our visit. One of the absolute highlights was the evening talk. Hearing the history of the castle and the surrounding area brought the whole experience to life and made the stay feel even more meaningful. It was engaging, fun, and something that set Abbeyglen apart from any other stay we have had. We would love to return on our next trip to the area.

27/10/2025: Cozy pub/restaurant with a great view. The mussels were fresh and delicious, the seafood chowder was creamy and rich, and the crispy buttermilk chicken goujons were also really good.

10/12/2025: My partner ordered half and half with my chicken curry (rice and chips). He had to leave early and I paid. My bill was more than expected -I saw that I was charged €4 on my bill for a separate portion of chips. I remembered that they had done the same thing last time I was in, so it seems deliberate. It's not nice because most customers would feel uncomfortable bringing this up with the staff. Last time they grudgingly gave me a poxy €1 back as consolation. The Guinness pint tasted fizzy. I said nothing and left. I absolutely won't be returning.

05/12/2025: This lovely Gastro Pub has to be one of the very best around County Galway. The Food, Atmosphäre and friendly Staff is incredible. Highly recommended. I will be back.

09/08/2025: Don't let the rather bland exterior fool you as behind the facade is a 5 star family run hotel and restaurant serving some of the finest food I have tasted. Lovely to relax in the Green room with lovely views after your meal. Pet friendly a real deal maker!!

06/12/2025: Had a lovely one night stay. The room was great with a view of the beautiful rough sea. Great sitting areas in the hotel. The staff were so friendly. Ronait looked after us for lunch and breakfast and is a great asset to the hotel. We met Matthew at dinner, a fellow Cavan native. Another great asset to the hotel. Buffet breakfasts are never to my liking but I understand them. Lovely tea and coffee for a lazy breakfast. We will be back. Thanks

12/08/2025: I visited Niche Café and tried the Iced Matcha Strawberry — it was perfect. They really know how to make matcha right. I love that you can customise it to your taste, choosing your own milk and flavour. A great spot for matcha lovers.

16/12/2025: This is a great restaurant and the staff are friendly. We rang today for a take-out dinners and they had a wide variety of food on the menu. It was ready to collect in 30 minutes and they had the containers wrapped in tinfoil to keep the food warm. The food was delicious and great value for money. I highly recommend Sheridans for dining in too.

13/12/2025: Had lunch here on a friday lunchtime.Food was lovely.Service was fast and polite. Atmosphere was also very nice.Very handy little spot to eat on way home from galway.Guiness is also very good.Whole place was clean and tidy.Lasagna was very tasty.

23/11/2025: We loved the dinner at Guy's while visiting Clifden. Everyone was very friendly and helpful and we got some excellent recommendations. There are local beers and cocktails to try. Tried the ribeye burger and it was so good. Great selection of deserts as well.
