The best restaurants in Galway

08/09/2026: Wow! Totally blown away by this gem in Clifden. The food (we got the seafood skillet, soup, oysters, and mussels) were all delicious. The wine options were also great. The atmosphere and lighting was exceptional - so cozy and ambient, with so many private nooks and booths. The host and bartenders/servers were lovely and gracious. Would return any time and recommend as a stop to anyone! We went for dinner and were able to get sat at the bar with no reservation during the weekend, but they do get busy.

06/09/2026: I wouldn't go back and I wouldn't recommend to anyone. I found butchers string and a hair on the same plate, when I informed the server, he told me "oh, that's the lucky one" the sommelier was an absolute pain to listen to and when I asked him a question, he looked at me with distain and literally walked away . I've been to a few Michelin starred restaurant, I would go back to them all , except this one.. Just go to Aniar in Galway city. You don't feel like a burden on them.

30/06/2026: We spent a long weekend in Murray's the staff could not do enough for us. The rooms are so spacious and recently refurbished. The food and music was great , I cannot wait to return next year.

10/06/2026: What a pleasant surprise this hotel was. Outstanding food (and I mean outstanding) beautifully stylish and comfortable bedroom (we had a sea view room). The helpfulness and friendliness , not to mention the competence, of all the staff was the best we have encountered in the last twelve months in three continents! Well done to all at the Doonmore hotel, to owners Andrew and Donna, what truly lovely genuine hosts you were. Wishing you all many more years of success.

23/08/2026: Coffee was burnt and boiling. Espresso shouldn’t be made like that

23/08/2026: Coffee was a million degrees Celsius, which meant both the flavour of the coffee and my mouth were completely burnt.

07/10/2026: The Abbey is easily accessible and parking is free. The estate is very beautiful and the gardens are well-maintained. Unfortunately, we arrived 1.5 hours before closing time and still had to pay the full entrance fee of €18 per person. These are the rules, and I don't mean to criticize this, but rather to warn other visitors. We were also only able to visit a very small number of rooms on our own at the Abbey. I can't say whether this is different as part of a guided tour.

13/09/2026: Our Airbnb host recommended this place and we really liked it! We enjoyed cocktails as well but I didn't take pics of those.

07/09/2026: We had an Irish breakfast there today and it was absolutely fantastic! Friendly service, a wonderful welcome. Excellent value for money; we're still full hours later!

07/09/2026: Small and cozy place in the art village. Actually, during our trip around Ireland, this was probably the best Irish breakfast we had. The coffee was nice as well, and I really liked their approach to reusable takeaway cups. We took two with us and used them during the rest of our trip. Really happy we found this place. Definitely worth stopping by.

The pizza is god sent, when that cheese melted in my mouth i didn't know which country or planet i was on it is just heavenly what they do to the food like they have pearl jam on stand by. 10/10 would eat here again and again everyday
