The best restaurants in Galway

07/01/2026: Great place. I've been going to Clifden since I was a child and never been in before. We had a really great meal.

03/01/2026: It is conveniently placed in front of the bus stop, so it was easy to eat there while waiting for the bus. We had the penne pasta with cream sauce and mushroom and the steak sandwich. Portion size is generous and food is really good.

12/02/2026: We had a fantastic stay here. The staff are very nice. We had an excellent receptionist when checking in and out. The bar staff are extremely friendly. professional and accommodating. The lady working at breakfast time, stopped for a chat, and made us feel very welcome. The room we had was very neat and clean. Nice walk in shower/wet room and fluffy towels. Bed was very comfortable. The hotel is set in a great location with many beautiful natural locations on its doorstep. Can't wait to go back.

17/12/2025: June 2025: A great traditional pub in Leenaun just south of the head of the fjiord; nice pint of Guinness and a half of the Zero too. The food was a tasty fish and chips and the goat cheese parcel with salad. If you are in a Motorhome or camper van you can park overnight opposite in the public carpark for free which comes with a great view over the waters of the fjord.

27/10/2025: Cozy pub/restaurant with a great view. The mussels were fresh and delicious, the seafood chowder was creamy and rich, and the crispy buttermilk chicken goujons were also really good.

14/12/2025: The food was delicious, the Chowder was one of the best I've ever had, the beef eye steak was amazing, everything was great, the service was excellent and the atmosphere was fantastic, there are TVs to watch the games and they have a terrace upstairs.

03/01/2026: Excellent spot in Clifden. We highly recommend the seafood. Avoid the burgers and pizzas, which are good but only available during your stay or as a last resort. We also really liked the selection of good beers. Great location, good atmosphere. Very good with teenagers.

02/01/2026: We were in the area and stopped in at this restaurant recommended by friends. The welcome was friendly and attentive. The meat and fish dishes were delicious and beautifully presented (the oysters and mussels were exceptional), and we also really enjoyed the desserts. Highly recommended.

03/02/2026: For me, it was a total disappointment. The location is very pretty, but what you see in the photos is what you get. They charge €17 to enter, to see a completely renovated building trying to look old with modern furniture and decor. But the decor is awful; it looks like they went to one of those old-fashioned, tasteless discount stores to buy things. Seriously, going in is pointless, don't waste your money. We went to the gardens, which we'd read were beautiful, and oh my god, what an absolute letdown. I don't know if it was because it was January and they're better in the summer, but I assure you the place isn't worth the journey to get there, much less the entrance fee. It was what I was most excited to see because of its history, and yet it was the biggest disappointment, without a doubt.

07/12/2025: The place is very well located, views are awesome, and service was grand. We had roast beef, fish and chips and mussels. Portions are big, food was ok but we were expecting it to be better, I would go back there for the atmosphere but not for the food.

13/01/2026: Campbell's is a must visit every time I'm in Ireland. *Especially* on pizza nights, music nights, and it's *unmissable* if there's pizza AND music... Go out of your way if you're near Galway. It's worth it!

06/01/2026: We visited here for lunch. The main lounge was nice, bright, modern and warm. We were seated and had food orders taken. Servers were friendly and efficient. Food arrived quickly and was very good. We can recommend Moycarn Lodge.

05/01/2026: Nice cosy place to eat. Food 9.5 per cent is excellent. Staff are very nice and always very welcoming. Only down fall is when it's busy food is slow to come out.

07/01/2026: This restaurant gives my mothers food a run for its money... seriously... It is.. honest-to-god-good... really good.. I have yet to be less than really satisfied by my experience here.. Whether its bacon and cabbage, or steak... its a solid choice.. evertime... Thanks guys.

13/01/2026: Excellent service..very good gastro pub food ....friendly atmosphere ..great parking .decent price point...great location not far from city and en route to all the tourist attractions out the kinvara way and onto Clare.mire recently had the best steak sandwich in while if Galway city and county ...their pepper sauce is wow....
