07/01/2025: Was surprised by this pub, the atmosphere inside was lovely. A cold day outside was met by warmth and some lovely food. After cycling around in the cold this was heaven.

23/01/2025: Friendly staff, was busy Saturday afternoon during fair weather.
Portions are a good size, menu only available at the counter where you also order, was a bit difficult for older people to order.
The side salad to the Philo-pastry Quiche was very leafy with a nice light dressing.
10/12/2024: This place really leaves a lot to be desired. They charge €11 for a processed ham, cheese and smoky mayo toasted sandwich. No crisps or salad - just a basic sandwich.
Staff uniforms are dirty as are tables and floors. Will never return

Mitchell's Cafe, menu
01/12/2024: Breathtaking scenery, beautiful grounds and fantastic abbey. Would strongly recommend a visit. The back story and interactive materials in the house bring its history to life. Excellent restaurant also with delicious home cooked food.
28/11/2024: I did it 2 years ago. A lovely place, nice and quiet. You need walk and take few hours for the gardens and the abbaye

20/03/2025: Everything I ordered was excellent. From the calamari and seafood chowder to the burger and seafood pie. The atmosphere was calm and cozy, considering it was mid-March, but perfect for a chat. I absolutely recommend it!

27/10/2024: Cuando mi marido y mi hijo vieron esto en el menú, tuvimos que reservar (ninguno de los dos había visto The Quiet Man). Fuimos un domingo por la noche, y la reserva era sin duda recomendable. Pat Cohans tiene la sensación de un pub o salón tradicional. El personal era muy amable y la comida era increíble. Aún mejor podríamos traer a nuestro perro. (Nos sorprendió la poca cantidad de lugares en Irlanda que permiten que para la cena, comer dentro). Mucha gente sentirá que este es un lugar turístico, pero la calidad de la comida y el servicio demuestra que este es un restaurante que quiere mantenerse por sí solo (y no por su vínculo con la película)

01/03/2025: Superb fish and chips. My sister ordered the special of beef roast and potatoes. Very hard to cut with knife given and gristly.
23/02/2025: We had a lovely dinner here on our trip to Clifden. It is a must visit for your trip to Clifden, food is all cooked fresh and family run so excellent service and real community feeling! Dinner and breakfast are great here, excellent value for money also!

Great service with a smile and when more familiar with you, banter to enjoy.
Well worth the time to stop for a break from whatever your days involves.

Delicious French omelet with ham and cheese.

27/01/2025: Two of us passed by here this evening and got a chicken tikka kebab and a taco fries, which were both the best we’ve had in Ballinasloe! The man behind the counter couldn’t have been more welcoming, definitely recommend!!!

15/03/2025: So disappointed, my starter was brie, ice cold in the middle. Mains were disappointing, potatoes burnt,.I got the brill which was fine, however the sauce was tasteless and veg overdone. My husbands duck was fatty. Our chips came after we had nearly finished our mains, in fairness they took the price off them off the bill. As the place got busier the service disapproved, had to ask for our drinks several times. It was the same waiting for our bill, asked twice and they handed us the wrong one
Won't be going back .
08/03/2025: Fantástico almuerzo de pescado John Dory, verduras a la parrilla, patata bebé, puré de zanahoria y deliciosa salsa todo sin gluten y muchas otras ofertas en el menú para satisfacer al cliente sin gluten. Postre de sorbete y pera escalfada... Devine ... . . también para notar la provisión de pan tostado sin gluten que en realidad sabía bien ... el servicio era excelente y simplemente apreciaba verdaderamente la consideración de aquellos con necesidades alimentarias particulares. Volveré al 100%.
