Dishes were bursting with flavor. I was very well catered too with a shellfish allergy. If food is your thing you will not be disappointed.

08/08/2025: A very nice little hotel with tastefully furnished rooms, comfortable beds, newly renovated, a modern bathroom, a good breakfast buffet (you can order an extra breakfast), excellent taste, and everything prepared with love. Highly recommended.

20/06/2025: This little restaurant is very friendly. The food is simple but very good. It's best to be inside if it's sunny because there are no umbrellas. However, as soon as the crowds arrive, dropped off by the minibuses: what a horror! Tourists in waves and in all directions. We were on bikes, I was afraid of being run over...

14/08/2025: Great pub, with surprisingly great food and very friendly staff. We happened to be driving past and were seated immediately, even though it was very busy (seems to be a large family celebration). The fish we were served was delicious. Highly recommended and a little insider tip.

16/08/2025: Absolutely one of the best pizzas I’ve had in the Galway area! Fresh ingredients and that special touch make their pizza's unforgettable. Lovely atmosphere, super friendly staff, and right in the heart of Athenry with convenient parking nearby. Can’t recommend it enough! Important: make a reservation before you go. First time I tried without one they were fully booked.

13/08/2025: Amazing food, really tasty nachos and pizza! They also offer gluten free pizza which is great, this way my daughter was delighted to enjoy a pizza too. Really friendly and warm place. It's a great atmosphere. Can highly recommend this place.

05/09/2025: We arrived on a Friday evening at 7:45 p.m., without a reservation, the restaurant was full, but we received a lovely welcome. The staff kept us waiting, and a table was freed up fairly quickly. We ordered the daily special: sea bass for two with mussels and shrimp... what a delight! The prices were quite high, but they were totally justified. It's been a long time since I've enjoyed grilled fish so much. The chili, garlic, and parsley sauce was a delight. We didn't eat the side dishes, but we had no regrets. And the ocean view... friendly and attentive service. Lovers of all kinds of seafood, go for it!

15/07/2025: We really loved the beer garden on a sunny afternoon and they had the All Ireland football semi final on the big screen. Food looked amazing but we weren't hungry. Loads of seating inside as well. They had a nice kids menu too and the staff were lovely

05/09/2025: Mitchell's is one of those places that stays in your heart forever 💫 A small restaurant, but with an intimate, welcoming, and enchanting atmosphere, where every detail exudes care and passion. We started with exquisite mussels, an explosion of seafood flavors... and then the oysters, truly "out of this world," so fresh and unforgettable that they alone are worth the trip 🦪✨ We stumbled upon this place just by chance, but we found a place that left us with a magical memory. We'll definitely be back, because some places aren't just visited once: they're experienced and rediscovered 🌊💙

06/09/2025: Very busy on a Friday evening. Reservations recommended. Lots of staff scurrying around but not thst great of service. Meals were OK but the "mild" curry had virtually no flavor.

13/08/2025: A Let-Down on a Special Occasion – Would Not Recommend We stayed at this Connemara coast hotel for my wife’s birthday, expecting something special. Sadly, it was anything but. The biggest disappointment: we had arranged, by phone 2 days before the check in, breakfast in bed as a surprise for her birthday. It simply never arrived. I called the reception asking for the breakfast, at the time we were really frustrated, We received just a shrug and a weak excuse. For a place that markets itself as “luxury,” this was completely unacceptable. To make matters worse, the room had zero sound insulation. We could hear everything from the room next door also the kid on the next room was trying to open our door, conversations, doors banging, even someone coughing through the night. It felt more like a cheap hostel than a relaxing getaway. Connemara is stunning, but this hotel didn’t live up to the setting. Poor service, poor sleep, and a ruined birthday surprise. We won’t be coming back.

04/08/2025: Great gem at the heart of Carna, food is like home cooked and fresh food from home. Simple dishes with hearty taste. The owners husband on the ball with the service and even was kind enough to find my lost wallet and return it to me through some investigation! Thank you forever grateful.
