20/04/2025: Absolutely fabulous. Over the course of a 2½ hour lunch tasting menu in a beautiful setting, we ate like king and queen. Amazing food. Thanks so much to the wonderful staff for looking after us.

12/04/2025: Truly unforgettable — the best dining experience I’ve ever had. We had the 18-course tasting menu with wine pairings at Lignum, and it was nothing short of extraordinary. Every single course was creative, beautifully presented, and absolutely packed with flavour a real journey from start to finish. The wine pairings were so well thought out and elevated the whole experience even more. The service was next level, warm, knowledgeable, and perfectly paced. And the setting? Unreal. It strikes that perfect balance with a calm, atmospheric feel that just adds to the magic. Genuinely the most incredible food experience I’ve had can’t recommend it enough

12/05/2025: Super cup of coffee, deliciously fresh scone and gorgeous fruitfully filled jam. Quick service as we arrived at a quiet time. Peace was marred by the arrival of a group of children who were very noisy and pushy

25/04/2025: Love this place. I only seem to come when it’s super busy though so I have yet to sit inside. That’s not a flaw, it’s a sign of how popular it is. Hence the atmosphere outside on a windy misty day was mildly lower than what it is like inside. My breaded Brie salad was one of the best salads I’ve had in my life. In such a popular place, you’re bound to get a few bad reviews from people expecting more than is realistic when a restaurant is over-run. I witnessed a v annoyed father of a family sharing his displeasure in having to wait for food (not as long as my brother and I had waited for food as we had ordered much earlier than them) to the hard-working service staff who could do nothing about his imagined slight. They were so polite and accommodating, I couldn’t imagine reacting so well. Fair play to the team.

21/05/2025: Great hotel in Clifden! This should def be categorized as a 4 star. Great accommodations, good restaurant and bar, great location and the service was definitely 5 star! The staff were so accommodating and kind and helped us store our bikes and navigate details on our cycle trip. Special shoutout to Fiona and Shauna and the numerous porters who were fantastic and kind. Would always recommend!

20/05/2025: In the heart of Clifden, nice place to keep fit, “oldly worldly” station house bar with outdoor seating, restaurant & recently renovated hotel near art galleries, designer shopping area & horse riding.

08/05/2025: We had a really wonderful time in Murray's Doonmore. We felt really looked after and 4 of us fit nicely in a family room with a cot. The food was delicious with a good kids menu too and the spaces are all so thought out and cosy. We will be back!

06/05/2025: Grabbed a takeaway cappuchino en-route home 8am to Dublin - deep and intense flavour 👏🏻 … hoped to see a croissant 🥐 👀… cakes a bit much that early but looked amazing 🤩!! Definitely recommend- will be back later in the day 😜 next time !!

Tengo que decir que ella realmente nos alegró la noche. Por favor, dénos las gracias. La comida estaba deliciosa, como de costumbre. Siempre puedes depender de Donnelly para una noche encantadora. 23/04/2025: Lovely Sunday lunch with friends. Lovely menu, great choice on menu of starters and mains and deserts were lovely. Reasonably price too. I am very happy with our visit. I would recommend it to friends and family . Well done a gem in Galway for food .

23/04/2025: Atmosphere: The place is clean and tidy. It does have a large corporate vibe to it. I noticed a place called Leonard’s Catering owns several restaurants in the area. Staff: The staff was very friendly and attentive. They checked on us several times. After we finished it did take a while to get our check. It then took some time to find out we needed to head to the bar to pay with a card. One star off for this. Warm Chicken Caesar Salad: Lettuce tasted fresh, thick slices of bacon were well cooked. The tiny croutons were very crunchy. The dressing was creamy, but still lite. The chicken was well seasoned, and had a charred taste to them. The chicken portion size was generous. Chicken Linguini: The chicken tasted great and the perfect size portion. The linguini was very tasty. The garlic bread tasted fresh and had good flavor. Fisherman’s Pie: Good amount of seafood. The sauce was nice and creamy. The spinach was a great add. There was a large portion of mashed potatoes. It was all finished off oven baked. Very good.

23/04/2025: We had soup of the day, fish and chips, hot goat cheese salad, seafood chowder. Everything was very good and homemade. As it was raining a lot, the restaurant was full but we were served quickly and efficiently by a very nice waitress. Bravo to her.

14/04/2025: Arrived just before menu changed from breakfast. We were handed the breakfast menu and kids were so excited deciding what to get only for a waitress to come over and tell us they're not serving breakfast anymore and handed us the afternoon menu. If this wasn't unprofessional enough we were then told that we had to wait 20 minutes for the chef to get ready for the new menu. I don't think this is the norm and I'm assuming they have a very unorganised chef or one that likes to show everyone they're the boss? Food was lovely as it always is in roots but the experience in this particular one (we normally go to Oranmore or Kilcolgan) left a sour taste and I wouldn't go back to Loughrea in a hurry.

05/04/2025: At first I thought it was a small bit overpriced for Loughrea (versus Galway or Dublin €) but he food, friendliness and service is well worth it and generous, well cooked, well presented servings. Spacious and clean and wonderful light and view.
