02/09/2025: Very typical atmosphere in this small village. We had the chicken burger and it was absolutely perfect!! Hearty and crispy. Highly recommended!

31/08/2025: Really a great place 🏠. I was here with my family (we are an italian family of 7 💀 on tours in Ireland) and arrived at Cong in the evening. With no reservation there was a table for us ✌️. Owner and staff really kind and always smiling. The food was excellent, in particular the meat (I took the tomahawk 🍖). Very good also the desserts. The walls are decorated with pictures of the film "a quiet man".

08/07/2025: A great little coffee house. Absolutely sublime coffee made really well with knowledgeable staff. Their line of coffee to buy is excellent as well a great supporter of Calendar Coffee Roasters.....BTW one of the top roasters in the country. Really nice snacks as well and a lovely location.....Enjoy

04/07/2025: An absolute gem, 5 min away from Lough Corrib, we got a break from the rain in this welcoming place with great coffee and cakes. Our dog was allowed in too and got a treat!

06/07/2025: Not sure why this place has such high reviews. Server was friendly but after selling me on the lamb burger informed me they were sold out. 2 errors on my wife's order. Burger and wings were mediocre, fries poor. 'Traditional' music had as many American country songs as Irish. Overall disappointing first stop in Clifden.

29/06/2025: Excellent pub. The food was very good, and the welcome was very friendly. Great musical atmosphere. We had a wonderful evening.

14/08/2025: My family and I were staying here, so we decided to come here for lunch, and we loved it. The dishes were delicious and the portions were generous. We ordered roast beef, salmon and cod, sea bass, and a crispy chicken burger. Everything was delicious, the staff was charming, and the rooms were spacious and clean.

15/08/2025: We were a group of 9 for lunch on Wednesday. The food was lovely everyone enjoyed it. One thing that did really bother me was when the gentleman took our order. 3 of us asked for water meaning tap water but each time he said still or sparkling. I asked directly for tap water and he made a face and all but said no. Something about it not being good. As far as I'm aware if you buy alcohol at any establishment in Ireland and ask for tap water then you are legally entitled to have it, no excuses. We did buy alcohol by the way. There were 9 of us, money was going to be made. Also parties of 5 or more could not pay separately, I mean come on. That's a complete first for me. We were paying cash, maybe it should be made clear about incurring card cost but otherwise if paying cash then fine. A nice spot in Gort but surprisingly quiet. Please supply the water if asked. You'll still make your money, these things do make a difference especially if there is a chance of people coming back.

19/07/2025: Very cool, cozy place in charming Kinvara. They have some nice vegan options on the menu, and sell nice food products (and socks!) Friendly staff and a nice central location, great for a stop during a trip to explore the area.

13/06/2025: Kinvara ended up being one of my favorite places in Ireland. This was a sweet plant based cafe across from the water. There aren’t TONS of vegan options but it’s so worth it for the environment alone. I got a chickpea toasty, an iced coffee and a vegan scone with jam! There’s a little store inside with lots of goodies and they also have art showcases with media hung up around the store for purchase. It’s across from the most darling fairy shop called “The Secret Garden” which I’d highly recommend. Glad I stumbled upon this gem.

30/08/2025: We recently had our wedding here in Blackthorn restaurant. I would highly recommend this restaurant for their food and service. We had 96 guests seated on our day and I couldn't have asked for a better setting or food. Our guests were raving about the food. The only complaint they had was that there was too much! ( between the horderves and mate night snacks) We have been getting compliments all week, ' the best food I have ever had at a wedding', ' I will go to this restaurant again', ' I will recommend this place to my brother for his wedding', 'what type of meat was that cut again? The meat just fell apart when i touched it'. We opted for this restaurant as opposed to a big function room style wedding exactly for this reason so we are SO happy with the way the day went from start to finish! We worked with the managers Patrick and Fergal who couldn't do enough for us- who helped us in choosing our food and wines and the format of the day. All of the staff were fantastic.They were brilliant to work with and so helpful- the people and staff make a place for us, this is another reason we chose this venue. Nathan, the chef, although I never actually met him, did an amazing job. No ask was too much for the team and the day went perfectly. I would highly recommend dining here, holding an event here or getting married here. You will not be disappointed. A lot of our guests that stayed in the hotel commented on how friendly all of the staff were so I would like to highlight that too. Thank you again!

25/08/2025: Excellent food and terrific service! Fergal was very accommodating, happy and knowledgeable. The scallop starter and dry aged prime rib to share were fantastic! We really enjoyed our evening at Blackthorn!

26/08/2025: Best breakfast we have had in Ireland! Lovely cafe, very welcoming and friendly to both 2 and 4 legged guests. The breakfast was delicious and so big we don’t need to eat for the rest of the day. Really super cafe and highly recommended.

10/06/2025: I got a takeout lunch and was impressed by the friendly helpful server, how quickly it arrived and how delicious it was. It was just over €11. It’s just what I liked, not too much bread and a great balance of protein to vegetables. The soup was full of goodness and flavour (I bet they used a good stock).

18/08/2025: Lunch on the way to Galway...it was definitely worth it. Very good fish, delicious roast beef, and generous portions... Clearly recommended👍👍

16/07/2025: In todays changing world it is so nice to find a constant. This family run pub / shop / restaurant is my constant. Been coming here over 50 years. Locals and tourists alike flock to this precious jewel. Nestled in Claddaghduff with stunning view of Omey strand, it is the heartbeat of Claddaghduff. Food is as it should be, no frills, fresh local produce and great value & amazing taste and flavours. Service is 5 star, with " are ya alight , do u need anything else" said with a geniune smile that warms my heart. I have seen 3 generations of the Sweeney family here and each one making it their own and adding their own sparkle to the establishment. Yet keeping its decor and ambience the same. Open crab sandwich on delicious homemade brown bread will be hard to beat anywhere in the country. So if you are looking to recharge and unwind this is the ideal spot.

16/08/2025: There were nine of us who came for lunch. Food was so, so good. Best sea food chowder ever tasted. Do not miss out on eating here if you are in clonbur.

14/08/2025: We stopped at this pizzeria on our Ireland road trip. After days of Irish food, we luckily stumbled upon Antonio's pizzeria. Wonderful guy and excellent pizza!!

12/08/2025: Ordered on the phone about 45 minutes in advance and picked it up fresh and hot. Lovely fresh base and tomato sauce. Tiramisu was lovely and light. Kind workers. Definitely recommend.
