The best restaurants in Galway

15/09/2025: The price of the pizza was acceptable, but I was not very happy with the service. Although it is a good place for group gatherings and parties, it seems that they are not fully prepared for more than 10 people. The taste of the pizza was acceptable, and I liked the dough, but most of the pizza was burnt, so I only ate half of each slice. However, I must say that the restaurant handled my feedback in a very professional and respectful way. Their response showed that they truly care about their customers, which makes me look forward to visiting again and trying their pizzas once more.

27/08/2025: Excellent Pizzas. Either take them away or enjoy with a lovely Guinness. Good imaginative menu and pizzas are delicious.

07/10/2025: A very busy but well run Supervalu. They have a very large selection of goods and products, you should usually be able to find what you're looking for. The staff here are amazing, some of whom have been working there for 15 to 20+ years. I have always found that the staff are very friendly and helpful, and it seems to start from the top down with both the owners and Clement the general manager leading from the front.

28/10/2025: This restaurant was recommended to us by someone we met in the streets of Clifden. The daily lunch specials are homemade. We had a very good meal, for example, sea bass, squid, and even a steak for around €17. The chef is clearly skilled, and everything is homemade. The service was pleasant and professional. It just lacked a smile.

23/10/2025: We had the duck, the carbonara, and the roast beef. The duck was good, the carbonara better, and the roast beef bland and uninspired. The vegetables with the roast beef were a disappointment, and some of the potatoes were still raw. The service didn't seem to have much enthusiasm for their work; in my opinion, criticism of the food was merely tolerated rather than understood constructively. I wouldn't really recommend returning.

27/10/2025: The food was really good but weird experience, I got made to feel bad when I said I have an intolerance to eggs and asked to have avocado with my salmon instead. I get that it messed with the usual price but most places are understandable when it comes to intolerances.

28/08/2025: Very friendly staff, delicious scones, and good coffee and tea. Nicely decorated and very clean! Highly recommended.

27/08/2025: Was back in beautiful Connemara for my amazing beautiful nanny Mary Fallon s funeral we had the wake here want say thanks very much for the outstanding service and food by all the staff the beef was the best I have ever eaten and the staff were so welcoming and friendly,beautiful location will definitely be going back when I come over to visit my family in Cashel and clifden Connemara 🙏🇮🇪💚🙏

14/10/2024: A fan of breakfasts I heartily recommend having one here. Their main courses get a delicious in my book too. Great service with a smile and when more familiar with you, banter to enjoy. Well worth the time to stop for a break from whatever your days involves. 😊 Monday 14 Oct Stopped for a coffee and ye were closed! 😱 Are you OK? Is all good? 18/09/2024: We stopped for a coffee and ended up having breakfast because the place looked great and the girls who ran it were so friendly. The French omelet with ham and cheese was delicious.

12/08/2025: FLORENCE: I enjoyed a lovely stay in Carrown Tober House with my son and daughter. Mary was very welcoming and so kind, so attentive to the needs of my daughter with special needs. She served us a delicious breakfast. The bedrooms are immaculate and very comfortable. Would highly recommend.

25/07/2025: We spent a wonderful few days in this house and enjoyed the hospitality of Mary and Gerry. The house is very centrally located, just five minutes from the small town of Oughterard. Our room was very comfortable and clean, with a spacious bathroom and bathtub. For breakfast, you can choose from Irish and continental specialties. We would happily recommend this house.

05/09/2025: Stopped of for a cappuccino on my way home from Galway, an absolutely beautiful place to sit and relax, both indoors and outdoors. Not forgetting, Excellent Coffee ☕

01/10/2025: A long day from Dublin was topped off at Raftery's. We wanted "local' , pub, personal. After a Google search, review of menus, and geographic location ,we chose Raftery's. DID NOT DISAPPOINT!!! Greeted upon entry, with the bar full of patrons ,we were seated, provided menus, accommodated with beverages and then had to choose from an abbreviated but fully varied menu. I chose the rack of lamb. My companion opted for the roasted duck. Both were heavenly. Hard to choose which was better, the veggies, potatoes,and accompanying sauce or gravy, or the prime attraction. All were absolutely delish. And portion size was perfect, leaving room for dessert! Generally too full to enjoy we ordered dessert. The apple crunch also did not disappoint...heavenly. If we had the opportunity to stay in the area vs. traveling on, we would definitely revisit. I really don't think Raftery's is one of those "good the first time" experiences. Congratulations! You make it hard to leave the area.

23/09/2025: Good food, good sized portions for a reasonable price. There weren’t many veggie options on the menu but were able to do a veggie stir fry for us which was tasty. Great service and a lovely atmosphere especially with live music. Sabrina Fallon was fantastic!

15/09/2025: Everything was just perfect here. The location is fantastic. The room was small, clean, and had a magnificent view of the bay. The staff was super friendly, and even though breakfast isn't served until 8:30, it was no problem getting it earlier if you had booked the 8:15 ferry. Everyone in the bar was also very friendly, and the food was delicious.
