The best restaurants in Galway

04/11/2024: Lovely setting friendly staff. But Dublin City prices €13.50.fir a zero zero Peroni and a glass of Pino. Did not eat here as we had booked a Restaurant in Clifden for dinner. The setting is amazing and staff very friendly but it annoys me when you get overcharged for drinks .

03/11/2024: I ordered crab claws. Very small and quite tasteless, and I am not talking about the sauce or the recipe style, the meat had very little flavour itself. I am not an expert but they made me think they could have been frozen. Had much better ones, in flavour and size, in many other places around Ireland and for less money. They came with nothing on the plate aside a slice of lemon. Considering all this, 22 euros sounds to me like a total rip off. The crab salad my partner got, one of the specials, at 19 euros, was the same size of a starter you would get anywhere else for much less, and was the most simple in terms of flavours and ingredients. The other thing we ordered was a portion of chips, which looked and tasted like frozen oven chips. A good fast food chain would serve possibly better ones. Considering the many other incredible gastro pubs and fish restaurants Ireland offers everywhere nowadays, this is one I would not recommend. Total tourists trap in my opinion.

22/09/2024: I’m not being dramatic, but when I took my first bite of the mackerel with the salad and that caramelised rhubarb.. my hands praised a higher power in the sky , as if my body somatically reacted to the food, before my brain could even register a response… Yes it was thaaat good! Everything about the food here, from the salad grown out front, to the little crunchy seeds and onions and the dressings and sauces… would not change a thing, try everything, it’s all delicious, fresh, absolute satisfaction on a plate, On all of thee levels physically, mentally, emotionally & spiritually 💜💜💜🌸🌸🌸💚💚💚 the best the best the best!

15/09/2024: A unique and fabulous spot for lunch in Inisbofin! We stopped off during a cycling tour of the island...4 adults, 4 children. The food was phenomenal especially the fish tacos. The hot dogs went down a treat for the children. Highly recommend and so glad we stopped!

23/08/2024: Finns in Milltown is a top quality family run restaurant located on the N17 in the centre of the village. Comprehensive menu with a choice of starters, main dishes and dessert. There is lots of free parking directly across the road at the Heritage Park. Worth a visit if in the area.

12/08/2024: The staff really stand out as being so friendly and efficient, especially when I’m rushing to work they have my order ready in minutes. The coffee is really good and the granola pots are delicious. I love this place! Definitely 5 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

03/11/2024: We have been here numerous times over summer months, the best open crab on brown bread with a tasty pomegranate side salad with a creamy glass of Guinness, overlooking Omey Island. Enjoy lunch and a walk afterwards on the beach at low tide.

19/10/2024: People were a bit stiff in the bar. Coffee was really not good.

21/05/2024: We had such a unique and fun visit to the Burren Nature Sanctuary thanks to Mary and Emilia the famous pig! My friend and I brought along our husbands who really had no interest in doing this pig walk, but we all had a great time with lots of laughs, and a very enjoyable 1 hour nature walk through the property. We can all highly recommend this activity- including our husbands! Mary clearly loves what she does and has a huge heart, caring for these beautiful animals at her sanctuary. Thank you for a great afternoon and we look forward to returning again, next time to enjoy their lovely onsite cafe !

19/05/2024: Amelia the pig and her guide (the co-owner of the sanctuary) were a real treat. The fairy forest tour was silly and fun, and we enjoyed meeting the other animals on the property. We toured the grounds a bit and had a coffee before carrying on to our next stop. Definitely a worthwhile visit!

05/10/2024: Great food, reasonable prices and good portions. Soup was particularly nice. Staff very friendly and cafe was spotlessly clean on our visit.

08/10/2024: Stephen, the "manager", is awful to deal with. Trying to organise a small family function and Stephen has been very scattered with information, doesn't know what's going on. Can't confirm times or menus. I put a provisional hold on a date, (provisional as we were waiting for menus and dining times), gave all my information, he was supposed to call a couple days later, never did. I had to chase him up, when I did, he tells us he is full that day. He never actually provisionally booked us in. This was over a matter of 5days between 3 separate calls. We have had a very bad experience, so much so, we will not be returning to the arches again.

19/10/2024: Have had a few takeaways from Nokshi and always great food and service

14/10/2024: Did a take away from Nokshi and had a very disappointing taste experience. Mushroom Bhaji was very bland and extremely watery. Felt like I was eating boiled mushrooms. Daal tarka was plain and basic and again, bland.

08/11/2024: Spent a memorable family midweek break with our mother who's in her nineties While the hotel was above expectations it's the staff that really made it memorable. Every!! staff member irrespective of their their roll couldn't have been more pleasant and engaging. Have been in countless over the years, but this in terms of it's staff is by far the best I have ever experienced. Try it....you won't be disappointed

07/11/2024: I used this hotel for business this week and everything about this place was top notch. I had 20 guests staying and everyone was delighted with the service. The staff in all areas were friendly and helpful. Rooms were pristine and a fabulous breakfast buffet topped it off with a stunning sea view. I would highly recommend this hotel and their prices are more than competitive. All in all a great experience.
