The best restaurants in Galway

30/09/2025: This place is a good option to stay near Galway, the room is fine, nothing special very simple and require some basic renovation, our stay was pleasant but for what we payed we probably could find something much better and closer to town. The best here is the restaurant and the staff, even if didn't have dinner due it was fully booked the night we stayed, we had breakfast there next day and it was really good. Parking is small but enough, we had to wait for a while to be able to park but is included with no extra cost which is fine.

24/08/2025: I really loved this hotel , it’s very clean, cozy, and offers excellent service. The location is fantastic, and having parking available is a huge plus if you’re traveling by car. I will definitely come back

12/09/2025: The best food around. If you want to eat well, look no further. I've been here several times for lunch. I'm so sorry that my vacation is ending and delivery would be a nightmare. Very nice service and I was even able to chat in my native Czech. I definitely recommend it.

15/08/2025: We were a group of 9 for lunch on Wednesday. The food was lovely everyone enjoyed it. One thing that did really bother me was when the gentleman took our order. 3 of us asked for water meaning tap water but each time he said still or sparkling. I asked directly for tap water and he made a face and all but said no. Something about it not being good. As far as I'm aware if you buy alcohol at any establishment in Ireland and ask for tap water then you are legally entitled to have it, no excuses. We did buy alcohol by the way. There were 9 of us, money was going to be made. Also parties of 5 or more could not pay separately, I mean come on. That's a complete first for me. We were paying cash, maybe it should be made clear about incurring card cost but otherwise if paying cash then fine. A nice spot in Gort but surprisingly quiet. Please supply the water if asked. You'll still make your money, these things do make a difference especially if there is a chance of people coming back.

15/06/2025: Excelente restaurante donde la comida encantadora es servida por el personal de servicio de mesa muy amable, atento y eficiente. La carta, tanto de comida como de bebidas, es completa y el coste es muy competitivo. El comedor es ideal con buenos espacios entre las mesas, los muebles son atractivos, limpios y cada mesa ofrece el espacio requerido para alimentos y bebidas. Un restaurante muy acogedor y siempre un placer cenar en este lugar.

06/05/2025: Visitó este encantador restaurante un sábado por la noche con una fiesta de 6 . Desde el momento en que pisamos este restaurante fue una experiencia increíble. El personal es excelente - servicio rápido, rápido y muy amable. Habíamos compartido los arrancadores y la red y no pudimos encontrar ni un fallo. Personalmente recomendaría encarecidamente el pato. Los tamaños de las porciones son muy generosos y cocinados a la perfección. Recomendaría encarecidamente este restaurante para cualquiera que visite Oranmore.

14/08/2025: We stopped at this pizzeria on our Ireland road trip. After days of Irish food, we luckily stumbled upon Antonio's pizzeria. Wonderful guy and excellent pizza!!

12/08/2025: Ordered on the phone about 45 minutes in advance and picked it up fresh and hot. Lovely fresh base and tomato sauce. Tiramisu was lovely and light. Kind workers. Definitely recommend.

15/08/2025: 10/10. Visiting from Ontario, Canada. Dave was a real gem! His coffee recommendations and execution were spot on. The maple bacon bagel was excellent. Atmosphere and service was top notch. Definitely check this place out!!

20/08/2025: Previous review a bit harsh , food was very nice , the brown bread was really lovely , the staff were welcoming and friendly , and when I might have made a wrong judgement I’ll always apologise, I also should have read the menu correctly , there is absolutely NO reason not to enjoy a lovely breakfast in a warm welcoming atmosphere, which we find is the norm from Mayo people , warm welcoming and DECENT , so for any hungry tourists or locals , pop in to Mc Hugh’s of Cong , they won’t disappoint C

13/09/2025: 4.5/5⭐ Excellent hotel with brilliant friendly caring staff. Cong is an amazing village and a great base to get around from. The breakfast was fantastic. Best porridge I've had and The Irish Breakfast top class. Evening meals were superb too. Guinness was top level. So why only 4.5⭐. Parking. Although, it says parking available, the reality is there are 4 spots. Best just to say, 'parking is very limited'. A few drive arounds and you can find a place. Overall, a great stay. Good people and excellent food.

03/10/2025: Stopped in for a quick dinner, what an awesome place! It's divided into the bar and the dining area which was nice. The food was absolutely delicious! Drinks were great! Staff was awesome. Definitely recommend!

01/08/2025: Hands down the best full Irish breakfast around, nothing comes close, I would love to give 5 stars on that alone, But one Saturday we arrived at 11:45 and was told breakfast is finished, I’m a stickler for detail, so why advertise breakfast until 12? It should read “last orders for breakfast 11:30”, I ended up having to order from the afternoon menu, which was ok. if an establishment has a full Irish breakfast that good it should be an all day menu item..

06/07/2025: Went on a Saturday. Food was good and most of the staff were lovely. One staff member’s attitude let the experience down but Still, I’d recommend it overall.

29/08/2025: I booked the fairy pig walk and planned to propose to my boyfriend as he really loves pigs. Mary was amazing and helped me organize everything. She sent me videos beforehand so that I knew where to go with him, let Emilia the pig deliver the ring to my boyfriend and took pictures and videos for us. We got to do the walk, meet all of the other animals and even got to meet the piglets. Marys and Roys kindness made this day special and we will always remember it with a smile. Thank you for everything!

26/08/2025: From the moment we entered, Mary made us feel so welcome and meet us on the car park. My daughter Emelia is obsessed with pigs so this was her dream come through. Emelia got to meet Emilia the pig. Emilia was very calm on the fairy walk and Mary has her well trained to stop for pictures and videos. We then went to meet Apollo the pig and learnt how to brush and act around the mini pigs. We then went into the mini pigs which were so friendly and loved a belly rub. We meet the other animals and fed them they were all so friendly. Thank you we had the best day ever , ten out of ten ❤️🐷🐽🥰

11/10/2025: In the heart of this small Irish town, I found this beautiful place run by three young, very kind and delightful women. I ate very well, and the prices are much lower than in nearby towns. The selection of beers is as vast as ever, and the dishes are carefully prepared, plentiful, and delicious. It's worth stopping in for lunch or dinner.

01/10/2025: Excellent food and service, the barman was very friendly, the food so fresh and delicious and as a vegetarian I was delighted with my choices

28/09/2025: Stayed there this week and had a lovely time. Rooms are comfortable, food is great with generous portions and the staff are top notch! Anne and Mairéad especially! Would absolutely recommend.
