20/08/2025: Previous review a bit harsh , food was very nice , the brown bread was really lovely , the staff were welcoming and friendly , and when I might have made a wrong judgement I’ll always apologise, I also should have read the menu correctly , there is absolutely NO reason not to enjoy a lovely breakfast in a warm welcoming atmosphere, which we find is the norm from Mayo people , warm welcoming and DECENT , so for any hungry tourists or locals , pop in to Mc Hugh’s of Cong , they won’t disappoint C

21/07/2025: Beautiful hotel. Spacious room, lovely setting. Easy check in. Friendly staff. Super clean, even the tv remote was in a plastic protector!! Used the leisure centre which was relaxing. Evening meal was gorgeous. Lovely spacious areas to sit and relax on all floors. Can not fault our stay.

21/07/2025: Beautiful hotel! The room was comfortable and clean, the staff was welcoming and very hospitable, and the food at the on-site restaurant was great. It is a bit isolated, but if you're staying for a night or two, it's absolutely perfect. Plus, many of the rooms have a balcony - a very nice touch!

03/09/2025: Absolutely amazing little gem. We stopped here on our way through and it was absolutely amazing. Very good value for money, amazing cakes, scones and exquisite crepes. The name tells it all, its small and cosy and has loads of character. The coffee was amazing and the service was absolutely top notch. Would 100% recommend to anyone passing through or staying in Athenry.

25/08/2025: We stopped here on the way back home from Westport and I have to say one of the best cafes I have been to. Coffee massively on point it was epic hot chocolate epic and a special request for an iced chocolate was not problem. The crepes were out of this world I had the streaker wife had the nookie and the kids had the ham and cheese all were amazing and the boss lady and locals in the cafe were so nice and welcoming. Definitely recommend stopping here if you're ever in athenry I know we will be back

18/01/2026: We traveled as a group of eight and found The end keeper to be most accommodating, very service oriented. We had a wonderful Irish breakfast every morning and warm and hospital service the property is very clean The location is central to many sites. One of us plans to return to recommend this wonderful to our friends Joel V

18/01/2026: Mary was the absolute best!! She is very professional yet so friendly and accommodating. She was there when we had any request and fulfilled them without hesitation and with a smile. The breakfasts were consistent and delicious! We will definitely be back as we visit Ireland on a regular basis. Renni D.

09/11/2025: I can’t recommend Cafe Rea enough! The owners are a super friendly and funny couple Gosia & Marcin who make everyone feel welcome the moment they walk in. They serve the best coffee in Ireland — no exaggeration! If there’s anyone who truly understands every step of the coffee journey, from roasting to brewing, it’s definitely Marcin. You can enjoy a perfectly brewed, aromatic coffee on the spot or take home a bag (or two!) of freshly roasted beans. There’s also a lovely outdoor garden where your dogs are always welcome and can enjoy a bowl of water while you relax with your coffee.

05/09/2025: Stopped of for a cappuccino on my way home from Galway, an absolutely beautiful place to sit and relax, both indoors and outdoors. Not forgetting, Excellent Coffee ☕

24/11/2025: We had lunch at this restaurant in Clifden. As soon as we walked in, we felt a strange atmosphere. We weren't exactly welcome. The waiter wasn't very friendly. We had grilled oysters, which were very good. The salmon was also good. We ordered fish and chips. The chips were fresh. However, I think the fish was frozen. A bit of a shame for a restaurant specializing in fish. A mixed experience.

14/01/2026: I ve been to these place a few times, the policy and staff are a bit stuck in the 80’s. If you are not Irish, there is a problem. My friends booked a table to celebrate my birthday, we were given one hour and half to celebrate, cause the table was booked for someone how was coming after us, another time, we went there for an afternoon lunch, we were aloud to stay outside , but again conditioned by time and not to make to much noise, and the other day we dropped by on the way home for some lunch, food all good, we left the money on the tray and went to the car, the student who was working came after us , informing us that we have to pay…would ve been easier if she checked. The 3rd attempt, in the ideea that I was wrong, looks like I wasn’t.
