16/11/2025: Enjoyed a nice evening in from the cold at Ravi’s. We’d already eaten so only got dessert - sticky toffee pudding and cheesecake. Nothing crazy, pints were much better. Thankfully, management removed some loud-mouths disturbing the peace. The music was fun, and the atmosphere was inviting.

29/11/2025: Execellent service, We’ve been here twice now and will return in the future. The staff are extremely down to earth, friendly and accommodating. Food is excellent and reasonably priced. Lovely atmosphere with live music being a regular.

30/09/2025: This place is a good option to stay near Galway, the room is fine, nothing special very simple and require some basic renovation, our stay was pleasant but for what we payed we probably could find something much better and closer to town. The best here is the restaurant and the staff, even if didn't have dinner due it was fully booked the night we stayed, we had breakfast there next day and it was really good. Parking is small but enough, we had to wait for a while to be able to park but is included with no extra cost which is fine.

16/09/2025: Located in the middle of Clifden, this is a pleasant and cozy restaurant with very friendly, polite, and professional staff. The food was delicious and reasonably priced. We were very well taken care of. After dinner, you can go to the hotel pub without going outside, which has a great atmosphere.

20/08/2025: The setting is very pleasant. The service is attentive and very friendly. I recommend the lamb, which is excellent, along with all the accompanying side dishes at no extra charge. In short, very good.

30/11/2025: Great pub, pizza and pints. Well recommend a visit. Carry cash as no card payment in bar.

07/12/2025: Just stopped by for a coffee since the kitchen was closed and ended up having the best Irish coffee of the whole trip. The vibe was so cosy that we actually hesitated about heading late to our hike just to try the food… but we didn’t have the patience 😄

06/11/2025: Everyone at the restaurant was very nice! Food was great too especially the raspberry crumble! We were seated by the cute little window with a beautiful view thanks for seating us there! We loved it! Plus there’s a very adorable friendly cat in roundstone which i think needs to be appreciated here too & please buy the little fur ball some food!

22/10/2025: Favourite spot. Always great experience. Brunch, dinner or night out. Drinks, food, service, always excellent. Staff amazing and very helpful. Nice cosy place with homely feeling. Downstairs party room opened on weekends. Live music and always good time. Recommended.

11/10/2025: In the heart of this small Irish town, I found this beautiful place run by three young, very kind and delightful women. I ate very well, and the prices are much lower than in nearby towns. The selection of beers is as vast as ever, and the dishes are carefully prepared, plentiful, and delicious. It's worth stopping in for lunch or dinner.

07/12/2025: Lovely cosy spot, great choice and friendly staff. We had cooked breakfasts, one was a vegetarian option and it was beautifully cooked. There is also a small selection of deli goods. We were able to bring our small dog inside. Highly recommended.

21/11/2025: Came in here for lunch, ordered a dish with poached eggs on them. Cut into one and it was completely underdone, inedible. When I asked for a fresh poached egg, they didn’t even take my dish back (which had raw egg all over it)- they instead brought me out a replacement in a ramekin. Attaching a photo of the entirely uncooked egg I was served. I didn’t have the energy to tell the waiter again considering the lack-lustre response I got previously. This is a health & safety issue- please train your staff responsibly.

02/11/2025: I like McInerney's, it's a good shop. It's always clean, well-maintained and organised, and has friendly. The staff are friendly and helpful.

27/10/2025: The food was really good but weird experience, I got made to feel bad when I said I have an intolerance to eggs and asked to have avocado with my salmon instead. I get that it messed with the usual price but most places are understandable when it comes to intolerances.

20/08/2025: Previous review a bit harsh , food was very nice , the brown bread was really lovely , the staff were welcoming and friendly , and when I might have made a wrong judgement I’ll always apologise, I also should have read the menu correctly , there is absolutely NO reason not to enjoy a lovely breakfast in a warm welcoming atmosphere, which we find is the norm from Mayo people , warm welcoming and DECENT , so for any hungry tourists or locals , pop in to Mc Hugh’s of Cong , they won’t disappoint C

30/10/2025: We found fantastic food and a cosy room with a sunset view at this place for our one-night visit to Inishbofin during the off season. The ferry arrived a few hours before check-in and they allowed us to drop our bags off early so we could hike around. The bed was extremely comfortable. Adrian couldn’t have been kinder and even connected me with a book that helped me find some details about my ancestry on the island. The bar/restaurant served excellent food and even had a veggie burger for me, which is not something I expect even on the mainland! Don’t hesitate to book here.

28/10/2025: This restaurant was recommended to us by someone we met in the streets of Clifden. The daily lunch specials are homemade. We had a very good meal, for example, sea bass, squid, and even a steak for around €17. The chef is clearly skilled, and everything is homemade. The service was pleasant and professional. It just lacked a smile.

23/10/2025: We had the duck, the carbonara, and the roast beef. The duck was good, the carbonara better, and the roast beef bland and uninspired. The vegetables with the roast beef were a disappointment, and some of the potatoes were still raw. The service didn't seem to have much enthusiasm for their work; in my opinion, criticism of the food was merely tolerated rather than understood constructively. I wouldn't really recommend returning.

15/11/2025: A nightmare experience !!!! Stopped for lunch on way to Galway, after parking & sorting my husband into his wheelchair, only to find 3 steps into hotel . Lovely staff assisted with a ramp, not secured. Hard to push wheelchair up it but people passing by helped. Once inside another nightmare trying to use toilet. Men's toilet impossible to get into. Ladies toilet not much better but 1 very kind staff member assisted by stopping people going into toilets as unable to close toilet door. Towel roll was up high preventing a wheelchair user from reaching it to dry their hands. Food was lovely however the thought of how we were going to get out again on the ramp ruined my lunch. Only for the same staff member holding onto front of wheelchair while I went down it backwards , we would not be able to leave. I was terrified id slip . Its a total disgrace a hotel in a busy town not to have wheelchair access or toilets for wheelchair users. A terrible bad experience for both wheelchair user & companion. How would a wheelchair user on their own be expected to dine here !!!!! A thousand thanks to the lovely lady working there .
