The best restaurants in Galway

03/02/2025: Fabulous hotel with really lovely staff. Unfortunately the food was a disaster. The bar food was terrible - I had to just send my main back twice. Also breakfast was a mess, huge queue, understaffed, wrong food arriving really late. Was a shame but still a lovely hotel.

23/01/2025: A lovely location, it has lovley views, a nice golf course and the train with its carrages make for an interesting visit. You can get a boat tour of the lough behind the hotel and of course it has excellent parking, cheers

06/10/2024: We stayed at Kylemore Pass Hotel for two nights in September, and it was among our favorite accommodations of our entire 3-week visit to Ireland. We arrived on a VERY rainy afternoon, but Stuart quickly checked us in, took our bags to our room, and then had us sit in front of the fire while he made us coffee and tea. It was such a cozy welcome! Our room faced the front of the hotel and had the most wonderful view of the spectacular Connemara scenery. We had a small balcony which was perfect for star-gazing once the rain moved out and the skies cleared. We had breakfast and dinner in the hotel's restaurant both days and were very pleased. It's a small establishment, but the menu offered great variety and our meals were really delicious. Stuart is a wonderful host. He's warm and funny, and available for whatever you might need. We look forward to our next trip to Ireland and will plan a longer stay at Kylemore Pass. Highly recommend!

28/05/2024: Was taking part in the Tour de Conamara and this was a great base, about 20 mins drive from Clifden where the event starts & finishes. Comfortable hotel, breakfasts and evening menu hit the spot 👍

11/01/2025: The local landmark of Dolan’s, everyone knows it in this area. Good stopoff on a journey, it is a decent size shop, more a mini supermarket really. There is quite a range of fast food. Prices are reasonable for a shop of this type, I got some potatoes on special offer It’s now a circle K, I have reported the change to google but they haven’t changed it

30/10/2024: theres a deli,a bakery and bathroom supplies and snacks and fresh ice cream along with a supermacs.i tried the chicken tenders and they were delicious 😋 😋😋😋😋😋😋 definitely coming back again

25/01/2025: I had the opportunity to taste a real Irish stew in this pub. For this alone I recommend if you visit Connemara. However, I cannot give a rating on the atmosphere. We had lunch one afternoon and were the only people in the pub. (Visit in May 2012)

03/01/2025: There is no food which is a good thing, it's a great location to meet, greet and socialise with friends and other guests. It's a very friendly environment. Service is excellent.

18/08/2024: Lots of Cappuccino for the price, AS a tired Hungry vegan this was awesome to stumble upon. There is ist Milk, vegan Muffins, vegan sausage roll and vegan cake! Wonderful service very cute View and Overall delightful. I would visit again! And recommend to other vegans :) and non vegans! Sláinte

25/07/2024: The best lunch I had on the island - nutritious, beautiful and delicious! So nice to have fresh tasty salads. My only criticism is that hot drinks are served in disposable cups, even if you're not taking away. I personally find this unacceptable from a sustainability point of view and for me it also ruins the quality of the drink.

21/02/2025: The doner kebab is a full meal in itself! Really packed and sofa king tasty. Wife had a ham cheese pizza, said it was wonderful and nicest freshest pizza she ate in ages. Great value for money overall.

23/03/2025: We stayed here for 2 nights for a wedding. Nice, well maintained hotel with great attentive staff who were always happy to help and answered the phone very quickly. Leisure facilities were good, clean and looked after, you need to wear a swim hat but these can be loaned from leisure reception or brought for 2.50 euro. Only very minor gripes were that the shower in the room was a bit temperamental with the hot and cold and it wasn't that powerful. Also breakfast was pretty average, did the job but nothing to write home about. If it wasn't for these two points then it would have been 5 stars.

19/03/2025: Reception staff very friendly, room was basic but lovely clean plenty towels and tea/coffee biscuits. We booked a time for dinner as we were told it be safer we arrived down and seated very quickly, but it went down hill after that the waiting to order and for food to come was very slow. Very slow to clear table i had bring up glasses myself as i was afraid the child would break one. Bar staff had no interest in being there they were so slow to take order was left waiting at least 5/6 minutes every time one off us went up to order and it wasnt busy 2/3 sitting at bar. From a publican to another they need more training in dealing with customers or new staff hired that want to do the job. Pool facilities were lovely. Overall it was a lovely stay just need new bar staff.

13/08/2024: Lovely place, with a great buzz. People of all ages and very busy. They have live music sometimes that can be really good and heated seats in outside area.

08/07/2024: I had lunch here on a Sunday afternoon with three teenagers and a young adult. Service was very friendly and competent. We all enjoyed our meals and our vegetarian was very pleased with her Halloumi burger. Only disappointment was the lack of vinegar to accompany the really excellent chips.
