Garvey's SuperValu Castleisland
Castleisland
16/08/2026: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ The best supermarket in the area with excellent service and products!
This SuperValu in Castleisland is a real reference for shopping, both for residents of the town and for those passing through Kerry.
Top quality fresh produce: The butcher counter and deli are spectacular, with impeccable service and quality cuts.
Traditional bakery: The bakery section offers bread and pastry options made on the same day (scratch bakery), a real luxury.
Convenience and petrol service: It has a very large car park and an integrated petrol station with very good prices, ideal for solving everything in one stop.
Customer service: The staff are always very friendly, attentive and decisive, making the shopping experience quick and pleasant.
Totally recommended if you are looking for local products, variety and a 10 treatment!

Tig Áine
01/09/2026: A very nice restaurant with very friendly waitresses. The service was quite quick, the dishes simple but very good value for money. I really liked the homemade bread and the trout was good quality. Perhaps a shame that the sandwiches are served with crisps, but at that price it's acceptable! The vegetable soup was good.
We were there during a podcast recording in Irish; it was nice to see all those people. They sell beautiful and inexpensive cards (€3). Great for supporting artists!
25/08/2026: wow some of the best food ever with amazing views. crab special was lifechanging

Sol y Sombra
Killorglin
05/08/2026: A truly magical wedding venue for couples looking for a more intimate and personalised wedding.
Our wedding at 10 Bridge Street in Killorglin was absolutely remarkable, and we could not be happier with how our special day turned out thanks to all the team at 10 Bridge Street.
From the moment we began planning, Cliodhna provided us with local vendor contacts, introduced us to Paul and Erwin from The Kingston Townhouse for accommodation and Terry from Shades of bloom, a local florist in Kilorglin for our beautiful flower column, who I should also mention provided outstanding customer service and professionalism throughout the entire process.
The flexibility of the venue allowed us to create a day that truly suited who we are and suited our budget. Cliodhna and her team gave us complete freedom over the atmosphere and the music, which allowed us to soundtrack our celebration exactly the way we wanted. We decided against live ceremony music and played our own song choices over the PA system which worked flawlessly and allowed us to put the money we saved towards a live band and DJ.
The level of care extended to every single one of our guests, particularly those with dietary restrictions. We received glowing feedback from our celiac guests, who mentioned that the staff went completely above and beyond to ensure they were safely and exceptionally well looked after. Knowing that our loved ones felt so safe and cared for regarding their food meant the world to us and speaks volumes about the team's attentiveness and professionalism.
All our guests raved about the food choices and how beautiful the food was. So good myself and my husband had a second helping of the starters, we had tried both at the menu tasting and could not decide which one we wanted more, the brie or the black pudding Bon Bon’s, And they were too good to share between us!
The location in Killorglin also proved to be the perfect base for our timeline. Because the team was so accommodating and organized, we were able to get our dream photos taken on the Dingle Peninsula before the ceremony, which is just under an hour away. Being able to capture those stunning coastal backdrops and still return for an intimate, tailored celebration at 10 Bridge Street made our wedding day everything we had ever hoped for.
Special mention to Maura’s Cottage flowers, The Celebrants way Cara Fuller, Shane Turner Photography, Wedding Stories by Maurice, SiogCakes and Pristine Classics Wedding car and Ice Cream bike who all brought something special to the day.
10 Bridge Street gave us a truly unforgettable, once-in-a-lifetime wedding, and we genuinely cannot recommend them enough.
15/06/2026: To anybody that is planning a wedding don't look any further than 10 bridge street. I'm 58 year's old and been to quite a few weddings in my life but none of them can compare to bridge street, absolutely brilliant experience from start to finish.my daughter got married here on the June bank holiday, right from the start while clionadh was discussing options for them totally relaxing experience nothing is a problem, very budget friendly, beautiful building stained glass windows are gorgeous, acoustics are astounding,a far superior venue than some of the more overpriced popular spots, food was to die for every plate went back cleaned, the pint's 10 out of 10 clionadh, Debbie, eurena and the rest of the staff were fantastic and I'll say it again nothing was a problem if you wanted more food you got it no questions about it they couldn't be more helpful,I myself if I could give a 10! Star rating I'd do it all day long perfection some of the expensive venues could learn an awful lot from clionadh you will have no regrets if you decide to book your wedding day here at bridge street I can honestly say not being biased since it was my daughter that it was the best wedding venue that I've ever been at and everyone else was of the same opinion, so thanks for the great day clionadh and the gang and best wishes for the future from a very happy dad ,Mick from cork

O'Carroll's Cove
15/08/2026: Perfectly situated on the Ring of Kerry right by the beach, this restaurant offers spectacular views of the sea and the gorgeous Irish coast.
We dropped in for dinner and had a fantastic experience—the food was excellent, the service was flawless, and the staff were incredibly welcoming.
It easily earns its titles as the Best Pub in Ireland 2025 and Best Seafood Restaurant 2026.
Highly recommended!
11/08/2026: Not quite as welcoming as I was expecting!! A couple of coffees; neither of which was hot. Toilets...female has one tap not working, male...no tap working in the disabled and no soap anyway or in the main toilet.

The Mad Monk by Quinlans
Killarney
13/09/2026: My husband and I were visiting Killarney from Boston, and saw the Mad Monk and their fabulous menu while walking around the city. Could not get a reservation for our first night, but got one for the second night. Our waiter Sean was wonderful. We split the local oysters and each had the sea bass with the squid ink risotto. This was an outstanding dish. We eat a lot of fish at home, and this was a dish to remember. The table next to us also ordered it on our recommendation. We had cocktails, wine with dinner. The entree and a lovely side salad. If you are a fish/ seafood lover, make sure to eat at the Mad Monk while in Killarney!
13/09/2026: This review is based on my experience of the place, service and food served.
It was fully booked so we had to sit outside so the atmosphere of the restaurant is not judged here. The waitress must have been relatively new. She forgot the main course for two people in the party and I never got the spoon I asked for.
I had oysters as a starter and halibut as a main course. The oysters were super fresh and the halibut was amazing and it was a really big portion too, really really good!

Driftwood Surf Cafe
19/07/2026: We recently visited this restaurant after looking forward to it for quite some time, so it was disappointing to leave feeling underwhelmed.
The biggest issue was the service. We felt forgotten about for much of the evening, waiting almost half an hour before anyone took our food and drink order. Once our order was taken, the staff we dealt with were friendly and the service itself was good, but the long waits really impacted our experience. At the end of the meal, we also waited so long to pay that we eventually had to leave the money for our bill on the table as no one came to collect it.
The food was a mix of highs and lows. Some dishes were excellent and clearly well prepared, but other parts of the meal didn't meet our expectations. The mashed potato was quite bland, and some of the food was served only lukewarm rather than hot.
I'm not usually one to leave negative reviews, but we had been really excited to visit and spent a significant amount of money on the meal. For the price, we expected a more attentive level of service and greater consistency with the food. I hope this feedback is taken constructively, as the restaurant clearly has potential, but our experience unfortunately didn't live up to the expectations.
09/07/2026: Highly recommended place. Stunning location with views to the sea and Skellig Islands. The food will not disappoint you! Very friendly staff Definitely we’ll be back
