The best restaurants in Kerry

23/02/2025: This is not the first time I have visited this pub, yesterday my husband and I also went for a meal, but I was disappointed with the service. The woman with black hair served us, she was very rude and had a bad attitude, this woman needs to learn some service etiquette, when paying the bill she asked us to leave a tip, in my opinion it is up to us to decide whether to leave one or not. I will never go back here again, it was unpleasant

07/03/2025: The place seemed nice, but they gently kicked us out because we only wanted to have tea and a smoothie... (even though the place was half empty)

21/02/2025: We went there over christmas, 3 adults and my 2 toddlers. We were seated at the booth. After 10 minutes of waiting we went up to ask for some water and menus and were told “we will get to you when we get to you”. After 5 minutes they brought the menus and we ordered 2 pastas and a pizza. They took our order and left, a minute later he returned and said we have to order more as we are taking a booth so we need to order more, i then replied that we were not informed nor was there any display of any “minimum order quantity “ policy for this restaurant (where ive eaten several times previously). The waiter then replied “did you ask?”! I then replied that this may be a policy of yours but this is something that 1. Should be communicated to us upon arrival or displayed in the menu or wall or somewhere and 2. This could have been told to us by the waiter in a more relaxed manner, which we could take onboard and maybe decide to order further,We were shocked with this reply and his general demeanour and behaviour with us was appalling. My kids 3+5 yrs were cranky and hungry so i told him that this was not the norm , customers arent supposed to ask for restaurant policy. At which point he asked us to leave. We obliged with a bitter taste in our mouth at the horrible service we had just received.

23/02/2025: I am rating the viewing and not the cafe since we did not stop in there. Nice view both with good and bad weather.

20/02/2025: Lovely hotel near Tralee. The grounds are lovely and situated very close to the nearby Ballyseedy Woods. The staff are always lovely and polite. The falafel burger and the cumin mayo are divine! There isn't a huge vegetarian selection here but I love the mayo and burger so much it's my go to every time! Kid friendly. Lovely decor and atmosphere. I definitely recommend.

09/03/2025: Proper chips for takeaway for a special treat or birthday but chips once a bit undercooked and al dente so a bit flaccid and not crispy. Chicken burger delicious. Takeaway roast dinner options a great option especially for older family members.

22/02/2025: We had a lovely meal here while staying at the hotel. Our meal was delicious, and the service was friendly and fast. As you can see from the photos, I really enjoyed the pork ribs :-)

10/02/2025: Había nueve personas en total en nuestro grupo, estábamos celebrando un cumpleaños y acabamos de ser decepcionados por otro restaurante, así que pensamos en probar Caseys por si nos podían apretar. Sucedió que inmediatamente comenzaron a prepararnos un área, ¡lo cual ya era una buena señal! La comida era excelente (recomendaría encarecidamente las costillas! ) , todo salió rápido y estaba caliente. Me gustaría aprovechar la oportunidad para mencionar también a nuestro servidor Johnny, que era absolutamente excelente, muy atento y amable. Nos contó los especiales, sabía exactamente lo que era, y no estaba en el menú, e incluso volvió con una lista de tés especializados para varios miembros de nuestro grupo, una estrella absoluta, que tuvo la paciencia de un santo! Gracias Caseys por una velada maravillosa. 👍

17/03/2025: I recommend Kate Kearney's cottage went in for a meal on a busy Sunday evening as a crowd of 20 people, with mo booking, they were able to accommodate everyone, service was excellent, taff friendly, efficient and very inviting, they had a quick turn around of food to table, delicious and excellent quality, well presented, a good menu for both vegetarian and a la carte. Price excellent overall!

24/03/2025: I would highly recommend O’Carolls cakes for your wedding cake. Gary and the team were wonderful to work with for our wedding day. The cake looker beautiful and it was also really tasty. Thank you!

11/01/2025: Gary made our wedding cake for us in December. The wedding cake was absolutely stunning! Not only was it beautifully designed, but it tasted incredible too. We couldn't have asked for a better cake to mark such an important occasion—highly recommend! Thanks again, Emma and Mikey.

22/11/2024: I decided to try the Kingdom 1995 restaurant in Killorglin on one of my visits to Kerry a few weeks ago, I was unfortunately underwhelmed by the entire experience. The decor was beautiful. The soup I ordered had a nice flavour but was counterbalanced by too much stock or salt. The bread although warm, was burnt on the crust. The Wagyu beef Blade known for its high fat content, whilst had a buttery taste, didn’t sit well in my stomach & I felt ill.. The dessert I ordered was lovely though. Hard to believe for a menu so expensive that water doesn’t come free with your meal. This is something you pay extra for despite all the rain they have in Kerry! The owner herself has a somewhat sweet and sour personality & glimmers of this was seen during the entire experience from the booking to leaving the restaurant. Would I come back or recommend it? No, unfortunately not.

17/10/2024: The reviews are slightly exaggerated; so many glowing reviews are somewhat questionable. The food was decent, but definitely not Michelin quality. We had to wait half an hour, while 2 tables were occupied, and it remained fairly empty during our stay. I don't think Suzi was there😂

01/01/2025: Muchas veces he comido aquí, siempre un restaurante ocupado porque el pescado suele ser de primera calidad y las porciones muy generosas. Pero una visita reciente allí y fue muy diferente. Porciones más pequeñas y esa calidad que solía estar allí faltaba por lo que estábamos muy decepcionados por eso. Más aún cuando se consideran los precios en el menú.

04/11/2024: What makes a great hotel? Arbutus has it all!! The location cannot be beat- right in the heart of Killarney near all the shopping, pubs and restaurants. The room was clean (squeaky clean), with excellent shower pressure, wash clothes (not always customary in Ireland) and the most comfy bed and pillows- was the best sleeps of our trip! The staff was oh so friendly and by happenstance we met the 3rd generation owners who were happy to chat about the details of their establishment with us (I love history!). The breakfast each morning was fabulous and the attached bar (Buckley's) was perfect for a late night drink and some Irish music! I would go back to the Arbutus in a heart beat!!

14/02/2025: What a beautiful hotel, so friendly and welcoming. Very spacious rooms, comfy beds, great selection at breakfast, every staff member had a smile on their face and was so helpful. An absolutely perfect stay, thank you for this lovely experience. ❤️

13/02/2025: I got a voucher for the spa in the rose hotel. I had a wonderful experience, they have great offers. I got a back massage off siobhan who was brilliant. I couldn’t recommend more, had a lovely experience

03/03/2025: Just back from spending a weekend here for my partners birthday. If I could give more than 5 stars I would. From the moment we entered to the moment we left we enjoyed every bit of it. We got a complimentary room upgrade on check-in. A lovely special touch in the room with a birthday card and cookies for my partners birthday. Huge room with robes and slippers and a beautiful view of the Kerry mountains. Only 5 mins by car to the town with a cheap taxi service to/from. The spa was amazing and the Thai masseuse was the best I experienced. The breakfast had such a wide variety and was so delicious. We didn’t eat in the bar or restaurant so can’t comment on that but really can’t wait to go back again.

24/02/2025: Really nice hotel, awesome breakfast but poor menu. Drinks on 3 or 4 pages and food on only 1. Food what I had was good but would like to see more kind of food to choose from. Same with a desserts.
