Spillane's
27/09/2024: Spillane's bar is a traditional Irish restaurant located in Castle Gregory, a little town in Dingle Peninsula, in Western Ireland. We came here to have dinner and it was an excellent choice. We could taste homemade food: a soup of the day as the first dish, grilled monkfish and fish with sauce as the main dish, and a crumble as dessert. All was excellent! Also, we drank a Kilkenny beer. Very recommendable!
24/09/2024: This place has gone seriously downhill. We’ve been visiting Spillanes for years and it has usually been quite good. Unfortunately our last two visits were very disappointing.
Quality of the food has really disimproved. Chowder was lukewarm and tasteless. Sent back 3 bowls which they proceeded to microwave one by one resulting in us all eating at different stages. Toasted sandwich was poor also.
We were charged for a pint of Guinness that we didn’t get but they quickly refunded that. Service was mediocre but the food let the place down significantly.
I’d be slow to return.

Rosspoint
Glenbeigh
14/09/2024: We had a delicious meal at Rosspoint, beautifully situated by the sea. After dinner the live music started. There was a lot of couples dancing. I was still learning it and we were encouraged by the other fantastic dancers to join in. We had a very pleasant evening.
14/09/2024: This is not for the restaurant- it’s for the coffee shop and sauna. We were brought fresh baked scones that were super tasty and had them with really nice lattes. I wish I got a picture of those- they were so cute with chocolate powder sprinkled on top. My husband did the sauna and really enjoyed it and the cold water tub. I think the best part was the friendly staff. They really care about the place and we felt like family!

Kayne's Bar
Killarney
29/10/2024: One of the quality restaurants in Killarney. The food was delicious and well presented but we wait a bit much than we expected for the drinks to come.
23/10/2024: Good spot for a bite to eat but a little on the expensive side

Emilie's
Glenbeigh
19/10/2024: Stopped in at 8pm. The restaurant was already packed. But the friendly staff offered to make a last pizza for takeaway and brought it out to the car. Had a lovely margarita pizza in the car.
19/10/2024: Looks like there's a new pizza team at Emilie's! The staff were incredibly friendly, and the pizza was absolutely delicious—much crispier than what we had during the summer. We loved it so much that we'll definitely be back next Friday.

QC's
Cahirciveen
22/07/2024: What a fantastic place. The cleanliness, helpfulness, uniqueness, calmness - all excellent - not to mention the food and great way to have breakfast in your room. Great place to explore the area with so much to do and see in South Kerry.
19/07/2024: This place is a gem in the middle of Cahershiveen. Worth a trip just to treat yourself to a meal here. The ambience is beautifully thought out. The fish and meat and veg here is some of the best on this island and it is cooked by a team that treat it with respect and give you plates of food you will enjoy from start to finish.

Tatler Jack
Killarney
05/11/2024: Cozy sports pub (14 screens!), fun and live music every evening, beautiful modern rooms (don't count on a nice view) and excellent breakfast. The location is fantastic.
03/11/2024: This was the Denny's of Ireland. Subpar food, mediocre service, and zero ambience. We were lulled in by the promise of live music but it was just a young man singing John Denver and Garth Brooks songs.

The Lime Tree
Kenmare
02/11/2024: We had dinner in the Lime Tree last Saturday.. This was our first time here and it’s most definitely won’t be our last ! We’ve already planned our next visit ! I have to say it was one of the best meals we’ve had in a long time .. and definitely the best restaurant we’ve been to when visiting Kenmare ..
The scallops were the best I’ve ever had ! The hake was perfection .. My husband had the chowder & steak .. The wine was also excellent.. the staff are so professional and so so friendly & helpful .. each & every one of them .. Michael the owner & chef goes around chatting to everyone after service is over .. He’s a lovely friendly person and what a talented chef ! the meal was better than some we’ve had in michelin star restaurants ..
thanks for an amazing dinner

Meadowlands Hotel
Tralee
08/11/2024: The Meadowlands Hotel in Tralee, Ireland is a family-run four-star hotel characterized by its friendly atmosphere and elegant rooms. It is located approximately one kilometer from the city center, providing a quiet location with good access to local attractions.
Our personal experience
Our daughter Paula did a three-month internship at the Meadowlands Hotel. During this time we visited them and stayed at the hotel ourselves. We loved the Irish charm of the hotel, including the cozy restaurant where locals also meet. We particularly appreciated that the hotel offered an internship for a trainee from Switzerland. Paula was lovingly integrated into the team and was able to learn a lot.
We have fond memories of our stay and would happily stay there again at any time. The surroundings are beautiful and have the uniqueness you want.
Facilities and service
The hotel's individually designed rooms offer amenities such as air conditioning, flat-screen TVs and free Wi-Fi. The rooms are not only well equipped but also very comfortable. The on-site restaurant and bar uses local ingredients, including fresh Dingle fish daily. Other amenities include free parking, room service, and a 24-hour business center, particularly useful for business travelers.
Prices
Room prices vary depending on the season and category and are usually between €96 and €276 per night. The hotel therefore offers suitable options for different budgets.
Conclusion
Combining traditional charm with modern amenities, the Meadowlands Hotel offers an excellent choice for travelers wanting to explore Tralee and the surrounding attractions. The hotel is particularly recommended for those who value friendly service and a relaxed atmosphere.
We would recommend it to anyone looking for an authentic Irish experience.

Bunkers
Killorglin
26/10/2024: I had the baked Hake, which was a very generous portion with a lovely creamy sauce. I would have to say that it was slightly dry and so were the mashed potatoes, but overall, very good food.
Stove was burning bright, and there was a good-natured group beside us. So the atmosphere was jolly and warm.
21/10/2024: The best leek and potato soup I’ve ever had. Found this place when we were driving and stopped in for a quick bite and was surprised by the soup. The toasty was average but the experience was made memorable by the delicious soup.

RusticBoowa
Tralee
26/10/2024: The cauliflower soup is delicious!! I recommend visiting here
29/09/2024: I have had the pleasure of eating in Rustic Boowa on a number of occasions, in Tralee and in Ardfert. The food is absolutely gorgeous. I have had a variety of the foods they serve, to name a few - the baked porridge, the breakfast muffins, the scones , the quiche, the salads, the boowas, carrot cake and my husbands absolute favourite 'the rafaello cake'. We have never been disappointed. The coffee that is served is excellent, flavoursome and very satisfying. Staff are friendly and efficient and always make you feel welcome and are very appreciative of your custom. A big thank you to Grace who served us on many occasions in Ardfert.
