23/08/2026: So glad we tried this place. Excellent service and friendly staff. They don’t do taste samples but they don’t need to. You can’t go wrong with any of their unique flavors.

21/05/2026: The hotel is a wonderful place, historic. The food they offer is really good. So far the good things. I asked for a room with sea view and got the information that it will have view. Well. See a picture from my window. I didn't mean that! The rooms are expectable old. Nothing to complain here. But there is no sound isolation. We were able to here everything from the next room. TV, water tap, shower, toilet. Regarding the service. There were three women in service two younger ones, who walk through the restaurant looking to the ground, barely seeing guests contact wishes for drinks or coffee in the morning. The 3rd women, a stronger one, was amazing. She definitely loves her job. It was fun talking with her and getting her recommendations for the order was Gold. Sorry for this review.

14/05/2026: We stayed two nights as a family. The hotel is superb, retaining its original charm, with very large, comfortable, and clean rooms. The restaurant is the only one open and offers good quality food. The staff is friendly. We highly recommend it.

10/07/2026: Ballyseede is a great option if you want a castle stay while you are in Ireland. Amazing rooms, fantastic breakfast, and great service. Be sure to find the Irish wolfhounds that live on the premises.

07/07/2026: Reception was not friendly, but was efficient. Stayed in The Lodge, room is comfortable, but TV stations limited. Mainly RTE, we could not watch Wimbledon. Dinner and breakfast was excellent, with very good service.

01/09/2026: We landed in Seán Óg’s Bar in Tralee for drinks after dinner at Kirby’s Brogue Inn, and the place was heaving in the best possible way. The two barmen were like a double act, joking away with each other while serving a customer every few seconds. They work damn hard and still had time to be friendly with everyone who came to the bar. The live music was fabulous and the whole room had that busy, bustling atmosphere you can’t manufacture. An amazing evening, and the first place we’d head for a pint and live music next time we’re in Tralee.

22/09/2026: Nasty. The burger was cremated and I found a thick black hair inside. They tried their best not to give me a refund and told me “no one in the kitchen has long hair”. Not sure if they realise hair doesn’t have to be long to get into food.

07/09/2026: Today we dined at this excellent restaurant and had a divine meal. The owner is extremely attentive and friendly, the food arrived quickly, and they even provided a pitcher of water, so theoretically, we didn't need to order anything to drink. We both had the pepperoni calzone, and I've never eaten such a delicious one. Hats off to them! If we ever come back to this area, we'll only eat here. 100% recommendation! P.S.: The tiramisu is outstanding!

05/10/2026: Sad how this turned out cuz it could have been great. We stayed in the rooms for 2 nights. The location is great; but the bedding in the family room smelt like a teenage boys bedroom… The room was spotless besides the bedding, like the comforter in the one bed wasn’t washed in months… The staff well that’s another story. The lads at the bar especially the young kid with the curly hair with a jeep, he’s so kind and genuinely cares about ppl. The female manager is miserable. So rude. And def doesn’t care for her customers… an older couple was having troubles with their room, we didn’t know them and she painted us with the same brush! They left the keys to everyone’s room just In the door and the older American lady was worried about it… she had a little hissy fit, miserable said, (with major inconvenience) I’ll go look, we have no crime here… (well honey, u are welcome strangers from around the world to share there u might not have crime in ur community but doesn’t mean one of the strangers staying in one of the rooms isn’t going to investigate) my only concern was that one of the staff members would get in trouble for leaving them there…) Anyway, it was a great stay we would stay again but certainly wouldn’t give her the time of day. Shame on her for being in hospitality and being so rude to your customer, we’re ur bread and butter honey! The room had the tiniest tv in the world lol! Also the staff are clueless when it comes to the accommodations.. no one knew anything, also didn’t know when management would be in… The food was bloody awful! And def didn’t eat there again. Once was enough… The bay is beautiful!

03/07/2026: I regularly go there as I like their coffee. Salads are amazing and they do small bowls. A good bit of bar space to sit when alone and a lovely terrace when the sun is out.

09/05/2026: Wonderful staff, extremely helpful and friendly. That includes at reception, in the restaurant, at breakfast -- everyone. Beautiful, ornate ground floor with period decorations and objects to look at. Tasty dinner in the restaurant, and live music every night. But the room itself needed work. The heating was loud (it had an overhead unit with noisy vents), and one of the lights was broken. The shower was developing mold.
