04/08/2025: Everytime I get a takeaway from King kebab the man serving is very nice .very chatty . Sorry don't know his name. Food is excellent. Especially the butternut curry. My favourite.

30/07/2025: New to Castleisland this last 10 years, this is a great Indian Restaurant. The guy on counter appreciates the customer who wants a stronger curry but the menu caters to all tastes. Visitors from The big smoke approved too!

22/08/2025: Lots of the menu is gluten free. Dined there Thursday and went back again tonight because it was that good. We had the Pad Thai and satay chicken skewers both times, absolutely delicious. The service and food were outstanding. Give them a try if you are in Killarney, you'll love it.

04/08/2025: The lamb we had here last night was absolutely delicious.. fork tender and falling off the bone! One of the best meals we have had in Ireland to date! The vegetables are steamed/blanched and devoid of any seasoning or flavour. The restaurant was busy and the three waitresses were run off their feet. Service nonetheless was quick.

04/08/2025: Our last visit here was in 2023 and at that point we had been to this restaurant on multiple different occasions. The staff were always friendly and the food was good. However, we went a few days ago and noticed it was extremely quiet, which was unusual as every other time it had always been packed. We went in anyway and immediately when we got seated the staff that we had serving us were extremely stand offish for no reason. We brushed this off as a once off but throughout our time there this stand-offish behaviour continued. They had no problem complaining about customers who had just paid and left because they had a small complaint about their food. Immediately soured our experience as we thought it was very unprofessional to give out about customers IN FRONT of the other customers who were already there. At that point we had ordered so we stayed. The food was only ok. It's obvious that between this visit and our last visit in 2023 something changed as not only had the staff changed in attitude but the atmosphere and quality of food had also changed. We will not be coming back and advise other people to stay away.

10/08/2025: Always a good stop on way to Killarney. Not been over to Ireland for a few years and was pleased that Avoca does not appear to have suffered the post covid fate other similar tourist places. Still great food at great value upstairs and the store still has plenty to offer. Definitely worth a stop if you are out that way.

14/08/2025: Had dinner here last night with my wife. She had the risotto and I had the mackerel starters they were both superb. We both had hake for our main course with mussels in a creamy sauce. It came with new potatoes and we supplemented with fries coated in truffles and Parmesan. I commented that I knew every song on the playlist and the staff gave me a copy of it! Great and lovely atmosphere for a relatively small place. Love the idea of 2 sittings. Well worth a pilgrimage! Dessert was great too! Milseán from Milesian! I look forward to doing that again. Next time my wife will be driving!

09/08/2025: Wife and I waited for 30 minutes for a server to take our order. We gave up in the end and just walked out. This was the only blemish on our otherwise fantasric trip to Killarney. The service at literally every other establishment we ate at was stellar.

03/08/2025: We had an excellent experience here. The staff is very friendly and attentive, and the food is delicious—made with love, you can tell the dishes are perfected and very well-prepared. For the price, we expected much less! The only thing I would point out is that the menu doesn't have an adequate description of ingredients. They list the ingredients that usually cause allergies, and then some. I ordered a burrito (which was delicious, it must be said), and the menu didn't say it had tomato or rice, but it did. As this happens sometimes, I asked about tomato, which I'm allergic to, and they told me it didn't have any, but then the burrito did have it. It's not a big deal because I'm only slightly allergic, but that's all. They describe the ingredients, but not all of them.

20/07/2025: This is the place if you want to find a true community experience, as well as the best traditional music anywhere! It is lively and fun, and the Guinness is the BEST! The owners really care about everyone who comes in and it shows!

10/08/2025: This is our first time at this hotel and we are thrilled. The room is large, cozy, clean, and has a very comfortable bed, a very large bathroom, and a coffee bar. Last night's meal was the best we've ever had in Ireland. I had Caesar salad and breaded chicken breast in peppercorn sauce with mashed potatoes and vegetables in a creamy sauce. The staff is super friendly and quick. The restaurant was extremely busy, and our food was served immediately. When our coach arrived, several young men were already standing at the door to carry our suitcases to the room. Our guests were extremely happy that there is no elevator. However, it is only one floor high. The hotel bar is very cozy and offered live music. Breakfast is partly buffet-style, and hot meals must be ordered. I think that's great because it means only what is needed is cooked, and the hotel wastes less food. We feel completely at home here and are looking forward to staying several nights.

06/08/2025: Recently enjoyed a 2 night stay at The Grand Hotel inTralee.From the moment we arrived could not have had a better experience. On arrivel we were greater by Dick Boyle the owner what a Gentleman. Once inside what a lovely atmosphere warm and welcoming. Decor perfect,Food top class. All the staff were so friendly,Professional and always there to help. Congratulations to all the team such high standards throughout the Hotel.

31/05/2025: You absolutely have to stop by the Forge if you are in the area or passing through. My husband got the chicken pesto sandwich and I got the chicken caesar salad sandwich. Both were absolutely amazing packed with meat and flavor. I’m going to be thinking about this meal even after we travel back home. We also got coffees and a scone and those were great as well. On top of all of that, the hospitality was great and everyone was welcoming. We will be recommending this spot to anyone we know visiting the area!

14/07/2025: The food was okay and more than filled us up. We only had to wait a bit for dessert. That was probably because three different waiters served us and none of them really felt responsible. We'd be happy to go back.
