The best restaurants in Kerry

18/03/2025: My family and I stayed in The Gleneagle on Patrick’s weekend for a family occasion. Overall the whole experience was lovely. However, we had dinner in Fiadh on Saturday night and my Dad regrettably found a small piece of glass in his water, thankfully before he consumed it. I immediately informed a supervisor but she didn’t even come over to the table to apologise, only told a more senior restaurant manager who didn’t come over immediately either. I decided to go up for a second time to speak with someone as we all, understandably, felt a little uneasy about the situation and were awaiting more food. That, and I was surprised no one had come over still to address the table. I ended up speaking with the manager and he was apologetic but that was about it. At the end of our meal the same manager finally came over and offered to comp a bottle of wine and two meals, which was appreciated. However, my Dad’s meal wasn’t the one comped, nor did the manager even address him or ask anything further about the situation. The communication overall, given that we found glass in our meal, was far below what I expected of a four star hotel and left us all rather disappointed, as we all don’t get together too often. The rest of our experience was really great. However I’d be remiss not to mention this story to anyone thinking of staying here as the service and communication regarding the whole situation was simply that poor.

14/02/2025: Popped in while on business.. beautiful food along with great "swing" music.. met the owner who cooks the food.. can highly recommend to anyone visiting.. set back off the road look for the signs and enjoy the hospitality and welcome. Brilliant.. David

11/11/2024: A lovely surprise Under stated and such a simple place. It’s not grand , but the welcome is warming. A bar with some simple food. Deep fried Scallops !!, A cold Fish platter , Smoked Salmon ,Poached. Salmon , Crab Meat and a hand full of mussels ,Plus a dip and Wheaten Bread with a Salad Garnish. Refreshing and simple . Bowls of Mussels in a lovely stock. Definitely , different ,and they do accommodation .

18/02/2025: Excellent friendly bar staff, spent 2 evenings here with my partner and I cannot commend the 2 ladies bar staff that served us the last 2 nights, we will definitely be back again, 16th and 17th February 2025

20/02/2025: Had such a wonderful experience here last night. Walked in to a brilliant looking restaurant straight off the bat, great atmosphere and buzz for a rainy Wednesday night. The decor and cleanliness off the restaurant was perfect. We were greeted instantly and shown to our table. The service was brilliant, the wait staff were very good at their jobs and very attentive. The menu had excellent choice and everything you'd want from a Thai restaurant. The food came nice and quick but was the perfect temperature and nice and fresh. One of the best curries I've had in Ireland, really enjoyed it. The prices were great too, fantastic value. Thank you Genting for a great meal and service, will 100% be back.

11/02/2025: The blue ceiling lights and plants are stunning to look at, with such a calm atmosphere to enjoy food in. I love the delicious mix of spice AND taste together, rather than having to pick one or the other in a different restaurant. Also, this place has sparked a love of cashews in me that I didn't know I had Lovely staff also, pretty funny and happy which add to the nice environment!

10/03/2025: A really great place. Delicious food and coffee and a very good bakery.

01/02/2025: Disappointing food - I left hungry after purchasing a toasted sandwich with very little filling (chicken, rocket, pesto, 1 tomato). Worth the coffee, but not the savoury in my experience.

16/03/2025: Esta es una gran casa de huéspedes. Es cálido, acogedor y aunque está en el centro de la ciudad, también es tranquilo. Tuvimos un gran desayuno con una amplia variedad de ofertas. Gracias y volveremos.

12/03/2025: Excellent, quick service. Waiting staff friendly. Portion size substantial. I chose the mango cheesecake and they brought over two spoons so my wife could share it with me, like she likes to do anyway

14/02/2025: Dined here recently. The food was beautiful, full of flavour and good portions. The waitresses were really nice and helpful. It was great value also. Highly recommend eating here. Couldn't complain about the wine either as it was lovely.

12/03/2025: Food was unbelievable and after accidentally leaving my retainer in the napkin🤦‍♂️staff took the time to search through rubbish and return it to me and were very polite. Would highly recommend.

03/02/2025: Almorzamos el domingo aquí el 2 de febrero y la comida estaba bien. Conseguí la pasta cremosa de pollo y setas y salió fría y mi amigo consiguió el pollo al curry y también estaba fría como piedra y cuando dijimos que entonces estaba fría, las volvieron a tomar y se desgastaron 5 minutos y regresaron entubadas calientes. Definitivamente se usaron microondas y el curry era casi intocable durante unos 5 minutos y fue horrible. Mis otros 2 amigos consiguieron pastel de pastores y las patatas fritas llevaban pastel frío. Estaba bien y uno pidió verduras a un lado y no lo recibió hasta 20 minutos después de que todos habíamos terminado de comer, así que dijimos que no. Es demasiado tarde. Ahora. 2 postres ordeñados. Uno pidió lácteos libres y se sirvió. Pastel de queso sin lácteos con crema láctea en el plato. No tenía sentido y los precios de la comida subieron.

17/08/2024: Cozy and authentic pub with a long tradition in the center of Tralee. Nice and friendly owner who was happy to tell us the exciting history of the pub in an entertaining way. Delicious Guinness.

02/03/2025: Hands down, this B&B has exceeded all my expectations!!! After a week of exploring Ireland, I can confidently say this place has it all. Delicious food, a fantastic bar, and exceptional service. The owner and staff are incredibly welcoming, making you feel right at home. They're more than happy to share their knowledge of the area, recommend hidden gems, and provide valuable insights into Ireland's rich history. Plus, parking is a breeze - a rare find in Ireland! 11/10 would recommend

06/01/2025: We hadn’t planned to stay here on our trip back to Dublin. Because of atrocious weather conditions we couldn’t progress. Liz and her team kindly reopened her B&B for us and a few other stranded travellers. We had a comfortable stay with nice food including breakfast. Then we were on our way. Fantastic Kerry hospitality.

23/10/2024: Our friend surprised Jenna by buying a cake from O'Mahony's. We picked it up on our way out of town and got to see the cute little shop first hand. If we didn't have a full cake waiting for us there were all sorts of baked goods I would have loved to try. The woman helping us was lovely. Highly recommend stopping in or getting your next birthday cake here.
