Chez Christophe

Tralee
01/06/2025: An absolute gem of a restaurant situated in the town centre of Tralee. The staff are so friendly and welcoming. Came here for a meal with my husband. We both opted for the early bird menu. €28 for two courses each with a five euro supplement for the rib eye steak which I think is fantastic value for money. For starters I had the tomato soup which was accompanied by a generous portion of rustic French baguette. My husband had the pate. Both starters were absolutely delicious. We both had the steak for mains which comes with the most delicious homemade chips I've ever tasted and a side salad. There's a choice of either garlic butter or peppercorn sauce with the steak too. We had peppercorn sauce. We had a glass of wine each too. The whole lot came to €80 which is fantastic value for money. We will definitely be coming here on a more regular basis and can't wait to return

Whartons

Kenmare
28/04/2025: Super delicious! Fish and chips highly recommended. In the middle of the “market square” with covered seating.
20/04/2025: This place sets a new standard for quality and portion sizes. The fish fillets are perfectly cooked—crispy and golden on the outside, tender and juicy on the inside. The fries are just as they should be: crispy on the outside, fluffy on the inside, and seasoned wonderfully. The portions are incredibly generous, ensuring that no one leaves hungry. As for the taste—pure perfection! Fresh, well-balanced, and absolutely irresistible. If you're looking for authentic and delicious Fish and Chips, this is the place to go!

Park

Kenmare
03/05/2025: Wow. What an experience. We had gotten engaged at Muckross Lake Killarney while on route to Park Hotel and had the privilege of getting to celebrate the occasion here. Staff were incredible, made the whole experience feel so special for us. The room, breakfast, grounds, dinner, spa experience all 10/10. Could not fault a thing, the best hotel experience we’ve had and we’ve stayed in many 5* hotels in Ireland and worldwide. We cannot wait to return again next year and continue this tradition. Feeling so grateful that Park Hotel has now become a very special place for us. Thank you so much to all the team, we really appreciate how well we were looked after.

McMunn's

Ballybunion
18/02/2025: UPDATE: Spent New Years Eve 2024 here for an exceptional night. Greg, Una, and the staff went above and beyond to make all their guests feel like family, which many were. Greg and the kitchen staff made some incredible food a 10 course New Years Eve menu. The rooms remained amazing as in the review below. We spent a lovely few days here in April 2024 for Herself's birthday. I'll break down the review into three categories: Rooms, Food, Atmosphere. Rooms: excellent, spacious, clean, water pressure and temperature were great. View of the beach, castle, and water were fabulous. Parking is street parking across from McMunn's Food: unbelievable. Had the mussels, crab claws as starters both were very good. Mains: lamb, steak, cod, duck. They were all excellent. They cooked the steak to your tastes. Lamb was tender and full of flavor; cod was light, flaky, and excellent; duck was lean not fatty as some can be, prepared with skill and full of flavor. The sides all complimented the mains. Desserts were the lemon cheesecake and the chocolate cake amazing. Atmosphere: Service was attentive and professional. Una and Greg were excellent and gracious hosts, very personable and great for a conversation. Bar and music was full of good craic. I can't stop raving about the place. We will be back
01/01/2025: One of the best cocktails that I've had in a long time:) Thanks Calvin for the amazing Whiskey sour. Made to perfection. Such a beautiful cozy pub with amazing musicians, love a live band. Fantastic atmosphere

Sacre Coeur

Sneem
28/04/2025: Our go to restaurant in West Kerry. We found ourselves in Sneem for the weekend and booked dinner in Sacre Couer. We had Goats cheese starter and French Onion Soup followed the Hake and Scampi. Washed down by lovely wines. Biggest problem with Sacre Couer is the great choice on the menu and specials board, question is what to pick. Really warm welcome, very friendly and helpful. Was two long since our last visit but not until our next.
18/04/2025: The food in the Sacre Couer is consistently really good. Black sole was stunning as was the Sneem black pudding. And the deserts seem even better than before. Great friendly service

Louis Mulcahy Pottery

22/04/2025: Lovely custom made pottery in a super scenic location. In the summer there is also a lovely cafe here
15/03/2025: "Made in Dingle" is here! I visited here on the recommendation of my host while staying at Ballyferriter (she also uses the products here, which shows her love for the local area). The ceramics and masks are beautifully shaped in beautiful blue, black, red, and white themes. Have fun finding your favorite colors and imagining how you can use each piece. Since I was in the middle of a trip, I refrained from purchasing it (I didn't want to break it), but it's worth just looking at it like a museum. We also sell local salt, beautiful marble-like soap, and books by local authors. It's a good idea to choose souvenirs here instead of in Dingle town. Tá sé go hálainn 🇮🇪

The Gleneagle Hotel & Apartments

Killarney
16/05/2025: Stayed here for four nights on a coach trip from the UK. The room was quiet and comfortable and the food was excellent, as were all the staff throughout the hotel. The leisure centre swimming pool was superb, and provided segregated lane swimming at the time I visited, which was appreciated. Reception were very helpful, they gave me details of a 10 mile walk from the hotel around the Muckross Lake, which encompassed many unforgettable scenic features. Would choose the Gleneagle Hotel when visiting Killarney in the future.
18/03/2025: My family and I stayed in The Gleneagle on Patrick’s weekend for a family occasion. Overall the whole experience was lovely. However, we had dinner in Fiadh on Saturday night and my Dad regrettably found a small piece of glass in his water, thankfully before he consumed it. I immediately informed a supervisor but she didn’t even come over to the table to apologise, only told a more senior restaurant manager who didn’t come over immediately either. I decided to go up for a second time to speak with someone as we all, understandably, felt a little uneasy about the situation and were awaiting more food. That, and I was surprised no one had come over still to address the table. I ended up speaking with the manager and he was apologetic but that was about it. At the end of our meal the same manager finally came over and offered to comp a bottle of wine and two meals, which was appreciated. However, my Dad’s meal wasn’t the one comped, nor did the manager even address him or ask anything further about the situation. The communication overall, given that we found glass in our meal, was far below what I expected of a four star hotel and left us all rather disappointed, as we all don’t get together too often. The rest of our experience was really great. However I’d be remiss not to mention this story to anyone thinking of staying here as the service and communication regarding the whole situation was simply that poor.
